She was installed in the Monmouth County Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service in August 1983. She was treasurer in the Monday Night Mixed League for 10 years, secretary of Monmouth County Major League for 15 years.

She worked for many years at the Lawley Agency in Red Bank. She worked as secretary at the Law Office of Martin McGann, Red Bank, before moving to California in 1988. Surviving are two sons, Douglas J. Kenner of LaMesa, and Robert H. Kenner of Phoenix, two grandsons, Douglas Kenner Jr.

of Phoenix, and Robert Kenner Jr. of Georgia; a granddaughter, Michelle Vaughn of Phoenix; two greatgrandsons, Adam and Anthony Vaughn of Phoenix; a niece, Joanne Coleridge of Atlantic Highlands; a nephew, Charles F. Schwarz of Leonardo, Middletown; two grandnieces; and two grandnephews. A graveside service will be in Fairview Cemetery, a later date. FREDERICK C.

KNEER, 94, of Bridgewater, formerly of FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the New Jersey Eastern Star Home, Bridgewater. He was a retired title attorney. He was a member of Peter's Episcopal Church, Freehold. He was a past master of A.M.

Lodge, Jersey City, a past patron of Molly Pitcher Chapter 198, Order of the Eastern Star, Freehold, a member of Peninsula Lodge 99, A.M. Bayonne, and a former member of the Monmouth County Bar Association. Born in Jersey City, 1 he lived in Freehold Township before moving to Bridgewater six years ago. His wife, Ruth Kneer, died in 1998. Surviving are two nieces, Jean Sowers and Nancy Michael; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Freehold. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at St.

29, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was a tool and dye engineer for Standard Keil, Allenwood, Wall, before retiring 20 years ago. Previously, he worked for Jenkinson's Tool Dye, Kenilworth. He and his wife, Alberta, trained and showed German shepherds with the American Kennel Club, and in 1960 he trained all of the Wall Township police dogs. He was a graduate of Hillside High School and played semi-professional football with the Bears.

Born in Newark, he lived in Hillside and Wall before moving to Asbury Park four years ago. He was predeceased by his wife, Alberta Day Krasowski, in 1997; and a sister, Lucille Menachan, in 2003. Surviving are a son and Spurge and Judy Krasowski of Manasquan; a brother, Leonard Krasowski of South Carolina; two grandchildren, Brad and his wife, Heather, and Peter and his wife, Carol; and three greatgrandchildren, Emma, Brad, and Margo. He was a supervisor of research in pathology at the Veterans Hospital, East Orange, for 30 years, retiring in 1972.

He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2140, Long Branch. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Oceanport for 40 years before moving to Monmouth Beach in 2002. Surviving are his wife, Concetta Valentino Benante; and a son, Carl Benante of Monmouth Beach.

Relatives and friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Damiano Funeral Home, corner of Third and Franklin avenues, Long Branch. The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday from the funeral home with a service to begin at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will be in Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport.

She was a retired science professor at Monmouth College, West Long Branch. She was a graduate of Hunter College.

She was a communicant of the Church of the Ascension, Bradley Beach, and was very active in the Travel Club at the church. Born i in New York City, she lived in West Long Branch before moving to Bradley Beach. Surviving are many friends. HARRIS, 87, formerly of NEPTUNE, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Manor by the Sea, Ocean Grove. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Ann Jenkins, in 1999. Surviving are a sister, Mary Jane Widler of Whiting, Manchester; a brother, Donald P.

GAIL M. HARVEY, 69, of Princeton and Kennebunk, Maine, whose daughter lives in LITTLE SILVER, died Sunday, Oct. 26, at the University Medical Center at Princeton. Born, raised and educated in Rahway, she was a graduate of Rahway High School and Wheaton College, Norton, where she received an A.B. degree.

She and her husband were married on May 26, 1962 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Rahway. She was a resident of both Princeton and Kennebunk, Maine. Previously, she had been a resident of Upper Saddle River. She was a member of the Present Day Club of Princeton.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Arthur Molitor. Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Norman R. Harvey, to whom she married on May 26, 1962 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Rahway; a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Brian Riddle of Little Silver; a brother, Arthur A. Molitor Jr.

