By Barbara IIolsopplc Tht PitUbvfk Pr Kiel Martin, who play the loose-living Officer John URue, has beta suspended from "Hill Street Blues" for a drinking problem. Two years ago. Martin's character was demoted to the motor pool because of a drinking problem. Two weeks ago, "Hill Street-producers had "reluctantly" decided to fire him because his drinking had been interfering with his work all season, according to an NBC source close to the show. The actor has checked into the three-week dry-out program at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, Calif. Although hell miss the last four "Hill Street" episodes this season, he will return to the series in September if he successfully completes the program and stays sober through the summer, the NBC source sail Martin's role has been considerably reduced in episodes already aired this season, apparently because of bis drinking problem.
