Lorl Curran Diane Vorrie Crowning 8:00 p.m. Thursday 7 compete for Humboldt County Fair Queen title The 1972 Humboldt County Fair Queen will be crowned Thursday evening, July 27, opening night of the county fair. Seven candidates will appear before the grandstand Thursday evening and all will be present when the queen is announced and crowned at 8 p.m, Miss Barbara Dodgen, 1971 Humboldt County Fair Queen, will be present to crown the 1972 winner, She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Jack Dodgen, Humboldt, The queen will be selected Wednesday morning, July 26, at a meeting of the judges and contestants at Star Restaurant in Humboldt, Contestants will be judged on personality, poise, beauty, charm, leadership, citIzenship, talent and overall appearance, Judges for the contest will be Mayor Bill Finn and Phil Diemond of Algona, and Mrs. Janet Wiewel and Mrs.

Sue Tischer of Fort Dodge, Corsages will be given to each contestant entering the courtesy of Country Florals of Humboldt, and a bouquet of red roses given to the queen, courtesy of Lang's Flower and Garden Center of Humboldt, The queen will receive a crown and sash from the Humboldt, County Fair Board and a Lane Sweetheart Cedar Chest, given by Martin and Miller Home Interfors of Humboldt, She will also win the honor of representing Humboldt County at the State Fair Contest to be held in August in Des Moines. The Humboldt Business and Professional Women's Club is acting as official hostess to the contest on behalf of the Humboldt County Fair Association, The following candidates are entered in the 1972 queen contest: Lori Curran, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Curran of Humboldt, She will be a junior this fall at Humboldt Community School. Miss Curran is sponsored by Country Florals of Humboldt, Pamela Sue Peters, 17, will be a senior this fall at Gilmore CityBradgate High School.

She is the of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Peters of rural Gilmore City and is sponsored by Kleve Implement Company of Humboldt, Pam Curry, 18, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Curry of Bode, She is a 1972 graduate of Twin Rivers Community School and plans to attend Spencer School of Business.

Miss Curry is sponsored by Bode State Bank.
