ALAIMO, 71, of SOUTH TOMS RIVER, died Saturday, May 3, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was a bus driver for the Wagner Tour North Haledon, for 20 years. He was a Marine Corps veteran.

He was a member of the Toms River Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6063 AJ Weeks Lodge and a member of the Marine Corps League Detachment 796 of Toms River, and the American Legion Post 129. Born in Yonkers, N.Y., he lived in Haledon before moving to Toms River in 1985. He was predeceased by a son, Richard N. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Moscariello Alaimo; a son, Todd N. of Colts Neck; two daughters, Sherrie Newbury of Hudson, and Melanie Slater of South Toms River; a sister, Mary Rinaldi of Yonkers; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 7, at the Toms River American Legion Post 129. Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, Toms River, is in charge of arrangements. JESSE KARL BECKER, 27, of Germantown, formerly of TOMS RIVER, died Monday, May 12, in Rochester, Minn. Born in Toms River, he was a former resident of Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach, and graduated from Oscar Smith High School in 1994.

He had been employed by Delex Systems, Inc. in Vienna, as a graphic illustrator. Surviving are his mother, Sharon Becker, and her partner, Michael Payne, of Germantown, his father and stepmother, Bruce and Susan Becker of Chesapeake; a brother, Justin Becker of Chesapeake; his paternal grandmother, Edna Becker of Siler City, N.C.; his maternal grandmother, Nora Jelley of Toms River; his aunt and uncle, Donna and Michael Harris of Jupiter, his uncle, Bernhard Becker of Allentown; and his aunt and uncle, Martha and Kyle Mooney of Brick. "OLLIE" BRYER, 87, of BRICK, died Tuesday, May 13, at Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Brick. She was employed for 10 years in the executive dining room of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, New York City, retiring in 1977. Prior to that, she worked as a candy maker for 12 years with the Quaker Maid Company, Brooklyn. She was a parishioner of Epiphany Roman Catholic Church, Brick, where she was a member of its Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council, Brooklyn.

Born in Throop, she lived in Staten Island and Brooklyn before moving to Brick 22 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Matthew M. Bryer in 1982. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Matthew M. III and Patricia of Toms River; two daughters, Mary Ann Hutchinson of Toms River, and June Elizabeth Tomasuolo of Howell; a brother, David Tarnosky of Staten Island; two sisters, Rose S.

She was a clerk for the ABC Caging and Fulfillment Services Toms River, for many years. She was a communicant of St. Justin's Roman Catholic Church, Toms River. Born in Jersey City, she resided there before moving to Toms River in 1965. She was predeceased by her husband, Bonifice "Benny" Contey, on Oct.

2, 1993. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Gene Francis of Toms River; two brothers, Vincent Lentini of Cape Coral, and Frank Lentini of Eatontown; two sisters, Antoinette Raso of Toms River, a and Barbara Lentini of Brick; and three grandchildren, Christine, Michael and Richard. Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River.

RITA MC GIVNEY DE LUCCI, 76, of Silver Ridge Park West, BERKELEY, died Monday, May 12, at Tallwoods Nursing Home, Bayville, Berkeley. She was a homemaker. She was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe Roman Catholic Church, Toms River. Born in Queens, she lived in Staten Island before moving to Berkeley 13 years ago.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Joseph a retired officer of the New York Police Department; a son, Thomas of Hartsdale, N.Y.; two daughters, Dorothy Jud of Brooklyn, and Marie Gullstrand of Jackson; and three grandchildren, Melissa, Kelly and Matthew. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals, 145 St.

Surviving are his wife, Stephanie Vitoria Frezza; two sons, Mario Frezza of Nutley, and Stephen Frezza of California; a daughter, Angela O'Leary of Jackson; and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the Holiday City Berkeley First Aid Squad. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. QUINN-HOPPING TOMS 240-3800 RIVER, N.J. CAROL ANN SMITH NORTON GAPINSKI, 61, of BRICK, died Saturday, May 10, of cancer. She was a member of the Calvary Lighthouse Church.

