ASBURY ASBURY PARK PRESS I WEDNESDAY, AUG. 23, 2006 OBITUARIES ES Additional A14 DR. JAMES F. DOUGHERTY of SEA GIRT, and Jupiter, died Saturday, Aug. 19, at home, surrounded by his loving wife of 53 years and his daughters.

Dr. Dougherty was born and raised in Chester, and graduated from St. Joseph's Prep, Philadelphia. He attended the University of Notre Dame, where he earned his bachelor's degree in pre-medical science. While at Notre Dame, he was a member of the Navy B-12 program and the Academy ofScience Honors Program.

In 1948, Dr. Dougherty received 1 his doctorate of medicine from the University of Rochester, Rochester, N.Y. He was called to service in the Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1952. He served as radiologist aboard the hospital ship USS Consolation in both Korea and Japan. He re turned to complete his residency in radiology at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia.

He started his radiology career at Overlook Hospital, Summit, as an associate radiologist. After five years, he and his family moved to Sea Girt and joined the staff of Point Pleasant Hospital. He served as the first chief of the department of radiology at Point Pleasant and Brick Hospitals for the next 30 years. Dr. Dougherty was a diplo mat of the American Board of Radiology, a member of the American College of Radiology, the American Medical Association and the New Jersey Radiological Society.

In 1988, he was presented with the Golden Merit Award for 50 years of outstanding service as a physician. After retirement from Ocean County Medical Center, he continued to practice radiology for 10 years throughout the country as a locum tenens. In addition, he was a member of the board of directors for the Allaire State Bank. He later was named a regional director of the Bank of New York. Dr.

Dougherty enjoyed traveling with his wife Frances throughout the United States, Europe, Russia, China, Israel, as well as Australia. He was a member of the Tequesta Country Club and a former member of the Manasquan River Golf Club. As an avid reader, he kept abreast of current events, sports and financial news. He was a communicant of St. Mark's Catholic Church, Sea Girt, and a member of the Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife, Frances McCarthy Dougherty. He leaves four daughters, Eileen Dougherty of Palm Beach Gardens, Kathleen Boozan of Pennington and her husband, James A. Boozan, M.D., Patricia Dougherty Allen of Palm Desert, and Elizabeth Hebb of Coral Gables, and her husband, Stuart M. Hebb. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Sean and Jim Allen, Jay and Hope Boozan, and Laura and Claire Hebb; two brothers, the Rev.

Edward J. Dougherty of Lawrenceville, and Joseph Dougherty of Drexel Hill, and his sister, Mary Elizabeth Warren of Atlanta, Ga. Visiting hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the O'Brien Funeral Home, Highway 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m.

Saturday from the funeral home followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Mark's Church, Sea Girt. Committal will follow at St. Catharine's Cemetery, Sea Girt.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mark's Social Concerns Committee, 215 Crescent Parkway, Sea Girt, N.J 0 08750 or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation, PO Box 96268, Washington, DC 20077. PETER J. HARMAZINSKI, 41, formerly of HOWELL, died Friday, Aug. 11, at his home.

Born Dec. 6, 1964, he was a resident of Bartow, Fla. and Mulberry, for 15 years, moving from Howell. An auto mechanic, he was of the Catholic faith. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph P.

Harmazinski. Surviving are his companion, Joy Donley of Bartow; his son, Peter Joseph Harmazinski of San Antonio; his daughter, Alyssa Harmazinski of Mulberry; his mother, Mary Menth of North Fort Myers, his brother, Joseph Harmazinski of Ocean Grove; and his sister, Kathy DiPietro of New Egypt. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Gabriel's Church, 549 Newman Springs Road, Marlboro.

ROBERT C. KOEHLER, 70, of HAZLET, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, at home. He was vice president of for the Hartz Mountain Secaucus, for over 30 years before retiring. Robert was a devoted family man and always patriotic.

As a youth, he performed acts of heroism, including rescuing two children. He received community recognition with many awards and medals for his bravery, including an award from the Boy Scouts of America. He had great respect and love for the water. He enjoyed boating and fishing with his family and friends. He and his beloved wife, Kay, owned a summer home in Tuckerton, which was always open to a host of family and friends.

Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Puerto Rico and Long Island before moving to Hazlet 40 years ago. He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine A. Koehler, in July 2006; and his parents, Charles and Amy Gulekson Koehler. 21, at The Elms, Cranbury. Born in Brooklyn, she lived in Lincroft before moving to Cranbury over a year ago. She was a switchboard operator at Middlesex County College, Edison, for 20 years, retiring in 1985. She was a former member of Shaarey Teflia Temple, Perth Amboy. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Kate Rubin Polkowitz.

She was the widow of J. George Brodsky, who died in 1997. She is survived by her sons, Ira and Joel, both of East Windsor; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. today at Beth Israel Cemetery, Route 1 and Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge.

Crabiel Memorial Funeral Home, Hightstown, is in charge of arrangements. JANETTE S. BRODSKY, 85, of Cranbury, GRACE PLUM WARDELL BYRNES. 89, of HAZLET, died Monday, Aug. 21, at Bayside Manor, Keansburg.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of VFW Post No. 2179 Ladies Auxiliary, Middletown. Born in Newark, she lived in Matawan and the West Keansburg section of Hazlet before moving to Hazlet. She was predeceased by her first husband, Harry Wardell her second husband, Cornelius Byrnes, in Jan.

