The drama is based on the novel by Jonathan Kellerman, which won the 1986 Mystery Writers of America's Edgar Allen Poe Award for Best First Novel. The cast also includes Richard Masur, Rachel Ticotin and Kim Myori. There will be a couple of new faces at the St. Gregory when "Hotel" begins its fourth season.

By Ian Banner HOLLYWOOD From the second Farm Aid Concert on July 4, through a barrage of TV news and talk-show appearances to his latest United States tour this month, Spanish singer Julio Iglesias remains one of the most relentlessly promoted personalities in the history of hyperbole. As a result, he's incurred the wrath of reporters and reviewers who have written thousands of words of invective about him, overlooking the ancient Hollywood adage that there is no such thing as bad publicity. And the truth is that Iglesias's four-year campaign to parlay his stupendous stardom in Europe and Latin America into similar status in the United States has been an unqualified success. Reviews don't matter much set against the simple fact that 4,000 people a night are willing to pay $50 per head to hear him sing at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, or that his TV DIALOGUE Clark is 56 years young; William Shatner is 55 AGELESS Please settle a dispute for some senior citizens. I want to be accepted as 'the old and that is the purpose of being on television and doing interviews with newspapers. "Another purpose, of course, is that my ego likes me to be treated like a star!" The Iglesias ego draws great satisfaction from the fact that he has broken house records at Caesar's Palace, and that until recently, the hotel's most celebrated draw was Frank Sinatra. "I am happy to admit that the publicity campaign was for my own personal ego," says Iglesias. "Absolutely! Every true artist has a big ego, and it made me crazy that I could sell more than 100 million albums around the world and no one in the USA knew who I was. "But even my ego is not big enough to fill a concert hall on its own," he continues. "People might pay to see me once because of a publicity campaign, but they would not come back to see me again and again if they did not enjoy my performance." Edelsteln Have you heard the There's good rockin' tonight on "Cinemax Sessions: Fats Domino and Friends." one of the liveliest music specials seen on cable in some time.

Fats Domino was never as flamboyant or controversial as many of his rock 'n' roll contemporaries, lacking the electricity of IJttle Richard or the sensuality of Elvis Presley. Yet, in his understated way, the New Orleans singer-pianist ranks as one of rock's founding fathers. He brought the New Orleans school of rhythm-and-blues piano into the mainstream; his exuberant piano playing and rhythmic, humorous singing created dozens of hits, including "Blueberry' Hill," "I'm Walkin" and "Ain't That a Shame." He's 58, but as this special shows, he hasn't slowed down a beat. Domino's "friends" who appear on ON THE CABLE this show are two other charter members of the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame, Jerry Lee and Ray Charles. who has had his share of emotional and physical turmoil in the past few years appears to be in good health as he once again trots out his two rock 'n' roll classics, "Great Balls of Fire" and "Whole Lotta Shakin' Going On," although he looked a little shaky climbing on top of the piano.

When the three pioneers jammed together, it was one of those transcendent moments that affirms the validity of the prediction made 28 years ago that "rock 'n' roll is here to stay." Also on hand for the special, taped in June at the Storvville Jazz Hall in New Orleans, are Paul Shaffer, the music director of Night with David lyetterman" and Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones, who jam together. A rock 'n' roll reunion for another generation will be aired later thus year on HBO. Last month, several '60s rockers gathered at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco to pay tribute to promoter Bill Graham on his 20th anniversary in the business. On hand were Joe Cocker, Joan Baez, Donovan, John Sebastian, Sly and the Family Stone and the Chambers Brothers. The special, "A Night at the Fillmore," will air in the fall and will include footage from Graham's personal archives.

You have to grow up sometime.

"This will either be the last tour that I do or I'll go on. I'll tell you after the tour." Obviously, the Tartan Terror decided that 41 isn't too old to rock 'n' roll after all, because he has now started a European tour to support his current album, "Rod and is planning to play across America starting in the fall.