He was a welder by trade and worked with the American Switchboard White Plains, N.Y., for eight years, retiring in 1996. Born in Jamaica, West Indies, he made his home in Asbury Park for the last 22 years. He was predeceased by his mother, Maude Hayle Jenkins, in 1995; his father, Alfred E. Jenkins, in 1947; and a brother, Vernal Thomas Jenkins, in 1979. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Yvonne Moore Jenkins; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Canute and Annette Fort Lauderdale, Ronald of Asbury Park, Courtney and Sybil of Neptune, and Devon of Asbury Park; five daughters and two sons-in-law, Donna of Queens, Juliet and Horatio Lewis of Fort Lauderdale, Dahlia of Neptune, Carolyn of Ocean Township, and Andrea and Richard Jones of Palmdale, a sister, Etheline Cooper of Neptune; four brothers, Edward of Jamaica, West Indies, Kenneth of London, England, Raphael of Port St.

BINNS KENNER, 88, of LaMesa, formerly of Belford, MIDDLETOWN, died Sunday, Oct. 26, at Sharp Chula Vista Hospital, Chula Vista, Calif. JOHN J. MEADE 85, of OCEAN GROVE, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was executive director of the state Board of Accounting and Board of Shorthand Reporting, retiring in 1993 after 15 years. He was a commissioner of the Department of Public Affairs for the City of Orange for four years.

Previously, he was a sales representative for the St. Regis Paper Co. He was a communicant of Holy Spirit Church, Asbury Park. He was a lector at Our Lady of the Valley Church, Orange, and also president of the high school's PTA. He was an altar server and lector at St.

Venantius Church, Orange. He was a graduate and active alumni of St. Benedict's Prep, Newark, and Seton Hall University, South Orange. He was founder of the Shore Setonians and was the recipient of the Golden Pirate Award in 2002 from the Seton Hall Alumni Association. He was chairman of the Planning Board and on the Library Board for the City of Orange.

He was a member of the Board of Education and Board of Recreation for the City of East Orange. He was a part-time reporter for the Coaster. He was a former trustee and program director for the Ocean Grove Homeowners Association. He was an active public relations person for many local civic organizations. He delivered Meals On Wheels for several years for the Neptune Senior Center before he became ill.

He was a lieutenant in the Army Medical Corps during World War II in Carlisle, Pa. Born and raised in East Orange, he lived in Orange before moving to Ocean Grove 12 years ago. He was predeceased by his first wife, Eleanor L. Meade, in 1989; and a son, Lance Cpl. Thomas A.

Meade, in 1968. Surviving are his wife, Mary E. Wickens Meade; three sons, John J. Jr. of Maplewood, Michael C.

of Newark, and Christopher of Kenilworth; three daughters, Mary Beth Gaffney of Phoenix, Kathleen M. Meade of Orange, and Eleanor M. Ewell of Chapel Hill, N.C.; 22 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and five stepchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Buckley Funeral Home, 509 Second Asbury Park.

Further visitation will be on Sunday at Codey Funeral Home, Orange. A funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Church, West Orange. Interment will be in Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.

She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Dorothea's Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown. She loved to sew, knit and crochet. Born in Plainfield, she lived in Lincroft, Middletown, before moving to Eatontown 32 years ago. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Edna Bennett Diem.

Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Lawrence "Larry" P. Meshkowitz; a son, Michael D. Meshkowitz of Eatontown; and two cousins, Edward Bennett and Linda Morgan. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

JOYCE ANN PLATTS, 46, of LONG BRANCH, died Monday, Oct. 27, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church, Long Branch. Born in Long Branch, she was a lifelong Shore area resident. She was predeceased by her father, Willie Mack Platts; and two sisters, Delores Platts and Jeanette Platts.

Surviving are a daughter, Lucky Wiggins, and a son, Jamaal Platts, both of Long Branch; her mother, Jeanette Platts of Long Branch; two sisters, Allison and Platts, of Long Branch; seven brothers, Anthony, Stan- seven brothers, ley, Gordon, Oral, Willie, Clifton, and Eric Platts, all of Long Branch; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. LUCILLE D. SAGGAN RINKER, 82, of West Keans- burg, HAZLET, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a homemaker. Born in Newark, she lived in North Centerville and East Keansburg before moving to West Keansburg in 1953.

