Speeders Buy Shoes For 22 Children By The raited Press DETROIT Twenty-two children of the suburb of Ecorse, who couldn't go to school because their parents couldn't afford shoes for them, were entering classes today, each one shod in brand new footwear. The shoes came from speeders who were brought before Judge John H. Riopelle, suburban Justice of the peace. Instead of cash fines Judge Riopelle assessed the speeders so many pairs of shoes, explaining his reasons. Several speeders voluntarily increased their own fines.

The control and ownership of the Cumberland concern passed into Bell control in nine communities, and that of the Bell into Cumberland hands in 18. The rearranged system will now be interconnected.

The deal enables Bell subscribers to connect with Keystone users in Philadelphia with Cumberland users in Central Pennsylvania, and joined the Cumberland telephones with the Bell National and International lines. K. C. M. physician in ordinary to the King of England and the Prince of Wales, knew today what a Kansas City taxicab driver thinks about doctors. Arriving at Union Station.

Lord Dawson hurried to a taxi stand and told Driver Jack San-ford he wanted to be shown the city all in 15 minutes. San-ford did his best. He pointed out the million-dollar Liberty Memorial, explaining that there were some who "didn't think it was so hot." He told Lord Dawson how many workers had fallen from a new hotel under construction. He explained about the new movies and plays and described a turtle race to be held r.ext week. Passing the new Professional Building, Sanford informed the English baron he didn't think much of physicians.

And so back to the Union Station in time for a train to the West Coast. "So he's an English high mucky-muck," said Driver Sanford later. -Well, he's a swell guy anyway. He tipped me four bits." copy, i 1367-J. wickley p.i.-.
