J. Appel. Kalamazoo. Enthusiasm over the duckpin tournament to be held next month by the Southern Duckpin Assn. is mounting.

In the past few years it has been customary for the Original group to hold an event and the Southern leaders another, "but this practice has been abandoned and only one tournament will now be held the feature classic of the year here. Ever since the announcement was made that the Southern body had made arrangements to stage the tourney, interest among the bowlers has been encouraging to the sponsors. The classic will start Feb. 18 and continue through the evening of Feb. 23 at the South Side Recreation parlors, in the Lorch building.

Seventeenth and Carson sts. The entries for the event will close midnight, Friday, Feb. 6 and one of the largest tournaments ever held In Pittsburgh is anticipated. Another announcement of importance made by Secretary Wessa is that any team desiring special dates on which to bowl should communicate with him promptly at Hemlock 0426-W (at night) or Grant 10470 during the day. There will be five-men, two-men and individual events, also five-women, two-women and individual with an entry list which, from all indications, should be the largest to ever participate in a tournament here.

An entry fee of $2 will be charged for each event for both men and women. All checks should be made payable to A. J. Rauscher, 123 South Twenty-third South Side. Bowling alley proprietors have been furnished with the proper paraphernalia by the Southern leaders, and teams or individual members can secure information concerning the tourney at any of the bowling parlors.
