One day I cut a strip off one side and added it to the foot of each blanket, bound the cut edges with blanket binding and, presto, a blanket exactly wde enough, with a wonderful addition to the tuck-in end. They never come out at the foot any more. — MRS. A. E. H. DEAR POLLY — To keep a portable dishwasher water from splashing when it empties into the sink, lie a dish rag over the connection and let it hang do\vn. The water will flow in the usual manner, but without splashing. Dish rag is easily removed. — Mrs. V. E. DEAR POLLY — Clamp two small sponges, lengthwise, into an old mop hancQe and you have as good a floor waxer as anyone could want. — MRS. A. R. DEAR POLLY — Tired of having the mattress pad wrinkle as you toss and turn in bed? At my husband's suggestion, I took two old garters from a discarded girdle, attached them to a suitable length of elastic, stretched the elastic across the underside of the mattress, and clipped one garter at each side of the pad. Pads, quilted to the edge, that go over only the top of the mattress will have to have cloth tabs sewn to them so the garters fasten tightly. - POLLY DEAR POLLY - I had quite large picture frame and no use for it. I thought of using it for a souvenir board. I used white corrugated paper for a backing, white paint on the frame, and trimmed it with gold. My daugh ter hung it in her room and pins all her keepsakes, news clippings about her friends, favors from parties, etc., on this pretty wall hanging. — MRS. D. G. GIRLS — If v .hife corrugated board is not easily available for the backing, the ordinary brown kind could be painted with latex paint. — POLLY DEAR POLLY - It was always such a hard task for me to scrub the tops of kitchen cabinets, until I thought of putting clear plastic food wrap, cut to size, on them. When cleaning, just peel off the plastic. Replace it with new, and no scrubbing is needed. — MRS. L. R. R. DEAR POLLY — Families who are taking small children on vacation should put a whistle, on a cord, around the neck of each child and teach each chUd to blow his whistle if he strays from the family. — MRS. The long handle keeps your hands out of the goo and the brush does a good job of spreading. If you cannot finish an oil paint job at one sitting, put brush in a plastic bag and pop into your freezzer. It will not dry out.—MRS. M. G.
