Roach, C.S.S.P., long-time pastor of St. Ann's Church in Millvale, died Friday at Vincentian Home, North Hills. Father Roach, 74, a Holy Ghost priest, served St. Ann's parish between 1958 and 1974 when he became pastor emeritus. Previously he had served Holy Ghost churches in Phlladelphia, Arkansas and Louisiana.

A native of New York City, Father Roach was ordained Aug. 28, 1926, after finishing Ferndale Seminary on Long Island. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from noon to 9 p.m. today at Sperling Funeral Home, 123 North Millvale.

The body will be moved to St. Ann's Church at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow when visitations will be until 9 p.m. Divine Office at 10 a.m. Tuesday will precede a concelebrated funeral mass at St.

Ann's, located on Lincoln Avenue, with the Rev. Robert N. Roach, C.S.S.P., a nephew, as the principal concelebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Sharpsburg.

Mrs. Ethel B. Gogley Mrs. Ethel B. Gogley of Pittsburgh died yesterday in the home of her daughter, Mrs.

Evelyn Del Boca in Harrisburg. Mrs. Gogley, 92, had been living at her daughter's home since becoming ill some time ago. She was a member of the Allegheny County Christian and Missionary Alliance Church; the Allegheny County Women's Christian Temperance Union, and the American Rescue Mission of Pittsburgh. Surviving in addition to Mrs.

Del Boca, are a daughter, Mrs. Edna Hunter of Alexandria, a brother, Paul Bickerton of Clairton; three granddaughters and two great-grandsons. Graveside services will be at 11 a. m. Tuesday in Homewood Cemetery, Homewood Allen Clowes Allen M.

"Barney" Clowes, long-time Springdale funeral director, died yesterday i in Citizen's General Hospital, New Kensington. Mr. Clowes, 62, of 801 Pittsburgh Springdale, was a lifelong resident of the borough. He was the third generation of his family in the business and was a partner in the Clowes-Jarvie Funeral Home. He also was a 1 member of the first graduating class (1940) of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and was a member of the Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and National Funeral Directors associations.

Mr. Clowes was a lifetime member of the Springdale Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the board of Springdale Public Library and Springdale United Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Stella Rusek Clowes, and a sister, Mrs. Marion Walzer of Springdale.

Friends are being received today and tomorrow at the Clowes-Jarvie Funeral Home, 8 0 01 Pittsburgh Springdale, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. The family asks memorial contributions be made to the Springdale Public Library. Maud Clayton Maud Clayton, 88, a retired Pittsburgh teacher, died yesterday in the United Presbyterian Home for the Aged, 306 Penn Wilkinsburg.

She retired from Langley High School after 50 years of service. A New York University graduate, was member of the Pittsburgh Teachers Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association, National Education Association and the Pittsburgh Nature Club. Surviving are a brother, Charles and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call today at the United Presbyterian Mome, where services will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow.

Singer Josephine ne Baker Mourned PARIS (UPI) The bestloved American in Paris was mourned today in death that rang down the curtain on a 50-year career as queen of French music halls. Josephine Baker, Americanborn singer and dancer, died yesterday at 69 in the midst of a triumphant comeback. Got Rave Reviews Miss Baker collapsed Thursday a few hours before she was to go onstage in her latest hit, which opened to rave reviews March 24 and was sold out three weeks in advance. She lost consciousness Friday afternoon and died yesterday.

E. Stafford, 87, a resident of the EmsworthBen Avon area until 12 years ago, in Fort Myers, Fla. Harry L. Parker, a former Mt. Lebanon resident and president of Bushnell Machinery Co.

from 1946 to 1970, in Sun City, Ariz. William Billos, 61, a former Pittsburgh resident and employe of the Minnesota-based Donaldson Co. Mayjac Division in Sharpsburg, in Tulsa, Okla. said the cause of her death was a cerebral hemorrhage. Friends said that although she had suffered two heartattacks recent years, she had undergone a strenuous weight reducing program for her latest show.

The performance was a smash hit, loved by the critics as well as the public. The daily France-Soir exclaimed, "Her youthfulness is stunning -her slenderness, her allure, her melodious voice, her way of moving about and looking great whatever she's wearing." In Paris Revue Miss Baker was wearing nothing but a bunch of bananas around her waist when she first stunned Paris in all-black American troupe, "Blackbird at the Champs-Elysees Theater in 1925. She was the star of the Folies-Bergere and the Casino de Paris in the 1920s and 1930s. Miss Baker, born in poverty, left her hometown of St. Louis with a dance troupe at the age of 15 and performed at Music Hall and the Plantation Club in Harlem.

Turned down by Broadway because she was "too ugly," she went to France and became an instant success. She became a French citizen in 1937. Her gallantry went beyond the footlights. She won the Croix de Guerre and Resistance Medal for her dangerous work for French intelligence during World War II. And she kept coming out of retirement to raise money for the home in the French countryside she set up for orphans of all races and countries.

Triumphant Moment On Tuesday, just two days before her collapse, in one of her most triumphant moments, she celebrated the 50th year of her career with a gala performance of "Josephine.
