She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Brant Beach. She was born in New York and STEVE W. KLIDERMAN, 70, of BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, died Friday at home.

He had been an engineer with the Waterman Shipping Lines, New York, for 28 years until retiring in 1985. He had been a World War II Merchant Marine veteran. He was born in Chicago and lived in Jersey to Brick 12 years ago. His wife, Helen Stringham Lentz, died in 1990. Surviving are three sons, George, Toms River; Leonard, Point Pleasant, and Gary, Montrose, N.Y.; a brother, Edward, Cedar Grove; two sisters, Jane Menzel, Bloomfield, and Florence Mannion, ISABELL A.

PEZZA, 69, of Brooksville, formerly of HIGHLANDS, died Friday at Oakhill Hospital, Spring Hill, Fla. She was born in Newark and was a lifelong Highlands resident until moving to Florida three years ago. Surviving are her husband, Ricky; a daughter, Marlene Borza, Highlands; a sister, Lee Courter, Brooksville, and three grandsons. Laurel Funeral Home, West Keansburg, Hazlet Township, is in charge of arrangements. JEAN GARR SHUMINSKY of OCEAN TOWNSHIP, who died Friday, is survived by two nieces and two nephews.

He was born in Cambria County, and lived in Monmouth Beach before moving to Rumson in 1981. Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Shanley Yingling; two sons, Charles and Lawrence, both of Rumson; his mother, Emma Yingling, Pennsylvania, and brothers and sisters. John E.

HEYEL, 84, of Kerrville, Texas, whose daughter lives in LITTLE Friday at Sid Peterson Hospital, Kerrville. He was the owner-operator of the Greenwich Hardware Store, Greenwich, for 24 years until retiring in 1969. He was born in Bryan, and lived in Florida before moving to Texas six years ago. Surviving are his wife, Gladys Sniffen Heyel; two daughters, Phyllis Tetley, Little Silver Carolyn Baci-galupi, Kerrville; a sister, Helen Meredith, San Diego; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. CHARLES M. KIRALY, 70, of MANASQUAN, died yesterday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He had been a bridge tender at the Shark River Bridge in Belmar. Mr. Kiraly was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1838, Manasquan, and a former scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 29, East Orange.

He was a Navy World War II veteran. He was born in Hungary and lived in East Orange before moving to Manasquan 21 years ago. His wife, the former Barbara Wilson, died in 1987. Surviving are three sons, Andrew, Toms River, and Michael and Peter, both Manasquan; two daughters, Barbara E. Kiraly, Bethlehem, and Kathleen Chu, Brick Township, and a brother, Julius Kiraly, Clifton.

Robert C. Neary Funeral Home, Manasquan, is in charge of arrangements. GEORGE E. KJERSGAARD, 36, of NEPTUNE, died Friday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He had been a self-employed auto mechanic for many years.

He was born in Perth Amboy and lived in Point Pleasant before moving to Neptune a year ago. Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Duenas Kjersgaard; his parents, Edward and Margaret Kjersgaard, Burlington, N.C.; his brother, Dennis Kjersgaard, Millstone Township, and his sister, Wendy DuBois, Jamesburg. Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge Township, is in charge of arrangements. JENNIE O'BRIEN, 79, of BEL- MAR, died yesterday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. She had worked as a seamstress for Roxanne Swimwear Neptune, for 15 years until retiring in 1975.

She had been a communicant of St. Rose Roman Catholic Church, Belmar. She was born in and lived in Harrison until moving to Belmar in 1946. Her husband, Edward, died in 1961. Surviving are a son, Edward Farmingdale; a daughter, Dolores Parker, Belmar; a sister, Eleanor Chundak, Harrison; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Reilly Funeral Home, Belmar, is in charge of City before moving to Berkeley in 1985. Surviving are his wife, Maria Jahn Kliderman; a son, Vincent Filippo, Largo, a sister, Grace Dipping, Niles, one granddaughter, and one great-grandson. Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home, Toms River, is in charge of arrangements. JOHN J. KOHUT, 84, of Whiting, MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, died Friday at Community Medical Center, Toms River.

He was the founder and president of Kohut Surgical Needle New Brunswick, until retiring in 1984. He was gold card member of the Association of Professional Musicians and the American Federation of Musicians Local 204. Mr. Kohut was member of the Audubon Club House, Pine Ridge. He was a member of the High Street Baptist Church, New Brunswick.

He was born in Hungary and came to America as a teen-ager living in New Brunswick until moving to Whiting in 1981. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Dladar Kohut; a son, John F. Kohut, East Brunswick Township; two brothers, Louis Kohut, Milltown, and Zoltan Kohut, South River; three sisters, Irene Ramsey, St. Petersburg, Blanche Hewitt, Asbury Park, and Janet Sawhill, Salem S.C.; two grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. Gowen Funeral Home, New Brunswick, is in charge of arrangements.

