Asbury Park Jan. 8, 1981 A15 Miss Aileen I. Hogan, professor of nursing MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP Aileen Hogan, a former professor of nursing and specialist on natural childbirth and pre-natal care, died, yesterday at the Medi-Center, Lakewood. She was 81. She was born in Ottawa and lived most of her life in New York before moving here a year ago from Somers Point.

Miss Hogan was a professor of nursing at Western Reserve University, Cleveland, from 1947 to 1951. She was the first executive secretary the American College of Nurses of Midwifery, New York. She had lectured extensively on natural childbirth and pre-natal care throughout the United States and Canada before retiring in 1974. During World War II Miss Hogan served in the Army Nurse Corps. She participated in the Normandy invasion.

She was a member of the American Nursing Association and a communicant St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Church, here. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Frederick Peters, with whom she lived. The Manchester Memorial Funeral Home, here, is in charge of arrangements.

CHARLES B. MAHER SPRING LAKE Charles B. Maher, a retired electrician, died yesterday at the Toms River Convalescent Center. He was 82. He was born in Danbury, and lived in Brooklyn and for 50 years in Keansburg before moving here in 1970.

Before retiring in 1958, Mr. Maher worked at Fort Monmouth. Earlier, he worked at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. He was a communicant of St. Catharine's Roman Catholic Church, here.

His father was the late Congressman James P. Maher, Brooklyn. Surviving are his wife, the former Nettie C. Burns; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Borg, here, seven grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

The O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township, is in charge of arrangements. SISTER IRMA ELIZABETH ST. PIERRE BELMAR Sister Irma Elizabeth St. Pierre, librarian at St. Rose Grammar School, here, died yesterday in Melbourne, while visiting relatives.

She was 79 and lived at the St. Rose convent. She was born in Harrisburg, and lived here from 1949 to 1953 and from 1968 until the time of her death. Sister Irma had been a grammar school teacher for 54 years. She taught at schools in Wilmington, Philadelphia, Conshohocken, and Newark.

She was a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Chestnut Hill, Pa. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Alice Galbraith, Boston, and several nieces and nephews. The Reilly Funeral Home, here, is in charge of arrangements.

MRS. ETHEL P. NAUGHRIGHT OCEAN GROVE Ethel P. Naughright, 93, of Clark Avenue, died Tuesday at the Ocean Grove Nursing Home, here. She was born in Tottenville, Staten Island, N.Y., and lived in Morristown before moving here 34 years ago.

Mrs. Naughright was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Asbury Park. Her husband, Raymond died in 1946. Surviving are two nephews and a niece. The Ocean Grove Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

JOHN F. BISHOP ASBURY PARK John F. Bishop, 47, died Tuesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Lyons, Bernards Township. He was born in Rumford, Maine, and lived in Neptune for many years before moving here nine years ago. Surviving are his father, Kola, Farmingdale; a brother, Gustaf Conoga Park, and a sister, Mrs.

former Monmouth County, election clerk, died yesterday at the Red Bank Convalescent Center, here. He was 75. He was born in Freehold and lived there most of his life. Mr. Hartman served as county election clerk from 1956 1963.

He worked for the county for 30 of years, and had been assistant election clerk until 1956. From 1956 until 1963 he was district inheritance tax supervisor in Monmouth County for the state HARTMAN MRS. FRANK W. RAINBOW LONG BRANCH Barbara Ketschek Rainbow, 66, died Tuesday at Monmouth Medical Center. She was born in New York and lived in Mays Landing, Hamilton Township, before moving here 16 years ago.

Surviving are her husband, Frank three daughters, Mrs. Patricia Carman, Egg Harbor Township, Mrs. Nancy Hoagland, Hamilton Township, and Mrs. Debra Horniacek, here; four brothers, Michael Ketschek and Nicholas Ketschek, both Hamilton Township, Peter Ketschek, Runnemede, and Jacob Ketschek, Pleasantville; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Thorpe, Eatontown, and Mrs.

Ann Fox, Mrs. Mary Thorpe and Mrs. Katherine Bolf, all Pleasantville, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The Boakes Funeral Home, Hamilton Township, is in charge of arrangements. MRS.

HENRY PRIOR ISLAND HEIGHTS Catherine Prior, 88, died yesterday at Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River. She was born in Dundee, Scotland, came to this country in 1913 and lived in the Dublin section of Paterson for 63 years before moving here four years ago. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Paterson. Her husband, Henry, died in 1965.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Peter Hennen, Whiting, Manchester Township; two sons, James, here, and John, Edina, a sister, Mrs. Hannah Carpenter, Simcoe, Ontario, 18 grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. The McNerney-Burnadz Memorial Home, Clifton, is in charge of arrangements. MRS.

WILLIAM J. HERD RED BANK May Herd, 83, of West Bergen Place, died Monday at Riverview Hospital. She was born in Vidalia, and lived here for 60 years. Surviving are her husband, William three daughters, Mrs. Willa James, Eatontown, and Mrs.

Ruby Cosby and Mrs. Bessie Jones, both here, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The Cofer Memorial Home, here, is in charge of arrangements. MILTON E. KNOX LONG BRANCH Milton E.

Knox, a retired school custodian, died Tuesday at Monmouth Medical Center. He was 63 and lived at Seaview Manor. He was a lifelong resident here. Mr. Knox worked for the Board of Education, here, before retiring.

