Florence James Wedded to C. E. Robins of Winnemueea Miss Grace Gardner Fogg, one of the most charming young ladies of Reno, and Charles Roscoe Squires, a Floris ton merchant, were married Saturday evening at the home of the bride at 310 East street. Rev. C.

L. Mears of ficiated and Miss Irene Nevada. Fogg and U. M. Mihills acted as attend ants.

A magnificent wedding dinner fol lowed the ceremony and the couple then departed for the west to spend their honeymoon in California. Upon returning they will go to housekeeping at Floriston, their future home. Miss Fogg is one of the most promi nent of Reno's young women. She is a daughter of County Clerk and Mr A. Fogg and is a native daughter of Reno.

She has acted as assistant to her father for several years and has won; many friends while engaged in that capacity. Her husband, Mr Squires, Is prominent in commercial circles at Floriston and is generally known here, where, he has frequently visited. Edwards-Laughlin In the chapel at Stanford University a few days ago Miss Ada Edwards, In structor in physical culture, was mar ried to Homer Miss Ed wards Is widely known here, where she made many friends during her univer sity work. i Robins-James Judge C. Robins of Winnemueea, a member of the Humboldt county bar, and Justice of the peace for that city, was married Saturday evening to Mrs Florence James, formerly of Reno. The ceremony occurred at the home of Frank C. Robins and Rev. Smith of ficiated. They will spend their honey moon in California.

WHEELMEN HOLD FORTH IN RENO THIS EVENING Of the many public social events of the closing year nothing promises more genuine pleasure for the guests of the occasion than does the Wheel men's ball, wrhich is to be given at the magnificent club house of tiiat organization this evening. The members have been anticipating for the aaffir for several weeks and the governors and the various com mittees in charge have left nothing undone to Insure the guests having the most enjoyable hop of the winter sea-eon. The tickets have been on sale for several days and while there is a large crowd assured, It will not pack the floor to a degree that wil mar the pleasure of anyone. 1 MEN ARRESTED FOR ROBBING COMPANION Charles Moore and William Meek, two strangers in the city, were placed in jail last night by Constable Regan charged with robDing a man named Jack Lawrence at the Diamond saloon on Virginia street. Two men, Messrs.

McGulre and Lane, the former a shoemaker and the latter an employe of the N. C. O. claim to have seen the offense committed and this morning they appeared at the police court and said they were ready to appear as witnesses. They claim that Lawrence was helplessly intoxicated and that his two companions were rifling his pockets.

In the township court this morning Lawrence was unable to give an account of himself and declined to make a complaint, "saying that he remembered nothing of the transaction. THE NEW YEAR WATCH PAR TIES AND STR iET REVELERS Bade Good-by to 1904 md Greeted the Dawn of 1905 The new year was welcomed by-Reno in appropriate fashion. As the hour of 12 struck the bells and wh sties of the city turned loose and ar. yone within Ave miles of the city oula have known that the old year was passing into history.

For several minutes the din hela forth, then one by one the revelers subsided and when the last note was sounded the town again relapsed into a hush as the new year was There were numerous watch pr jties all over the city, chief of which was that of the Elks, who entertained in royal fashion at their magnificent home. The Salvationists were also in evidence. They waited with an clous hearts for the coming of the new year and as the first hour of midnight was struck they marched into the street banging a bell, blowing a bugrle and singing happy songs "with circum stance and much embroidery." The men who stay out nearly all night on such occasions, breaking old resolutions in order to prepare them selves for the shock of keeping new ones were greatly in evidence. There was more than an ordinary amount of artificial hilarity but there were few troubles of a serious nature. C.

C. RUSHING WORK AT WABUSKA STATION Several miles of side tracks are be ing built at Wabuska and to rush the work as rapidly as possible a carload of Japs have been sent there by the railway company. In addition to the tracks a large water tank and a spa cious freight depot will be erected. It is the intention to make Waouska an Important freight station on the new C. and C.

and as soon as the standard gauge track reaches the place freight will be transferred there for the north and south. HAND MANGLED Pearl Upson Loses Thumb and Injures Finger While Sawing Wood While operating a circular saw at the Drappo wood yard Saturday af ternoon Pearl Upson, well known throughout the city, had the thumb and index finger on his right hand painfully mangled. He was placing Wood against the saw when he allow ed his hand to come in contact with the whirling piece of steel with serious results. He hastened at once tc phy sicians, who amputated the thumb. H. A. Pike, who retired to-day us district atttorney of Washoe coun ty, has entered into a law partnership with Judge Jones of Austin under the firm name of Pike Jones.