Her faith in the Lord helped her through. Known as "Ma" or Aunt Carol," she dedicated her life to raising her three children. She was quick to help others. She enjoyed crocheting, and could be found feeding the ducks or squirrels or helping a stray. She always had a funny story to tell and a Nintendo controller in her hand.

Surviving are her husband, Douglas; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Artie and Andrea Smith, and John Randy Smith, both of Brick; a daughter, Tammy Eiseman of Florida; and a grandson, Billy Eiseman. Viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with a funeral service at 8:30 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Route 88, Brick.

A memorial service will also be offered at 10 a.m. Friday at Calvary Lighthouse Church, Lakewood. PATRICIA A. HARDAWAY, 78, of MANCHESTER, died Sun- day, May 11, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Lakehurst, and active in Leisure Knoll Clubs.

Born in Boston, she lived in Parsippany before moving to Manchester 18 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Z. Hardaway, in 1998. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Henry Z. Jr.

and Maureen Hardaway of Moultonborough, N.H.; a daughter, Jane Hardaway Pattee of Sandy, Utah; a brother; five sisters; and two great private. Interment will take place in Hebron, Ky. RODGERS HOLDEN, 102, of BRICK, formerly of Neptune City, died Sunday, May 11, at the Burnt Tavern Rehabilitation and Convalescent Center, Brick.

She was a house mother at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, retiring at the age of 80. She also worked with mentally challenged children while living in Florida. She was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church of Neptune City. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star Ocean Chapter 214. She joined the OES in East Rutherford in 1927 and transferred to the Ocean Chapter in the early 1960s.

She was also a member of the Neptune City Senior Citizens. KUMINSKI. 86, of TOMS RIVER, died Tues- day, May 13, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Justin's Roman Catholic Church, Toms River. She and her late husband summered in the Gilford Park section of Dover since 1950.

Born in Jersey City, she lived in Brooklyn before moving to Gilford Park 29 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Adam, in 2001. Surviving are a son, Martin of Middletown; a daughter, JoAnn DiMaria of Brooklyn; three grandchildren, Lenny and Tara Kuminski, and Richard DiMaria; and four grandchildren, Brooke and Jessica Kuminski, and Emma and Aidan DiMaria. A viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

ANDERSON CAMPBELL 349-5700 GEORGE F. MUERDTER, 93, of Whiting, MANCHESTER, died Tuesday, May 13, at home. He transported handicapped children for the Warwick Valley Central Schools, Warwick, N.Y., before retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Masonic Order, Doric Temple 560, 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He was a World War II Navy veteran, serving from 1942 to 1944.

Born in West Hoboken, he lived in Warwick and Toms River before moving to Whiting 10 years ago. He was predeceased by his wife, Theodora Pezzia Muerdter, in 1997. Surviving are a daughter, Roberta Peterson of Teaneck; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at DeGraff Lakehurst Funeral Home, 119 Union Lakehurst.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. GRACE STEWART MULLER, 84, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., formerly of BRICK, died Thursday, May 8, at Wesley Health Care Center, Saratoga Springs, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease and a series of illnesses. Born in Great Neck, N.Y., she attended both Hunter High School and Hunter College in New York City, receiving her baccalaureate degree in 1939. She was employed as a secretary at St.

Peter's Lutheran Church and later by Colliers Publishing New York City. She married Herbert H. Muller on May 16, 1943, becoming a full-time homemaker and mother of three. After raising her family, she returned to work as an administrative assistant for several organizations. She and her husband resided in New York City, Fort Lee, Montclair, and Greenlawn, Long Island, before retiring to the Greenbriar Community in Brick in 1973.

