"I think it would be a great move for them to go to him," said McCullough, inducted in the Shore Conference Wrestling Hall of Fame this year. "He's a guy who will put 100 percent into it. The kids all look up to him. Hopefully, they'll consider him." Lacey was 4-10-1 under McCullough last year. "I just felt it wasn't fair to the kids," said McCullough, a two-time state champion at Brick in the mid-70s, last night.

"As a head coach, you have responsibilities in the off-season that really can't be done without being in the school. It was the same during the season, you're 'not able to deal with the day-to-day problems." McCullough said he hopes his assistant coach, Ken Hart, gets the job. PRESS STAFF REPORT DAN McCULLOUGH has resigned his post as Lacey High School wrestling coach after one year. McCullough, who held the post for one year, teaches in Brick and lives in Lacey. His resignation was accepted by the Lacey Township Board of Education on Monday.

McCullough said not being in the school on a day-to-day basis made the job impossible.
