VINDICATOR AND ESTHERVILLE, IOWA, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 1 NEW DISCUSSION PROGRAM BEGUN FOR 4-H GIRLS "How would yon like to live that way?" This question, referring to life of youth in various countries, will be the topic for a series of discussions in nine Iowa counties, Hiss Edith Bass, home agent, announced today. Emmet county is one of the group and is scheduled to meet March 6. A. Drummond Jones, discussion specialist from the U.SJXA.., will conduct the meetings, which are designed not only to give 4-H girls training in discussion technique, but also to evaluate the ideals of democracy, Harry Terrell, Economic Policy Committee, Des Moines, and Miss Ursula Hubbard, Carnegie Foundation, New York, will assist with the meetings. Miss Edith Barker, of the girl's club department, will be in charge and also will meet with leaders to discuss their problems.

The meetings are a stepping stone to a statewide discussion program for 4-H girls and increas- ed use of discussion in the 4-H program, Miss Bass said. V.R. MINNIE THE MANIKIN TO RETURN IN POSTURE MEETS Minnie the Manikin, posture princess for 4-H girls, is coming back to Iowa, Miss Edith Bass, Emmet county home agent, announced today. Minnie, the paper doll used last year by Miss Ella Gardner, Federal Extension Service, to show posture slumps and bulges, has a new text this "A lot of it's in your head, girls." The mental side of posture will be emphasized in the third annual series of posture training school, Miss Bass said. Although Miss Gardner will review physical aspects, she will particularly emphasize posture from the standpoint of personality and mental attitude.

One leader and one 4-H club girl will represent each girls' club in the county, Miss Bass said. A member of the county club committee and the county home project chairman will attend. This will make a possible delegation totaling 20 from Emmet county. The group will go to Primghar for the district meeting on March 20th. DOLLIVER LUTHERAN G.
