BODEN Circuit Court for Coiiot; Son Charged On Duck Theft A 22-year-old Cresaptown man is being held in the county lockup for a hearing Monday at 7 p. m. before Magistrate William E. Meagher on 'charges of stealing five ducks from his father. The father, 'Harry Albright, told Constable Roy Van Fleet that he discovered all five of his duck hens missing when he arose yesterday morning.

Two drakes had not oeen taken from the pen. Albright went to the home of his son, Chester Albright, who is a neighbor, where he noticed blood and feathers in the back yard. In the kitchen of his son's home, he told Constable Van Fleet, he saw dressed fowl which appeared to be his missing ducks. After obtaining a warrant, Con- stabe Van Fleet arrested the man's son and placed him in the County Jail. If these had been divided G-4, West would have made two discards from his six-card suit in order to keep protection in both black suits. Since West had actually discarded one club and one spade. South concluded that West had started with five cards in each of the black suits.

Having arrived at this conclusion, South cashed the king and ace- of spades, gratefully noting the fall of East's ten of spades. He then cashed "dummy's king and queen of clubs, after which he put West in with the last club. West then had to lead spades away from his jack up to South's queen-nine. This cleverly-executed endplay gave the English declarer his game contract. rnr to dist Church on Oldtown Roaci the Young Peoole.

East dared not cover with the king, for then South would be able to win two tricks with his ace and ten. South could therefore hold up his ace of diamonds a second time and thus compel West to shift to a new suit.

West shifted to the jack of clubs, and South won in his own hand with the ace. He led a heart and played the king from dummy to force out East's ace. East returned a diamond to declarer's ace, and West discarded a low club. Cas Taylor's Formerly "ShobarV N.
