In the forthcoming film, "Taxi Driver," set in New York City, there's a reference to an address on Beech Street in Pittsburgh. ('-'Sniff in' About" was perfectly okay rock roll, though).

In contrast, Gallagher opened with hot guitar licks and the loud rock roll of "Messin' with the Kid" -and "I Take What I Wa'nt" "Anyone in his senses wants to start It; off with a bang, especially when ybuW only allotted an hour," he said), getting the crowd with him immediately. 4 i Through the blues donefhard and fast, hard boogie, the plaid-shirted Irishman made his (instrument cry, moan and scream. There's something to be said for rock fans' being starved, with few concerts between Christmas and mid-February, and the weather was mild last night, too, but Foghat, Rory Gallagher and Ace were hot. One problem: even though the bands sparkled, none' of them got enough time (Ace: eieht snnos. r.aiia. By EDWARD L. It's a tacky little melodrama which is drawing fair-sized crowds to the Fiesta on the strength of its purported Marilyn Monroe parallels. THE LEADING CHARACTER Is called Norma Jean Baker (Marilyn at the tail end), and shares Miss Monroe's pillar-to-post background. Also, she wants to be a film star and compromises herself every which way to promote her career. Were it not for the character's name, and the fact that Misty Rowe impersonates Miss Monroe rather well (especially the whispery voice), the picture wouldn't make a dime. It's a pretty tame which means it Won't please sensation seekers.

"Norma Jean" suggests a lot and shows almost nothing. Of note is a distracting, mod background score -r incongruous for a( story which unfolds entirely in the' early 1940s. It has about as much to do with the period as the picture does with its subject. "The World of Suzie Wong," long-running 1950s stage hit and successful film about an American painter and a Chinese prostitute, is to be remade as a The four-performance engagement of "Man of La Mancha" at Heinz Hall was a sellout: 11,388 seats for a total gross of approximately $85,400.
