A reception was held tor 18 guests at the home of the bride after the ceremony with Mrs. Lynn Hanson pouring coffee and Mrs. Robert White cutting the cake. He is a graduate of Carpenter High School at Carpenter, Iowa, received a B.A. aad M.A. degree from tbe State College of Iowa and has done additional graduate work at Drake University and Illinois State University. From 1952-54, Dockum served in the U. S. Army Counterintelligence Corps. His teaching experience prior to his present position includes serving as a business education instructor at Clear Lake, Iowa, and as a teacher and principal at Franklin Junior High School in Des Motoes.