2005; a son, Donald Wardell; two brothers, John and Peter Plum, who passed when they were very young; and three sisters, Loretta Tanchalk, Catherine Padula and Veronica Stout. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Veronica and Joseph Auer of Hazlet; two sons, Harry Wardell Jr. of Highlands, and William Wardell of Morganville, Marlboro; a sister and brother-in-law, Henrietta and John Finnigan of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

DOLBEAR, 83, of Ponte Vedra Beach, formerly of AVON, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, at Community Hospice, Jacksonville, Fla. Born in Jersey City to Alfred and Hazel Carlsen, Doris and her husband of 60 years, John "Harry" Dolbear were former residents of Stuart, Avon-by-the-Sea, Cranford, and summer residents of Ocean Grove.

Doris was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Stuart, Fla. Surviving are her husband, John H. Dolbear; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon and Dale Miller, and Joan Dolbear of Ponte Vedra Beach, four grandchildren, Amy, Carrie, Bethany and Christopher; and a great granddaughter, Madeline Rose. Born in Point Pleasant Beach, Mr. Lane moved to Manasquan in 1951. He was an Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was employed at Bendix Corporation, Eatontown, as a design engineer, retiring in 1984. He was predeceased by his son, Jonathan "Jack" Lane, who died in 1976.

He is survived by his spouse of 57 years, Marie Zendzian Lane; two daughters, Judith C. Lane of Syracuse, Utah, and Nancy A. Lane of Belmar; a brother, Robert Lane of Brick; and three grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jessica and Jonathan. Visiting hours will be from 9 a.m. Thursday until the funeral service at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Leon was born in Manhattan and was a resident of Richmondtown, Staten Island, before moving to Howell in 1978. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a volunteer for the Howell Meals on Wheels program and was a lunch aide at Griebling School, Howell. She was a telephone operator for New York Bell, Staten Island, for over 30 years, retiring in 1979.

LEON. 89, of Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Vincent Tantillo of Howell; three grandchildren and two grandsons Cheryl and Bill England, Michele Tantillo, and Jesse and Dawn Tantillo; five great grandchildren, Ty and Troy England, Mary Rose and Giana Rose DiGangi and Jesse Tantillo and a niece, Marguerite Meldrum of Richmondtown. LUCINDA ANNE IKEDA MOLLOY, 63, formerly of SPRING LAKE, quietly passed away Thursday, May 11, in Honolulu, Hawaii, after her six-year battle with breast cancer. Born Feb. 27, 1943, at Gila Rivers, in a dusty internment camp for Japanese Americans during World War II, Lucy, as she would always be called, was the eldest of five siblings born to the late Albert S. and Toshi "Jean" Ikeda and raised in Honolulu, where she graduated from the University of Hawaii. She moved to the New Jersey Shore in 1966 and received her master's de gree i in guidance from Monmouth University.

A Spring Lake resident for 25 years, she was an educator for 34 years, mainly at Land O' Pines School, Howell, retiring in 2000. Mrs. Molloy was president of the Jersey Shore Branch of the American Association of University Women, charter member of the James A. Michener Society and Bookworms Book Club, Spring Lake, member of the Spring Lake Historical Society, Spring Lake Homeowners Association, Howell Township Education Association, St. Catharine's Parish, MT "Money Talks" Investment Club, Spring Lake Garden Club, and Spring Lake Women's Club.

She volunteered for the Monmouth County Foodbank, Interfaith Meals to the Homebound and Visiting Nurses of Central New Jersey. In May 2002, she returned to her childhood home, Honolulu, to be closer to her aging parents and her children. Here, she was able to view her beloved Diamond Head and Waikiki every day, and in spite of her cancer, served as president for both the Newcomers Club of Honolulu and Make Today Count cancer support group, served as board member for the Diamond Head branch of AAUW, and founded a book club, gourmet group and women's investment group. She also belonged to the Outdoor Circle, University of Hawaii Women's Campus Club, the Red Hat Mamas of Honolulu, was a communicant at Saints Peter Paul Church and volunteered at Maluhia Long Term Care Facility and for the Lo kahi program. Lucy Molloy was a special person who loved everyone she ever met and was everyone's best friend.

She will live on forever in our hearts because of her legacy of love, hope and inspiration. Lucy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Mark, in 2003. She is survived by her children, Thomas and Elizabeth "Betsy" Brower, both of Honolulu; and stepchildren, Patricia Molloy and Annemarie and her husband. Wade Cook, both of Rochester, N.Y. She was a devoted grandmother to Liam and Brendan Cook.

She is also survived by siblings, Albert and his wife, Geneva, of Atlanta, Jennifer and her husband, John Hausler, of Pearl City, HI, Diane and her husband, Nelson Fujio, of Honolulu, and Roger and his wife, Shereen, of Hillside, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. KATHLEEN "KAY" NEPRYLYCK, 95, of KEANS- BURG, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Mrs. Neprylyck was born in Scotland and lived in Flushing, N.Y., before moving to Bayside Manor Assisted Living, Keansburg, a year ago. She was an office manager for a medical group in New York City for many years.

Kay was the true Matriarch of her family. She was a woman who had an amazing character and free spirit. Her sense of humor and determination were admired by all who knew her. She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City. She will be truly missed.

Kay was predeceased by her husband, William Neprylyck, who passed away in 1974; four beloved sisters, Ethel, May, Nora and Monica; and two brothers, James and Joseph. She is survived by many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Red Bank.

A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale. Letters of condolence may be e-mailed through the funeral home's Web site at www.sidun.com..