He was a member of the Second Baptist Church, here. Surviving are a brother, Robert, and a niece, Mrs. Joyce Sartor, both here, two great -nieces and two great-nephews. The Cofer Memorial Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs.

Ruth A. Ruban, Lavallette tax assessor BRICK TOWNSHIP Ruth A. Ruban, who had served as Lavallette tax assessor for the past five years, rs. died Tuesday at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, after a long illness. She was 50.

She was born in Roselle Park and had lived here since 1948. Before becoming tax assessor in Lavallette, Mrs. Ruban worked as tax assessor here for 22 years. She was a member of Faith Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Point Pleasant, where she was organist for many years. Mrs.

Ruban was a member of the Brick Township Presbyterian Church. Her husband, Kenneth, died in 1979. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Odette Barnfield and Mrs. Linda Blank, both here; her father, Franklin Titus, Elizabeth; a sister, Mrs.

Donald Apsley, Roselle Park, and two granddaughters, Christine and Janine. The Weatherhead-Young Funeral Home, here, is in charge of arrangements. MRS. ANNA K. VANDEN HEUVEL MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP Anna K.

VandenHeuvel, 76, of Crestwood Village, died Tuesday at Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River. She was born in New York and lived most of her life in Lyndhurst Township before moving here in 1972. Mrs. VandenHeuvel was a member and past matron of Fraternity Chapter 129, Order of the Eastern Star, Lyndhurst Township. She was a past district deputy of the 21st District, Order of the Eastern Star of New Jersey, and a member of the Crestwood Stars.

Mrs. VandenHeuvel was a member of the Evangelical Congregational Church, here. Surviving are her husband, Clarence A. VandenHeuvel; a son, Robert Saginaw, two brothers, Charles Detjen, West Dummerston, and Walter Detjen, Cliffside Park; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Freeman, Jersey City, two grandchildren.

The Anderson Campbell Funeral Home, here, is in charge of arrangements. MRS. FRED STUMPF LACEY TOWNSHIP Helen T. Stumpf, a retired secretary, died yesterday at Community Memorial Hospital, Toms River. She was 84 and lived in Forked River.

She' was born in Jersey City and lived in North Bergen Township before moving here 40 years Mrs. Stumpf retired in 1951 after many years as a secretary with the Consolidated Natural Gas New York. She was a member of the Lady Guard and the Forked River Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons. Mrs. Stumpf was a member of the Forked River Presbyterian Church and its Lenda-Hand Club.

Her husband, Fred Stumpf, died in 1963. Surviving are a brother, Oscar J. Ekegren, Congers, N.Y., and three sisters, Mrs. Elna Litzenberg, Manchester Township, and Mrs. Christine Nunner and Miss Esther Ekegren, both here.

She was 88. She was born in Keyport and lived in Middletown Township before moving here five years ago. Mrs. Thorne and her late husband, Joseph W. Thorne, owned and operated a farm in Middletown Township before his death in.

1968. She was a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Reformed Church of Middletown. Surviving are a son, Donald E. Thorne, with whom she lived; a daughter, Mrs. Etta Sergewich, Shrewsbury; a sister, Mrs.

MRS. MADLYN S. ASHBY ARRINGTON PLEASANTVILLE Mrs. Madlyn S. Ashby Arrington, 75, died Tuesday in Cocoa, Fla.

She was born in Newport News, and lived here 40 years. Mrs. Arrington was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, here. She was the daughter of the late Rev.

J.H. Ashby, former pastor of the Second Baptist Church, Asbury Park, and the late Mrs. Ashby. Surviving are seven sons, Norman and Vernon, both Egg Harbor City, Maurice, David, Robert and Leon, all here, and Carl, Detroit; a daughter, Mrs. Frances Martin, here; three brothers, Stanley Ashby and Carl Ashby, both St.

Albans, N.Y., and Aubrey Ashby, Philadelphia; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Smith, Rockledge, and Mrs. Theresa Ogilvie, Fort Lee, 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. ISADORE GARBER MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP Isadore Garber, who owned a plumbing and heating supplies store before retiring, died Tuesday at Riverview Hospital, Red Bank.

He was 85 and lived on McCutcheon Court. He was born in Odessa, Russia, and lived in Laurence Harbor, Old Bridge Township, before moving here five years ago. Mr. Garber retired in 1973 after 45 years as owner and operator of Garber Plumbing and Heating Supplies, Laurence Harbor. He was a member of Lodge 2230, BPO Elks, Keyport, and the Laurence Harbor Lions Club, and an honorary member of the Laurence Harbor Fire Company.

He was an Army veteran of World War I. Surviving' are his wife, Clara Kuncken Garber; a son, William, Pompano Beach, a sister in Israel, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The Day Funeral Home, Keyport, is in charge of arrangements. FREDERICK A. PATTISON MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP Frederick A.

Pattison, a retired computer supervisor, died yesterday at Overlook Hospital, Summit. He was 66 and lived in Leisure Village West. He was born in Brooklyn and lived most of his life in Westfield before moving here in 1980. Mr. Pattison retired in 1977 after more than 30 years with the Exxon Linden.

He was a graduate of New York University, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Westfield. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Cowin; a son, James Shaverton, a daughter, Mrs. Judith P. Huff, Toms River, and five grandchildren.

She was 88 and lived on Franklin Avenue. She was born in Newark and lived there and in East Orange before moving here 15 years ago.
