Meister, which was a proposal to the Board to purchase bis church on the Island for school purposes, stated that the congregation of said church denied the right of Mr. to sell It therefore, the committee asked to be discharged from any further consideration of the subject; which was agreed to. Mr. Atl.ee also reported that address to the public on behalf of the Public Schools of Washington Lad been printed, and that ten thousand copies of the same were now in the hands of the committee The committee desired to know what disposition should be made of them. The Board then went into an arrangement for a proper distribution of the same.

Mr. Price exhibited an Improvad blackboard for teaching Geography, the Invention of Mr. Bowler, now of this city. Mr Miller moved that the gentlemen in different parts of the country who have supplied the board with statistics, receive and be notified of the thanks of the board for their attention and kindness; passed f)r Ironside, from the committee on a proper composition for the use of the district schools, reporUd in favor of the work by C. adopted.

Mr. Atl.ee reported the reply received from the Star and Union as to their charges lor publishing notices of the meetings of the boad Dr. Ironside similarly reported of his call on the propuetors of the National Intelligencer and States Dr. Walsh, from the committee on examinations, reported that out of nineteen applicants for teacbersbip the committee Lad passed seven.
