Garber played in the conference's all-star game for the second straight year. Last year he had two goals and two assists in a losing effort for the Club Division. West Essex High School won the NJSIAA ice hockey championship with a 6-3 victory over Livingston. Brick Township won the first two NJSIAA hockey titles but were upset in the semifinals by Livingston this year. tarter in his sophomore year, emerges as Drexel's all time assist (228) and steal (105) leader.

He also set a single season steal mark (38 in 1975-76) and became the first Drexel player ever to shoot over 50 percent from the field in two separate seasons. All played hockey on Brick's championship teams. St. Catharine's of Spring Lake defeated Sea Girt, 41-19, to win the Shore Girls Elementary League basketball championship. Cathy Clark led the winners with 15 points. St.

Catharine's won their fourth league title in the past six years. The two finalists topped their respective divisions and both were undefeated in league play. St. Catharine's also regained possession of the Delores D'Au-ria Memorial Trophy, named in honor of the league's founder, which goes to the winning school each year. Monmouth Beach defeated St.

Rose of Belmar in the consolation game for third place. Entries are being accepted for the annual Asbury Park Custom Car and Van Show to be held at Convention Hall, April 7-9. There is no charge for entering the show at which 90 trophies will be awarded. St. John Vianney winning this year in Parochial is the only other Shore parochial school to win a state title. Lakewood and Long Branch High Schools each have won two state Group titles, while Neptune has won one Group II championship, as has Keyport and Atlantic Highlands, now known as Henry Hudson. Neptune has been runner-up four times in Group IV, once in Group in and once in Group II. Asbury Park was runner-up three times in Group IV.

CBA was runner-up twice in Parochial A and St. Rose was runner-up once in Parochial and twice in Parochial C. Lake-wood was runner-up once in Group III and once in Group II. Other area runner-ups were Ocean Township in HI, Keyport in Atlantic Highlands in n. Red Bank Regional in II, Shore Regional in II and St.

Joseph's of Toms River in Parochial C. Lodi High School and Paramus Catholic Girls High School have been named as the recipients of this year's NJSIAA Good Sportsmanship Awards which are presented each year to those schools that exhibit outstanding qualities of good sportsmanship during the state basketball championship, especially during the state semifinal and championship rounds. The first Invitational Mites Ice Hockey Tonrnament will be held at the Brick Forum weekend. James has had a lot to do with Drexel's emergence to national prominance as the Dragons graduated from a National Guard Armory playing surface to their own athletic center. Since then they have won 53 games against a vastly upgraded schedule.
