Registration forms are available at the Ukiah Civic Center. The priority registration deadline for returning team sponsors is March 26 and the general deadline is April 16. Player fees will be collected from team managers at the first game. Register early, as space is limited. For additional information, call 463-6713. Sports Attic basketball tourney The i 7th annual Sports Attic Basketball Tournament is scheduled for March 19-21 at the Ukiah High School gym. All teams are assured two games and the entry fee is $175. Proceeds benefit the Ukiah High School basketball program. To register, send a check for $175 along with a team roster to the Sports Attic (108 W. Standley Street, Ukiah, Calif., 95482) by March 11. Puma soccer coaches needed The Ukiah Valley Youth Soccer League is currently accepting letters of application for competitive team coaches for the 2004-2005 playing season. These teams travel outside of the Ukiah area and are for players in under 10 through under 19 years old. Include in the letter the age and gender of the group(s) you are interested in coaching, an outline of any playing and coaching experience that you have, and any licenses held (CYSA, USYSA, NSCAA, referee). Mendocino County Sheriff's PAL Martial Arts Program The Mendocino County Sheriffs Police Activities League (PAL), in cooperation with the Redwood Health Club of Ukiah, is sponsoring youth martial arts programs (karate, self-defense) for local youth. Spring 2004 classes start this month, March 20. Ages 4 through 6 years old (Lil' Dragons), 6 through 12 years old (Karate Kids), and 12 years through adult (Teen/adult). Youth classes at the Redwood Health Club meet on Saturdays, beginning at 2:30 p.m. There is a $5 yearly insurance fee for PAL Programs. Girls softball clinic The city of Ukiah and the Ukiah High Wildcats would like to announce the beginning of registration for a girls softball clinic supervised by the Ukiah High School softball coaching staff, players and other local coaches. The clinic will be held on Saturday, April 3, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Ukiah High School softball fields and is open to girls 10 to 14 years old. The cost is $25 per player. ' . . Bocce Spring League sign-ups Brutocao Schoolhouse Plaza in Hopland is taking team and individual applications for its spring league, which begins April 5 and runs 10 weeks. Healdsburg United Inferno Girls U17/18 competitive soccer tryouts Class I tryouts for the Healdsburg United Inferno U- 17/18 girls will be on April 6 and 8 at Foss Creek from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Foss Creek School in Healdsburg. (Directions: 101 South, exit Dry Creek and turn left, left at second light (Healdsburg Avenue), school will be on the left (1557 Healdsburg Ave)). The Inferno is a good option for those willing to train at a high level and those who wish to prepare for the high school season and for those who are considering playing at the college level. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 7-12. Each day of camp is filled with fundamental skills, progression drills, easy-to-understand instruction, as well as games and competitions. The camp needs a minimum of 25 campers so make sure you pre-register at the city of Ukiah. Lunch is not provided. Bring a sack lunch each day to camp. Tuition is $190 per camper. Need-based fee scholarships are available through the City of Ukiah. For more information, call Gina at 463-6201. Indoor soccer league Lake County Roller Rink and Indoor 1 Sports Arena is hosting a co-ed indoor soccer league starting April 14. Sign-ups are on or before March 24 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the co-ed adult league. There is also a youth co-ed league. Individual sign- ups are welcome. The fee is $50 per individual and $450 per team (11 players or more). Call (707) 263-4000 for more information. Pee-wee roller hockey Lake County Roller Rink and Indoor Sports Arena is hosting a pee-wee division roller hockey league. Roller hockey players 10 years and younger are eligible to sign up. 'Bowl for Kids' Sake' events Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Mendocino County is hosting a pair of "Bowl for Kids' Sake" events locally. One is slated for A.pril 17 at Yokayo Bowl in Ukiah.