After her husband's death in 1992, she relocated to South Glens Falls, N.Y., and Saratoga Springs. She was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles, music and handcrafts. She taught Sunday school for many years and served as the Sunday School superintendent. In retirement, she worked as a volunteer at the Point Pleasant Hospital and was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Brick.

Her greatest pleasure came from the time spent with her family and especially her grandchildren, who brought much joy to her life. She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert M. Muller; and a brother, Edward A. Stewart. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Richard A.

and Karen L. Muller of Toms River; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen J. and Thomas A. Panebianco Jr. of Toms River, and Christine G.

and Jeffrey H. Levy of South Glens Falls; seven grandchildren, Richard Kenneth and Daniel Muller, Jessica and Michael Panebianco, Eric Reed and Elizabeth Levy; and a great- granddaughter, Cara Muller. A memorial service followed by interment will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Brick.

EUGENE RICHTER, 91, of Whiting, MANCHESTER, formerly of Union, died Monday, May 12, at Bartley Healthcare, Jackson. He worked as an instrument designer for Weston Electrical Instrument Newark, retiring in 1974.

He was a member of the Union Masons Lodge 33, where he was a master. He was an exempt volunteer fireman for the Union Fire Department. Born in Newark, he lived in Union before moving to Whiting in 1965. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Fekete Richter. Surviving are a brother, Russell Richter; a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; three nephews; and a niece.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Union. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. WILLIAM G. SHILTON, 85, of BRICK, died Monday, May 12, at home. He retired as plant wire chief of Bell Telephone of Sharon, after 43 years of service, in 1980. He attended Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh.

He was a captain i in the U.S. Army Signal Corps during World War II. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, past president of the Western Pennsylvania Personnel Association and a member of the Pioneer Club, all of Sharon. He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Lodge of the Craft 433, New Castle, Pa. Born in New Castle, he lived in Pittsburgh and Brookfield, Ohio, before moving to Brick in 1985.

Surviving are his wife, Elaine G. Reuter Shilton; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Bonnie Shilton of Manassas, a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and James Mutimer of Wyomissing, a sister, Jayne Wohleber of Niceville, and a grandson, Jeffery Mutimer of Arlington, Va. Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River.

Funeral services will be Saturday; arrive at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be 11:30 a.m. Monday in Brig.

She was a homemaker. She was a volunteer at Deborah Hospital where she was a fund for the hospital. She was born in Newark. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Harry P. Stengel.

Surviving are two daughters, Joan Vaughan of Richmond, and Dayle Skibbe of Somers Point; and three grandchildren, Christine Snively, Kimberly Stembridge, and Lori Skibbe. 78, of FREEHOLD, died Tuesday, May 13, at home. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Freehold, and was a Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Den Mother. Born in Freehold, she was a lifelong resi- dent. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis A. Cunningham, in 1986; and a sister, Lillian Malekovich, in 1985.

Surviving are a son and daughter-inlaw, Michael A. and Robin Cunningham of Howell; a daughter, Jane F. Cunningham of Freehold; a brother, Michael Demchenko of Alaska; a brother law, Charles Malekovich of Freehold; three grandchildren, Michelle Cranwell and her husband, Robert, of Lakewood, Sgt. Church, Dalzell, S.C., before moving to Neptune and becoming an active member of St. Stephen's A.M.E. Zion Church, Asbury Park. She was predeceased by her husband, Jimmie Alston, in 1966; and two sons, Jessie V. Alston Sr.

and Manning (Claborn) Alston. Surviving are four daughters, Jimmie L. Harper, Susie M. Alston, and Helen Clanton of Neptune, and Dorothy E. Butts of Irvington; a son, Marshall Alston of Neptune; a brother, William Jackson of Mahwah; six grandchildren, Darrell, Ivan, J.V., Venessa, Tanya and Marshander; three great-grandchildren, Tranel, Chris and Brian; four nieces, Mary Grace, Debra, Donna and Delores; a nephew, William Arthur; two sons-in-law, Freddie H.
