ARMSTRONG Irvin Houseman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Houseman of Granada, formerly of Armstrong and Miss Esther Gallrin, daughter of Mis. Lena Galkin of Blue Earth, were married Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Methodist parsonage in Winnebago, Minn.

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Looft, Wallace Richmond, H. B. Sturtevant and Mr.

and Mrs. Bergie Monson attended the Ames and Oklahoma football game Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Lyle and two daughters of Elmhurst, 111., were calling on friends in Armstrong Monday.

They were called here by the death of a brother-in-law John Williams of Spirit Lake, former resident of this community. Mrs. Lyle is a sister of Jesse Hemphill. Lyle will be remembered as being an employee of a bank here some time ago. Miss Harriette Olson, Mr.

and Mrs. H. T. Margold accompanied Mrs. J.

J. Mangold to Sisseton, S. D. Mrs. Mangold has been visiting her son and family for a few weeks, Mr.

and Mrs. L. H. Locker and son attended the football game in Ames Saturday. Mrs.

Mathew Monson returned homo with them. Mr. Munson and Elaine Locker students at Ames came home on Wednesday to spend Thanksgiving. Mrs. D.

A. Fitzgibbons accompanied her sister-in-law Mrs. Ghas. Sarzine of Spirit Lake to Des Moines Wednesday to attend the funeral of a great aunt of Mr. Fitzgibbons and Mrs.

Sarzine. Mrs. Dr. West has been confined to her home the past week with flu. A number of ladies gathered at the home of Mrs.

Margarete Bunt Tuesday afternoon, tho occasion being her birthday anniversary. The afternoon was spent visiting. A pot-luck lunch was served. Mrs. Nellie Hall of Clear Lake was visiting friends and relatives in Armstrong last week.

Dr. and Mrs. J. B. Knipe had as Thanksgiving guests, their son William Knipe of Webster City, tiieir daughter and family Mr.

and Mrs. Bain Campbell of Manning and Mr. Campbell's parents and two sisters. Mr. and Mrs.

William Campbell of Gilmore City, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schissel and Mr. and Mrs.

Clinton Daniels and daughter of Garner. J. D. Anderson who has been employed at the Quaker Oats company, has been transferred to Em. division.

MlsBT Margaret Vandenburgh of Sac City is spending Thanksgiving vacation at the home of her parents. Mr. Donald "Ogren of Independence i also a guest at the Vandenburgh home. Billy Whitlow, Craig Irwin, Jim, my Vigdal and Ross Dundas arc spending the Thanksgiving vacation at their respective homes. They came home with Mrs.

Mary Dundas Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Finnegan and family of Mapleton, and Mr. and Mrs.

Gene Martini of Whittemore wero Thanksgiving guests at the parental Thos. Finnegan home. Mrs. Eunice Porter who has been employed at the Len Tipton home for the past two months has returned to her home in Missouri, The Armstrong Campfire groups of girls have been rerognized by the national organization and have received charters to this effect. Official guardian for both groups i Mrs.

and Mrs. Carl Johnson and Mrs. A. Dyke of Esthervllle called on the Harold Graff family Wednesday afternoon. Mr.

and Mrs. Bernard Jansen and children of Esthervllle were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Shannon and family. Mr.

and Mrs. Andrew Graff and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schnell and children Charles, Harry, Irvin and Ilene spent Friday evening in the I. Schmidt home.

Will Swartz was a guest at Sunday dinner in the Holland Elkin home. Mrs. Rolland Shannon and children, Nona Jean and Dale spent Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Vernon Anderson and children. Mr.

and Mrs. Andrew Graff visited in the Claus Martens homo Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. L.

G. Kamp speni, Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Robinson at Armstrong. Mr.

and Mrs. Otto Hansen, Mrs. Mike Zelinsky and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Zelinsky and Jerald were guests at dinner in the Dorance Jacobs home at Estherville.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Graff and children Bonnie and Bobbie called in the Floyd Schonck home on Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs.

Fred Zelinsky and Mike Zelinsky called in the Otto Hansen home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. P. I.

Schmidt and daughters Maxine, Vclma, Verna and Helen called on Mrs. George Ferguson at the hospital at Worthington who is recovering from an automobile accident. She is a sister of Mr. Schmidt. They were supper guests at the home of her sister Mrs.

Andrew Graff were Saturday supper guests in the Drexel Griffee homo at Superior. Mr. and Mrs. Holland Elkin and so James and Mrs. Delia Elkin spont Thursday evening with thu Lambert Roetman homo at Lake Park, celebrating Mrs.

Rootman's and James's birthdays. Miss Jean Harrison of Washtau spent the week end with Miss Verda Frank. Mrs. Mike Zelinsky came Saturday to spend a few weeks at the home of her daughter Mrs ing caught upward of five hundred musk rats and several minks. Miss Mabel Ingvall has been staying with Mrs.

Cliff Ingvall while he has been trapping. The Nelson Whcatley family were Thursday evening guests at the parental Mrs. John Sabo home in town. Sunday, Nov. 20 Mr.

and Mrs. Milford Houge accompanied Mr. and Mrs. S. Houge of Superior to where they visited relatives.

Cockburn and J. H. Larson were Thursday afternoon callers at the G. G. Wheatley home.

Miss Pryor, teacher in District No. 2 and pupils attended a music class conducted by E. A. Fullerton at Huntington Thursday afternoon. Chester Oleson and a fellow student came from St.

Paul on Sunday to assist in the choir of the Luther Theological Seminary who sang at Jackso Sunday evening and at Wnllingford Monday evening. Mr. and Mrs. F. J.

Manthey and daughter Frances, Miss Minnie Wolf and J. H. Larso fwere Friday dinner guests at the Claus Martens home. Tuesday afternoon of last week Mrs. Chris Juhl and Mrs.

Harry Lennox entertained at a miscellaneous Shower complimenting Mrs. Gerald Love Clemenson at the home of Mr. and Mrs Henry Dcwall. Mrs. Love was the recipient of many nice gifts.

Re. freshments were served by the hostesses. The Cornell Oleson family were supper guests Monday at the home of their son Maurice and wife, Chester being home for a short visit. Mr. and Mrs.

Elmer Rockne and daughters Lois and Jenn and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Graff wore Sunday evening callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Martens.

Mr. and Mrs. Perry White and children, Marjorie, Marylin and John and P. A. White their grandfather drove to Des Moines to spend the day with relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Milford Houge and children spent Thursday with Mrs. J. B.

Brown at the parental home near Montgomery. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wellnitz, entertained their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs.
