Williamson is charged with 22 counts of possession of heroin, four counts of possession with intent to deliver heroin and 18 counts of delivery of heroin. Investigators also concentrated on a shop "in Brookline or Beech-view," Pampena said, but he declined to name it because the investigation is continuing. The wiretaps also revealed several conversations between Williamson and another man arrested yesterday Larry Cerminara of Bellecrest Avenue West, Brentwood in which they allegedly discussed deals to obtain and distribute heroin and other drugs, according to criminal complaints.

Cerminara is charged with four counts of possession of dangerous drugs, two counts of possession of heroin and one count each of possession with intent to deliver dangerous drugs and delivery of dangerous drugs. George Cecil George, 86, a former Gulf Oil Corp. and real estate salesman, died Wednesday of congestive heart failure at Presbyterian Medical Center in Oakmont.

He was born and raised in Elder-ton, Armstrong County. He lived for the past 45 years in Oakmont, most recently on 11th Street. He was a regional sales manager for Gulf Oil Corp. from 1932 until 1959, then was a real estate salesman for O.S. Grubbs Sons of Oakmont, retiring in 1979.

Mr. George was chairman of the Oakmont Tree Commission, past president of the Oakmont Rotary Club, and past president of the Shrine Luncheon Club of Pittsburgh. He was a member of Verona Lodge No. 548, Pennsylvania Consistory, Syria Shrine and Oakmont United Methodist Church, where he was chairman of the board. He was a World War I Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, OUie a daughter, Carolyn G. Frye of Beaver, Beaver County, a son, Kenneth R. of Piedmont, two brothers, Russell and Donald, both of Kittanning, Armstrong County, a sister, Helen McClister of Fort McCoy, and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Thomas D.

Peter Popowicz, formerly of Whited Brookline, now an inmate in the Wayne Gilbert, special agent in charge of the Pittsburgh FBI office, said the arrests "should result in a significant dent" in local auto thefts, which number between 650 and 700 each month in Allegheny County. Cannon said cars, drugs and equipment valued at about 300,000 were confiscated during the course of the investigation.

Stolen cars recovered during the investigation were returned to their owners, he said. Also arrested yesterday was Beatrice Hopkins, 33, of O'Donovan McKees Rocks, who police identified as a clerk for District Justice Mary Ann Cercone of Stowe. She is charged with two counts each of hindering apprehension and criminal conspiracy for allegedly tipping off Williamson and another suspect after state police had obtained warrants to search their property in June, police said. Another suspect Alan Mark Duncan, 28, of Climax Street, Beltz-hoover was identified by Howard two counts of criminal solicitation, and one count of violating the state Pharmacy Act Also overheard on the wiretaps was James "Jed" Descalzi, 37, of Rae Avenue, Mt. Lebanon, who is charged with three counts of possession of heroin, seven counts of criminal conspiracy and two counts each of delivery of heroin and receiving stolen property, police said.

Police said they intercepted conversations in which Descalzi allegedly talked about obtaining a stolen car from Greensburg, about traveling to New York City in June to buy drugs and about arranging heroin deliveries for Williamson and others in January. Based on those conversations, Howard said police believe they have snared "some major level dealers" capable of obtaining large amounts of heroin and other drugs. Officers spotted the car parked near the 630 Bar on Herron Avenue. In a preliminary hearing yesterday, Flaherty testified that he was driving Deputy Controller Kevin Forsythe and a secretary home after the three had worked late. As they neared Forsythe's Bloomfield home at 11:20 p.m., Flaherty said he and his passengers saw a man running from the store. Flaherty said he decided to follow the man after seeing him jump into a car and speed away without lights. He reported the car's license plate and description to police. He said he followed the car through Spring Way, Penn Avenue, 40th Street and back to Liberty Avenue before they could see the license plate closely enough to write it down.
