VINDICATOR AND BEPUBUOAN, BSTHEBVTLLE, IOWA, TUESDAY, AUGUST 16, 1938 Married In Double Ceremony at Ft. Dodge A double wedding ceremony was performed at the Presbyterian Memorial church Sunday in Fort Dodge at two o'clock when Miss Marian Thrush, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. E.

Thrush of Estherville became the bride of Donald W. Bollard, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. J.

Bollard and Miss Neva Bollard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, J. Bollard became the bride af Harold C. Olson, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Oscar C. Olson all of Fort Dodge. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Geo. Steele.

Nuptial music was played by Miss Isabel Flaherty. Attending Miss Thrush and Mr. Bollard were Miss Blanche Wilson of Estherville and Mr. Russel Anderson of Fort Dodge. Miss Thrush wore a white gab.

Miss "Bollard wore a street length navy blue crepe dress trimmed in dusty rose and carried an arm bouquet of talisman roses and baby breath. The grooms and their attendants wore white carnations in their coat lapels. Mrs. Bolard is a graduate of the Estherville high school. Mr.

Bollard is a graduate of the Fort Dodge high school. The couple will make their home in Estherville where Mr. Bollard is employed in the-Sldle's Grocery. Mr. and Mrs.

Olson are both graduates of the Fort Dodge high school. A lovely dinner was served to the bridal parties and their immediate relatives at the F. J. Bollard home. The tables were set in green and white with a wedding cake decorated with two minature brides and grooms.

The house was decorated with garden flowers. Due to the illness of Mr. F. 3. Bollard, father of two of the party, the wedding was private.

The young couples left immedU lately for Minneapolis, Minn. Guest at the wedding was a brother of Mr. Bollard and Mrs, Olson, Mr. Merle Bollard of Rockford, 111. BB 60 ATTENDED SAWYER FAMILY REUNION The Sawyer family had a reunion Sunday at the Fort Defiance State Park.

Sixty members attended. A program was held following the picnic. It consisted of the singing of "Doxology" by the group. Readings were given by Mrs. Condon Brady, Nash Sawyer and Mrs.

Ed Shirley. The history of the family was read by Fred D. Sawyer. Mrs, Ed Shirley rend a poem of greeting from Mrs. Peter Xapboly of Saskatchewan, Canada, who was unable to come.

A tele- pram from Willard Sawyer of Chicago was rend by Mrs. Carl Sawyer. Remarks from various members of the family were made. A business meeting wag held. The same officers as during previous years were re-elected, Fred Sawyer, and Miss Virginia Langland, Waterloo, sec'y.

The meeting was closed by the singing of "Blessed Bo The Tic" and a prayer by Mrs. Anne Erbb. A. W. Fisher, Miss Lida Zurg and Miss Jeanne Harrison. WIDE AWAKE CLUB MET LAST FRIDAY The Wide Awake 4-H club of Center township, met Friday afternoon, August 12 at the home of the Misses Mildred and Alice Schultz. The business meeting was conducted by the club president Maryls Bush.

Maxine Workman, ass't leader spoke on "Exhibits at Achievements and Fairs" and "Hotel Etiquette." The afternoon was spent in discussing achievement day plans and the local achievement show. Games were enjoyed during the social hour. Lunch was served by the hostesses. Members present were the Misses Francis Calhan, Marlys Bush, Florence Origer, Rosemary Haywood, Jam's Anderson, Gladys DeVoss, Alice Schultz, Doris Natterstad, Vera Grems, Florence Barber, Mildred Schultz, Edna Woods, Dorothy Thompson, Virginia Hartman, Jessie Hartman and Ruby Haar. Mothers present were the Mesdames John Bush, Robt.

Woods, Kate Grems, Ole Natterstad, Frank Barber, II. A. Haywood, Vornon Urigcr, Clarence Anderson. Guests were Miss Betty Hartman, Miss Mary Brood, Miss Mary Brood, Miss Iva Love, Mrs. Chester Love, Mis Mary Swartz, Miss Nnda Swartz, Miss Violet Rothweiler and Mrs.

Smith went to Sibley Sunday to visit friends. Mrs, Arnold Anderson is visiting her grandparents in Litchfield, Minnesota. Miss Jeanne Hayden has returned from a week's vacation from her duties in the Silverberg store. Miss Mary Mauss is enjoying a two weeks vacation from her duties in the auditor's office. The Misses Isabel Paul and Marcella Kiefcr are spending a week at the Melvin Peterson cottage at Terrace Park.

Mrs. Joe Orvis and Marian returned yesterday from California. J. B. Flindt is enlarging and improving his home on N.

6th. Mr. and Mrs. Lou Wanamaker and Mr. Lou Barnes returned yesterday from an interesting trip through the Black Hills.

Mr. and Mrs. Russel Ferguson of Minneapolis, were guests Saturday and Sunday at the Ernest Smith home. Mr. and Mrs.

Roy McNeal of Crosby, N. will arrive here tomorrow to visit with Mrs. Mc- Neal'a mother, Mrs. S. T.

Howe. Mr. McNeal is taking a vacation from the Penney store which he manages in Crosby. They will also visit relatives in Dunnell and Windom, Minn. Mrs.

Wilma Huffman and baby spent the week end at Iowa City. Mrs. L. Caivin left the first of the week for Worthington, where she will visit relatives. Miss Gwendolyn Haxton of Eldora was in Estherville visiting friends over the week end.

Miss Haxton and her father, a former pharmacist in the Estherville Drug will manage a drug store in Hampton after the first of the month. Mrs. Joy Horswell and son Leo drove to Dcs Moines Sunday to bring Genevieve home. Elmore and Francis Riggs went to Sleepy Eye, to work in the Del Monte Co. plant there dur- the season.

Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brown left Sunday for Tacoma, where they will visit with their daughter Eleanor and son Mervih. Mrs. Cary Henaman, Mr.

and Mrs. Wm. Conklin, Mrs. Porter Henaman and daughter and Mrs. Ruby Henaman visited with relatives in Sioux Falls Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Mathews and son Billy of Glendale, and Mr.

and Mrs. Harold Mount and daughter Betty of Los Angeles, are visiting with the L. E. and E. E.

Thrush families. Mr. and Mrs. J. H.

Brubaker, Mrs. F. M. Brown and Miss Vera Brown loft for Minneapolis this morning. Edward Phippin spent the week end visiting friends in Estherville.

Ho is employed in the Del Monte at Sleepy Eye, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Fred R. Long and daughter Elsie of Mnrney, were Sunday visitors of Mr.

and Mrs. A. W. Baird. Paul Roscnbcrger of Denver, has been visiting here the past week.
