TUESDAY, NOV, 10, 1903 I I RENO EVENING GAZETTE. PAGE THREE '11 iignal Peak Scene DOOR Have a Population of Another Strike II it r- I I i MIMING NEWS I I mi rt uiarey of 000 ore Than 5, 0 you mow mat SEVEN TROUGHS, New, Nov. 10. Another sensation is reported from the Signal Peak mine in the way of startling disclosures in the ore body in both the north and south drifts from the. bottom of the winze, which is down fifty feet from the first level or one hundred and fifteen feet from the surface.

Almost simultaneously in the faces of both drifts improvements of a most sensational character have occurred. An entire face of ore has occurred in both drifts of a richness that excells anything that has heretofore been disclosed at the property. While assays have not yet been made pan-nings show a richness across the entire face of both drifts that eclipses anything ever opened up in the proper- ty before. It is believed that practically all the material being taken from the face of both drifts is shipping ore and as a result of the discovery sacking operations are going forward at a rate that transcends all past records at the mine. The faces of the opposite drifts from the winze are now about fifteen feet from each other and all the intervening space is traversed by the ore body.

It has been proved on the sixty-five foot level that the ore shoot is over one hundred feet long so that a mountain of stoping ground is assured here. Over two hundred tons of ore have already been taken from the mine stands on the -dump. zette Advertising Pays scale. He states that in this property a large ledge of milling ore has been uncovered and that it is shipping while development is going on. Ham Wheeler, who owns a lease in the Chafey district, has found 3 our-foot ledge of ore averaging $75 on his lease and his property is now beginning to ship.

Cushman, who own brokerage offices in Reno, are in forty feet on a tunnel and have, encountered a ledge of milling ore from which' they will soon ba This property promises to be one of the big mines of the district. Mr. Denson says that at the present time there are at least 1200 men Tin the camp and that in another six months he-, expects to see the population increased to at least fi.000. Cliff Donson. who is Interested in mining in arrived in Reno yesterday from the new camp and states that the camp is growing steadily and is becoming one of tin; his camps of the state.

He states that it is by, no -means a one-mine camp and that if the' Black Hole mine, owned by Chafey, should be worked out, there would be several other mines in the camp equally an rich as the Black Hole and equally 'as great. Mr. Denson states that Brockbank, and Colburn of Reno have opened up a large bvly of pay ore in their new lease in the camp, known as the B. M. C.

The work will be carried out on a large scale A 800--foot tunnel will be run to drain the ground and a 300-foot cut will be run into the hillside to the mouth of the tunnel. Placer has been known to be plentiful in this section of the district, but this is the first time that an effort will be made to determine its extent. They expect to find bedrock at Irom thinly to forty feet and work will be pushed as fast as men and money can accomplish it. We are depending on the coming' of a railway which we expect within a 'year, and the object in the meantime is to get us much ore as possible blocked Thus Perry L. Wait describes mining conditions at I'ellehclen. "In the Lawrence property," he says, ''drifting and crosscutting is being done on the 200 level, and it is proving to be better with depth. The Scioto-Nevada has done considerable work on the 200 level and looks promising at present. "The Cornforth property has been very active for the past four months.

It has a 000-foot tunnel and considerable drifting. Drifting for the ore is now in progress. "These three are the principal properties, all others being worked on a smaller scale. "In the camp there is much high grade ore, but it does not justify shipping on a large scale. To pay expenses there it takes $100 ore.
