"WO IE" WOJCIECHOWICZ, 76, of LACEY TOWNSHIP, a former professional football player and Hall of Fame member, a founder of the National Football League Alumni Association and retired Monmouth County real estate businessman, died yesterday at home. Lionized along with Vince Lom-bardi as one of the "Seven Blocks of Granite" on Fordham University's powerful 1930s football squad, Mr.

Wojciechowicz played center linebacker and offensive center during his career. He started professionally as a first draft choice for the Detroit Lions, playing with the Lions during the 1940s, until he joined the Philadelphia Eagles and contributed to their championship seasons in 1947 and 1948. After a 13-year career, Mr. Wojciechowicz left the gridiron in 1950, to become a founder of the NFL Alumni Association and its first president, said his son, Alex F. Wojciechowicz Jr.

of Princeton. In the era long before multimillion dollar player contracts, Mr. Wojciechowicz helped players get a better share of the industry. "He worked very hard to estab-' lish the indigent players' fund and establish pensions," his son said. "Prior to 1958, there wasn't anything like that for the players." Born in 1915 in South River Mr.

Wojciechowicz was an All-State player at South River High School, and went on a scholarship to attend Fordham University, where he was named Ail-American in the 1936-37 season. Fans and sports columnists dubbed Mr. Wojciechowicz and other Fordham linemen the "Seven Blocks of Granite." They included Vince Lombardi who went on to become the Green Bay Packers' coach and a sports idol Nat Pierce, Edward Franco, Al Bar-batsky, Leo Paquin and John Druze. Familiarly called "Wojie" by players and sportswriters, he played in a time when gridders had minimal protective gear and sports medicine. Valuable players were the "60-minute men" who never left the field and played both offensive and defensive positions.

"The team on top was the team of endurance," Mr. Wojciechowicz told an Asbury Park Press reporter in a 1977 interview. "There were a lot of broken noses, but no sloppy tackles. "We were stingy with yardage, and if I gave up yards with missed ESTHER ALAZRAKI BENEZRA, 84, of TOMS RIVER, died Sunday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank.
