Natioxal Jckctioh Railroad The directors of the National Junction railroad expect to complete the contracts for the construction of the road in about ten days, and the work will commence immediately thereafter. The heavy tunneling work will be entered on at street, Koek Creek, the Aqueduct, and other simultaneously, and pushed on to completion as rapidly as practicable. It will take at least twelve months to complete the road, the cost of which will be about IO.A.0. The companyare prepared with the funds to carry on the work, the stockholders having paid In their full deposit of twenty per cent, on the stock of and bonds for authorized by the charter, have been negotiated. And it further enacted. That the which maybe prepared for issue aud sale as afore said, until required for said purnoses, shall ba de posited with the Comptroller of said District, aud he not permit any one or more of them to fo out of his possession, except for the purposes of this act; and he shall give such security for their safe keeping as may be required by the Uovernor; and ne shall keep a register or account of all bonds which may be prepared aud Issued under this act, and make a full report, from time ta time, to the -rislative Assembly, of the amount of sales, as well as of the amount or interest that may have accrued or to be od said bonds. And be tl further enacted, That upon tha sale of any or all of said bonds the proceeds thereor shall be deposited in the treasury of the District, and shall be drawn out upon warrants of the Board of Public Works, sud shall be disbursed by said Board for the payment of the cost of spsxial im provements and repairs in said District, including the necessary incidental expenses thereof, and for no other but no payments shall be made under any contract for improvements, or for any work done in relation thereto, unless the work done shall be ten per centum in excess of such payments, except in the case of the final execution of any contract or completion of any work and settlement therefor. That tha improvements which may be made by virtue of this act shall be commenced and carried on according to the provisions of the aforesaid act of Congress of the twenty first day or February, eighteen hundred and seventy-one, and exclusively tor the proiaotion of the public interests. Ami be further eeuul'd, That If any officer or employe of the said District shall use, or consent to the use, of any of the money authorised to be raised by this act, contrary to its provisions, he shall, on conviction thereof in the Criminal Court of the District of Columbia, be punished by imprisonment in the jail of this District for a term of not leas than three nor more than twelve months, aud by a fine of not less than five hundred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars. Stc. And be it further tnarted, That this act shall be submitted to the people or electors of said District at the first general election which may be held after together with the uuestions of issuing of the four millions of aforesaid, In the mode hereinafter provided, namely: First.