She was predeceased by her husband, George Rinker in 1985; and a daughter, Diane Farwell, in 2000. Surviving are a son, George Rinker Jr. of West Keansburg; a daughter, Eileen J. Rinker of West Keansburg; a grandson, Daniel Farwell of Tinton Falls; a granddaughter and her husband, Jacqueline and Shawn Reynolds of Tinton Falls; a great-grandson, Jaren Reynolds of Tinton Falls; and a great-granddaughter, Samantha Reynolds of Tinton Falls. ROBERTS, 77, of NEPTUNE, died Monday, Oct. 27, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Alabama, he retired from the Army in June 1968 after 23 years of service. He started his second career with the U.S. Postal Service, working in Lakewood and then in Asbury Park, where he retired in June 1983 after 15 years of service.

A lover of reading with a thirst for knowledge, he began his studies at what is now Tuskegee University, one of the member colleges of the historically black college and university family. He completed work to obtain his bachelor of arts degree in industrial education from Kean University in June 1985. He served as the treasurer of the Mount Pisgah Lodge 48 P.H.A., and was a 32nd degree mason of the Samuel W. Gordon Consistory 50, and was a member of the King Solomon 8 Royal Arch all in Asbury Park. He was an active member of Second Baptist Church of Asbury Park for nearly 50 years.

He served on the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Monmouth County for the past 15 years; was a member of the Monmouth County Committee, a scholarship organization that benefits high school seniors in Monmouth County, a director with the Neptune Township Education Foundation, and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was predeceased by his parents, Lonnie and Elnora. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Edna McKee Roberts; his children, Sharon Roberts of New York City, Robin Roberts Danner of Plainfield, and Ronald Roberts of Neptune; a son-inlaw, William Danner three VI, James Danner, all of grandchildren, Carla, William Plainfield; two nieces and their husbands, Edna and Douglas Fails, and Shirley and David Todd; and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends. A funeral gathering will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, with a Frederick Dempsey Post 266 American Legion service at 10 a.m., and Mount Pisgah Masonic Lodge 48 (PHA) service at 10:30 a.m.

She was a member of the Middletown Boosters, the 15 A Club, and was the treasurer of the Affiliated Republican Club of Monmouth County. She made it her life's work to be a devoted mother and grandmother, and was a lifetime Giants fan. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert J. Siegfried, in 1981; and a son, Barry W. "Chip" Siegfried, in 1991.

Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Rosemary of Little Rock, Timothy and Donna of Middletown, and Michael and Susan of Middletown; a sister, Jean Murray of Middletown; eight grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Beth Burdge. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Red Bank.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Middletown United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. LYDIA KASERKIE SMITHERS, 81, of WALL, died Tuesday, Oct.

28, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was a clerk and waitress at Jumping Brook Coffee Shop, Neptune, for many years. Born in Newark, she lived in Neptune before moving to Wall in 1990. She was predeceased by a son, James D. in 1958; and a daughter, Patricia Lowitz Killeen, in 1995.

Surviving are her husband. James a daughter, Kelli A. Smithers; two sisters, Helen Yatzsko of Newark, and Bertha Kaczka of Newport News, and two grandsons, Fred and Dan Lowitz. Services will be at noon today in Atlantic View Cemetery, Church Road, Manasquan. Kedz Funeral Home, Toms River, is in charge of arrangements.

OCEAN SILVIO F. ALLEGRETTI, 69, of BARNEGAT, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Englewood, he served in the Air Force during the Korean War and settled and raised his family in New Jersey and moved to Barnegat in 1993. He retired in 1993 after working over 30 years in the communications industry.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Allegretti Surdez, in 1996. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Anna; two sons, John of Barnegat, and Michael of Forked River, Lacey; a daughter, Nora Allegretti of Barnegat; a brother, Nick Allegretti, and a sister, Fran Allegretti, both of Toms River; and two grandchildren, Richard Surdez and Steven Surdez, both of Forked River. Visiting will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Anderson Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main Toms River.
