Lu Verne men leave for stay in California and Heftf y Loef wald * California Wednesday. iMehafd Weiit 16 visit his two daughters, the George John- fSns (Ruth) in Oxnard and the Bobert Duffels (Irene) in Manhattan Beach. Loerwald wlJl visit his daughter, Mary Anfte, the Donald Franks, then will go to Dallas, Tex., to visit his sister and brother. They went by bus from Fort Dodge. . Lutheran Ladies Aid met at the church parlors Wednesday, Dec. 12. It was a postponed Meeting due to bad weather. Twenty members and five guests were present. Rev. Young explained the symbolism of the Chrismon tree. As he explained each one, Delores Schnakenberg, hung it on the tree, lit with tiny white lights. Ladies of the congregation made enough for the large tree in the church. Delores Schnakenberg, Norma Anderson and Bernadell Harmon had charge of entertainment. Gifts were sent to the Bethesda Home, Peter Pan School at Burt, Lutheran Hour, Concordia Tract Mission and Bible Translators. Exchange of gifts was held. Dorothy Hanselman and Bef nadell Harmon served lunch. J.if. Club met Dec. 14 with Sharol Hefti with 12 members Answering roll call. Jean Elbert was in charge of entertainment with carols being sung and Christmas contests held. Postponed Circle 2 was held in the home of Sheri Savage Wednesday, Dec. 12, with 11 members present. Roll catT was plans for Christmas. Irene Hefti had devotions and Mrs. Becker hosts Village Card Club ST. JOE-Village Card Club held its Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Joseph A. Becker Thursday afternoon with prizes won by Mrs. Roger Thul, Mrs. Edward Bormann, and Mrs. Mary Becker. Guests were Mrs. Roger Thul and Mrs. Edward Bormann. Mrs. Susie Kramer entertains the club next, Dec. 27. Clara McClellan had the lesson. A gift was presented to" Eleanor Kubly, president. A collection was taken for the Helping Hand School at Burt. A gift exchange was held. Also postponed Circle 3 was held in the home of Vera Wolfs Dec. 12 with nine members answering roll call. Yula Mae Voss, co-hostess, had the lesson and entertainment and Fern' Neal had the devotions. A gift exchange was held. Mrs. Phil Hefti and children, Hayfield, Minn., spent a couple of days with her grandmother, Lillie Hesse. Saturday afternoon, Mrs. Rose Hefti came and got them. Phil Hefty went to a meeting at Altantic and will pick them up at his mothers Sunday. Christmas wishes and perennial thanks to all our fine patrons and friends. May joy brighten and fill your homes.