INEZ KOUTZEN, 85, of TOMS RIVER, died yesterday at Bey Lea Village. She was a pianist and piano teacher for 40 years until retiring in 1989. She was born in London and came to America in 1920 living in Philadelphia and Westchester County, N.Y., until moving to Toms River in 1990 Her husband, Boris, died in 1966. Surviving are a son, George Koutzen, Glendale, a daughter, Nadia Koutzen, Toms River, and six grandchildren. Beecher Funeral Home, Pleasantville, N.Y., is in charge of ar rangements.

SIGRIDJ. LEANDER, 98, of Crest-wood Village, Whiting, MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, died Friday at the Logan Manor Nursing Home, Whiting. She was born in Sweden and came to America in 1918 living in New York until moving to Bridgeport, where she lived most of her life. She lived in Whiting since 1978. Her husband, John died in 1979.

Surviving are her daughter, Ingrid M. McKeeff, Whiting, and two nephews. Anderson Campbell Funeral Home, Whiting, is in charge of arrangements. GEORGE W. LENTZ, 84, of BRICK TOWNSHIP, died yesterday at Point Pleasant Hospital.

He had worked for Du Pont, Harrison, for 25 years until retiring in 1959. He then was a self-employed painter in the East Orange area. He was born in Ma-plewood and lived in East Orange and Pompano Beach, before moving North Plainfield, and five grandchildren. Mr. Lentz donated his body to the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark.

ALDWIN J. MASCIA, TOWNSHIP, died yesterday at home. He had been employed as a quality control supervisor with Sing-er-Kearfott Little Falls, for 20 years until retiring in 1978. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Bamegat.

He was born in Newark and lived in Rochelle Park before moving to Bamegat in 1989. Surviving are his wife of 57 Kathryn Maher Mascia; a Lawrence Mascia, Brookfield, four daughters, Joyce Whelan, Northville, Maureen Zisa, Hackensack; Kathleen O'Brien, Park City, Utah, and Jeanne Eakland, Salt Lake City; four sisters, Minnie Altamore, Mountainside; Helen Toombs, Clifton; Doris Finnigan, Collingswood, and Loretta Spring, Fort Myers, 11 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Homes, Bamegat, is in charge of arrangements. EDWARD F. MECHLING 78, of LAKEWOOD, died yesterday in Kimbal Medical Center, Lakewood.

He had been employed as a general foreman for production at RCA Harrison, for 34 years until retiring in 1976. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge 289, Livingston. He had also been a member of the Salaam Shriners Temple, Livingston. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Northern New Jersey, and the North Shore Shrine Club, Toms River. He was born in Tidioute, and lived in Livingston before moving to Lake-wood 14 years ago.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth in 1974. Surviving are two sons, Edward F. Jr, Clifton, and Robert J. Williams, Livingston; a brother, Richard Mechling, Dunwoody, three sisters, Josephine Butler, Janet Cippel, Ford City, and Georgia Martin, Vandergrift, four grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. CHESTER B. SELLNER, 85, of Cedar Glen Lakes, Whiting, MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, died yesterday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. He was an auditor with Title Guarantee Co, New York, for 29 years and was a comptroller with the American Security and Trust Washington, D.C., for 23 years until retiring in 1976. He was born in Brooklyn and lived in Queens and Arlington, before moving to Cedar Glen Lakes in 1976. Surviving are his wife, Helen Ro-sener Sellner; a daughter, Helene Byrne, Northport, N.Y., and three grandchildren.

He had worked for several steamship lines in New York as a paymaster and general cashier for 40 years. He then worked for the Mcllwriath Detective Agency, New York, for eight years until retiring in 1968. He was born in Jersey City and lived in Lyndhurst until moving to Point Pleasant five years ago.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Myrtle; his son, John H. Bigge, Ran-cho Mirage, a daughter, Myrtle Giangregorio, Lanoka Harbor, Lacey Township; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Pable-Evertz Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, is in charge of arrangements. ARTHUR L. BROWN, 69, of Whiting, MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, died Tuesday at Deborah Hospital, Browns Mills, Pemberton Township.

He was an Army veteran of 30 years, serving during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He later worked for the Toms River Chemical Co. as a machine operator until retiring in 1980. He was member of the St. Thomas Lodge 10, A.F.A.M.

Toms River; the Pride of Lakewood Lodge 1225 I.B.P.O.E. of the World, Lakewood, where he served as Esteemed Lecturer Knight. He was a member of the Past Exalted Rulers Council 20 Middle District, I.B-.P.O.E.W. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9521, Lake-wood. He was born in New York and lived in Whiting since 1960.

RITA V. DAVIS, 89, of HAZLET TOWNSHIP, died Friday at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Hazlet. She had worked for NJ. Bell, Newark, as a telephone operator for 20 years until retiring in 1970. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

GERMAN, 47, of Massachusetts, formerly of HAZLET TOWNSHIP, died July 18 at Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, Mass. He was a racehorse hot walker. He served in the Navy from 1964-1968. Mr. German was born in Perth Amboy and lived in Hazlet before moving to Massachusetts.
