SUNDAY MORNING, JANUARY 17, 1926 THE PITTSBURGH PRESS THEATRICAL" AND PHOTOPLAY SECTION SEVEN M'KEESPORT HAS $3,000,000 BUILDING BOOM TUBE CITY McKeesport's Chief Places of Interest And Mayor McKee, who settled where the Mon-ongaheta and Toughlogheny rivers meet In 1750. At that time both Virginia and Pennsylvania claimed the land. Indians driven from eastern camps by arriving colonists made war oi McKee and the little fort he built saw many tights. He ran ferry at. the point of the two rivers for -many years and saw George Washington and other, great leaders camped there.

McKee died in 1779 and his property went tq his three sons, Robert, David and John. John McKee, died In 1807 and after his death it was found tha city's lot plan had noC'been recorded In the courthouse and It was not un til that the city was recorded. It became a municipality in 1812 and whm Incorporated, with Capt James It. Hendrickson as burgess. The borough, in 1891, was Incorporated as a third class city.

Thomas Tilrook was the first mayor. HAS FIXE HOSPITAL. Tha McKeesport hospital raised $280,000 In 1920 for an addition and a nurses' home and maintains a nurses' training school. The main building was completed and dedicated in 1HH, on three acres of land on East st. given by James Evans.
