THE TRIBUNE, JACKSON COUNTY, IND. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5, 2013 A5 Jerry Wayne Brashear Sr. NORTH VERNON Jerry Wayne Brashear 57, of North Vernon, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at his residence. Jerry served in the U.S.

Army from 1973 to 1975. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will be in Shelby Christian Church Cemetery in Ripley County. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.

until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made through the funeral home for expenses. Peggy A. Davis SEYMOUR Peggy A. Davis, 76, Seymour, passed away at 12:05 a.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Lutheran Community Home. She is survived by her husband, Randy Davis. See paper for a complete obituary. Woodlawn Family Funeral Centre is handling the arrangements.

Betty Marie DeWitt NORTH VERNON Betty Marie DeWitt, 90, North Vernon, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at her residence. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.

until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Otter Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County. John William Lubker SEYMOUR John William Lubker, 96, Seymour, passed away Tuesday Dec. 3, 2013, at Lutheran Community Home.

Born Dec. 2, 1917, in Brownstown, he was the son of Orville Henry and Lottie Olive (Berry) Lubker. On Dec. 31, 1941, at Woodside Methodist Church in Indianapolis, he married Wilhilmina Jane Ziegler, who preceded him in death on March 31, 2006. John was a graduate of Brownstown High School.

He also graduated from Coyne Electrical Trade School in Chicago. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and retired from the Indiana Department of Transportation as a bridge tester. He was a member of American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans and First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his children, Glen Lawrence Lubker and John W.

(Kathy) Lubker II; grandson, Dr. John (Kat) Ryan Lubker; great- grandchildren, Elliot Rose Lubker and Kellen William Lubker; and brother, Orville (Laura) Lubker Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Robert Henry Lubker and Howard A. Lubker; and a sister, Ava Merl Benter. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.

Saturday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Sandy Cooper officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled American Veterans 47, and Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour. Family and friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday and from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

4, 2013, at Lutheran Community Home. Born in Jennings County on July 2, 1928, he was the son of William C. and Dollie Ellen (Kinnick) Luedeman. On April 19, 1947, he married B. Faye Stogdill.

She survives. Harry graduated from Hayden High School and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour. At Immanuel Lutheran Church, he served as an elder and held various committee positions. He was employed with Jackson County and Indiana Farm Bureau Co-Op. He along with his wife owned Grocery and Catering and Harry and He was a past member of Seymour Exchange Club and the Elks Club.

He also was a member of the Hayden Historical Museum. He served on the Farm Bureau Credit Union Board for 13 years and the Zoning Board of Appeals in Seymour. Survivors include his wife, B. Faye Luedeman; children, Dianne West, Michael (Rita) Luedeman, Dan Luedeman, Ricky Joe (Maggie) Luedeman and Doug Luedeman (Terry Heck); one brother, Walter (Elsie) Luedeman; a sister, Dorothy (Fenton) Liffick; nine grandchildren, Kevin D. (Michele) West, Jason T.

(Tabitha) West, Daniel C. (Brianne) Luedeman II, Jeremy L. (Amanda) Luedeman, Michelle (Bryan) Schaefer, Craig (Spring) Luedeman, Kari (Drew) Storey, Andy (Kacie) Luedeman and Jeffrey Luedeman; 19 great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clyde Luedeman, William Luedeman and Everett Luedeman; and sisters, Ruth Riggs, Edna Hessler and Lillian Luedeman (infant). A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m.

Monday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch, the Rev. James Rodriguez and Vicar Mark Huff officiating. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Betty Barker Smith CINCINNATI Betty Barker Smith, 81, of Cincinnati, formerly of Seymour, passed away at 8 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013. Born Jan. 3, 1932, in Hazard, she was the daughter of Willard and Ruth (Brooks) Barker.

Betty was a member of Church of God in Cincinnati. She was a restaurant cook for 31 years. She also helped with Meals on Wheels. Survivors include her children, Ruth Lynn Crabtree, Elizabeth Ann Vice and Danny Willard Crabtree; eight grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and a brother, Roger Barker. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rebecca Sue Barker Hollin; brothers, Lloyd Barker, Roy Barker and Leo Barker; and sisters, Geraldine Campbell and Pauline Sbarbati.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Joseph Barker officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family and memorials may be made to St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, through the funeral home.

Edna Mae Smith VALLONIA Edna Mae Smith, 85, Vallonia, passed away at 9:41 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown. Arrangements are pending at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia.

Mary Ann Smith SEYMOUR Mary Ann Smith, 45, of Seymour, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Schneck Medical Center. Mary was an employee of Lutheran Community Home where she worked as a certified nursing assistant. She was Baptist by faith and was helping to raise her grandchildren. Born May 20, 1968, in Lake County, she was the daughter of Jerry L.

Smith, who survives, and the late Anita J. Smith. Survivors include two daughters, Sarah (Josh) Wayt and Shawna (Bryce) Shaeffer; one sister, Kimberly (David) Bonner; two brothers, Jerry (Amy) Smith and Ronnie Smith; and two grandchildren, Gracie and Brylee Smith. She was preceded in death by her mother. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m.

Friday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown, with Floyd Fisher officiating. Burial will be at Kurtz Cemetery, Kurtz. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the family on behalf of the grandchildren.

Lowell N. Stout BUTLERVILLE Lowell N. Stout, 65, of Butlerville, passed away at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at St.

Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Stout, 65 LUBKER LUEDEMAN SMITH Holiday ARTventure slated at center for arts Southern Indiana Center for the Arts is inviting families to a Holiday ARTventure this weekend. The program at 1:30 p.m. Sunday will showcase the Print Shop. Family members will each take a turn printing a holiday greeting card using the old print equipment. Don Hill of Seymour will have a plate ready for all to roll the press and print a card.

Children can have their picture taken with Santa, and families can bring their own camera to take a family picture around the decorated tree and staircase. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served while listening to a holiday story. The event is $10 per family and seating is limited. To reserve your spot, preregis- tration and prepayment is required. The center hopes to make this an annual event and build on it next year with more dates and times available and featuring other areas of the arts center, 2001 N.
