HENKEN THOMAS K. 76, of Mt. Washington, formerly of Louisville Portland area, returned to his Heavenly ather on December 29, 2015. Mr. Henken was a route salesman for Interstate Brands, and a member of Teamster Local 89.

He was born on September 2, 1931 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Alice Fallon and Joseph I. A graduate of St. Xavier High School, he was the rst student to enroll at Bellarmine College, and was a proud member of 1954. In late years, he organized monthly gatherings for the remaining members of that class. After almost 40 years of service, he retired from the Louisville ces of CSX Railroad as Assistant Superintendent of Boxca Distribution.

During his years of retirement, he volunteered as a reader at the Recording House for the Blind, and held part-time jobs at Pharmacy, the Blossom Shop, and the Louisville Auto Auction. He was a longtime member of St. Francis Assisi Roman Catholic Church where he served as a Lector and Minister of the Eucharist, also serving in these same capacities at the Nazareth Home on Newburg Road. He proudly served as the cial scorekeepe of the Bellarmine College Basketball Team for over 30 years. A lifelong fan, he traveled to eld, Massachusetts with the basketball team in 2011 and witnessed their victory in the NCAA Division II Championship.

He and his daughter were still proudly cheering on the Knights a few weeks before his passing. In honor of his service to the school, he was inducted into the Bellarmine University Sports Hall of Fame, as well as being presented with the Bellarmine University Scarlet and Silve Award in 2010 and with the Monsignor Horrigan Medal. He was a proud member of Heritage Society and Society. He is survived by his daughter, Dianne Marie; his former wife, Mary Jane; numerous cousins; and too many friends to count. The family would like to thank the oncology team led by Dr.

Neal Dunlap at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, and the doctors, nurses, and staff of Unit 4 North and the Palliative Center at Baptist Health Care. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday, January 1, 2016 at Ratterman Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. at St.

RHODES JOANNE MAURER, 67, of Louisville passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015 at St. Mary Elizabeth Hospital. JoAnne was born in Louisville to the late David and Barbara Maurer. She served her family faithfully as a homemaker and was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her loving husband 43 years, Jim Rhodes; sons, Jamie (Christy) Rhodes and Toby (Robin) Carlyle; step-son, Brian (Tammy) Rhodes; grandchildren, Julianna, Brennen, Nicholas, Sarah, Erin, and Sandra.
