The Humbttldl Independent, Saturday, Dec.22> 19t3 Accident total reaches $1,900 ttamboldt County Police officers investigated an accident at the intersection of f aft Street South and Second Avenue South Dec. 11, when according to police records, a car driven by Suzanne Lea Heim, 17, Humboldt, hit a car at the intersection driven by Rosemary Samuels, 27, Humboldt. Damage to the right rear of the Samuels car was estimated at $300. Estimated damage to the right front of the car driven by Suzanne Lea Heim was $200. The intersection of Broadway and fifth Street North Was the scene of an accident Dec. 14, 8 a.m. According to police records, a car driven by Christine Lowella Roper, 26, Humboldt, approached a stop sign in heavy snow and could not stop, striking a car driven by Robert Leroy Johnson, 20, Humboldt. Damage to the right rear side of the Johnson vehicle was estimated at $1,000. Estimated damage to the left front grille and bumper of the car driven by Miss Roper was $250. Miss Roper was taken to the office of Dr. Messingham with injuries to the nose and head, according to police records. Police officials recorded a hit-and-run accident Dec. 14 when a car registered to Michael Mondragon, Gilmore City, parked in Humboldt County Memorial Hospital parking lot was hit by an unknown vehicle. Damage to the rear fender of the Mondragon car was estimated at $150. St. Joa Farmerette 600 Club had its Christmas club party with their husbands in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Raphael Faber. Covered dishes were brought for a 6:30 supper. Cards were played with Wilfred Kohlhaas and Raphael Faber winning prizes for the men and Mary E. Faber and Loretta Plathe winning the ladies' prizes. Club had a gift exchange and coffee at the close of the evening. Dorothy Kohlhaas has the club in January. Friends and relatives attended the open house shower for Frances Thul, bride-to-be of Mark Johnston, Sunday, Dec. 16 in St. Joseph's School Hall. Cards were played with Eleanor Kohlhaas, Lorene Kollasch, and Bernadine Kramer receiving prizes. Mrs. Clarence Bormann returned to her home Friday after being a medical patient in Mercy Hospital, Mason City. Mary Beth Thilges, student at St. Mary's College, and Ellen Bormann, student at Creighton, came home fhufs- day to spend Christmas vacation with their parents and families.
