John, who won the Heis-man Trophy as college football's oustanding player in 1973, dedicated the award to his younger brother in a moving acceptance speech. "If I could dedicate this trophy to him tonight and give him a couple of days of happiness, it would mean everything to him," said John, who is now with the Los Angeles Rams. "I think this trophy is more his than mine because he's been an inspiration to me," John said sobbing. Joey, son of John Sr. and Mary Cappelletti, had leukemia since he was five years old.

He received treatment at Philadelphia's Children's Hospital every other day. Funeral services are scheduled Monday. MRS. DALE McMlLLIN MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP Mrs. Georgiana Roswell McMullin, 64, of 9A Arizona Cedar Glen Lakes, died Wednesday.

Mrs. McMullin moved here from Queens, N.Y. a year ago. She retired in 1958 as a secretary for E. R.

Squibb Company, New York City, after 30 years. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Springfield Gardens, N.Y. Surviving are her husband, Dale, and a brother, Charles G. Roswell, Creskill, Pa.

Mrs. Ellington, who was a dancer at the Cotton Club in 1937 and 1938 before her marriage to Ellington in 1939, died at New York Hospital on Wednesday of cancer. Her first name, which she did not use, was Beatrice. Funeral services will be tomorrow from the Walter B. Cooke Funeral Home in Manhattan.

She will be buried next to her husband in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx. MRS. LOUIS SACKS LAKEWOOD Mrs. Minnie Sacks, 77, of 1620 Monmouth died Wednesday. Mrs: Sacks moved here from Hightstown nine years ago.

She was a member of the Congregation Ahvat Shalom and a member of its Sisterhood. She was a member of the Golden Ring Club, here, and of the Pioneer Women of Lakewood. Caroline Price Elverston, who was a former proprietor of the Hotel St. Nicholas, Asbury Park, died Wednesday. Mrs. Elverston, of 216 Lorraine was 99. She was the owner and manager of the hotel for 20 years until retiring in 1948.

Mrs. Elverston lived in New York and Asbury Park before moving here in 1973. She was a member of the Federated Business and Professional Women's Clubs of New York and Asbury Park. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Harold De Witt Smith, at home.

The Meehan Funeral Home, Spring Lake Heights, is in charge of arrangements. DR. JOHN J. CONNOLLY SPRING LAKE Dr. John J.

Connolly, 75, of 208 Madison a North Jersey surgeon, died yesterday. Although Dr. Connolly retired eight years ago he remained a consulting surgeon at various North Jersey hospitals. He had been medical director and director of surgery at St. Mary's Hospital, Orange, for 22 years.

He was a former director of surgery at St. Michael's Hospital, Newark. He was a consulting surgeon for both hospitals as well as the Presbyterian Hospital, Newark. Dr. Connolly was an attending surgeon for the Crippled Children's Hospital, Newark.

He was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a diplomate of the International College of Surgeons. He was also a former president of the Newark Board of Education and a former trustee of Seton Hall University. Dr. Connolly was a Papal Knight of Malta, a Knight of the Holy Sepulcher and a Knight of St. Gregory the Great.

He was a communicant of St. Catharine's Roman Catholic Church, here. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a son, John here; four daughters, Mrs. Thomas P. Burrus, Mrs.

Jane Beat-tie, and Mrs. Richard J. Kinney, here, and Mrs. John P. Michaels, Jericho Center, and, 16 grandchildren.

Height, 63, of 500 Wayside died Wednesday. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses here, and a Neptune resident for 25 years. Surviving are her husband, Charles; three daughters, Mrs. Patricia Reilly, Neptune; Mrs. Shirley Truax, Lakewood, and Mrs.

Barbara Ventura, Neptune, and four grandchildren. Francioni, Taylor and Lopez Funeral Home, Neptune, is in charge of arrangements. MRS. MADELINE GERBER KEANSBURG Mrs. Madeline Fulton Gerber, 75, of 143 Center died Wednesday.

Mrs. Gerber, who moved here six months ago from New Brunswick, was employed in the maintenance department of the New Brunswick Board of Education before she retired in 1963. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church and the Home League of the Salvation Army, New Brunswick, and the Bayshore Chapter 1569 of the Women of the Moose, here. She was the widow of Jacob Gerber, who died in 1975.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Doris Wyckoff, here; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Barnowitz, New York; Mrs. Frances De Metro, Ocean Township, and Mrs. Carolyn Seidler, Little Egg Harbor Township.

The Bronson and Son Funeral Home, Militown, is in charge of arrangements. MRS. JOKOV JEREMIN JACKSON TOWNSHIP -Mrs. Olga Kriwko Jeremin, 79, of Ross Lane, died Wednesday. Mrs.

Jeremin summered here several years and had been a permanent resident for three years. She was a retired seamstress. Surviving are her husband, Jokov; a son, John, Bogota, and two grandchildren. The Glenn A. De Bow Funeral home is in charge of CHEVY CHASE, Md.

-Elliot Katz, 56, of 3423 Glenmore Drive, an attorney for the Interstate Commerce Commission, Washington, and a former member of the Long Branch, N.J., City Council, and former Monmouth County, N.J. assistant prosecutor, died yesterday. Mr. Katz, a graduate of Long Branch High School, Rutgers University, N.J., and Columbia Law School, N.Y. was a past president of the Monmouth County Young Democrats, and unsuccessful candidate for the New Jersey Democratic Assembly in 1961.

At that time he won a major phase of his fight to pass out campaign literature on passenger trains when the state Board of Public Utility Commissioners approved it. At Rutgers he received the John Bates Clark Award "in economcis and also was honored with an award "for long and distinguished service" as an evening lecturer. He taught classes in economics for the Rutgers Evening Division from 1948 through 1958. In Long Branch he was a past president of the Lions Club, a member of the Education and Industrial Development Committees of the Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Board of Adjustment. Mr.

Katz was an Army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. In 1966 he was appointed to the national and state organizations of the Jewish Welfare Board. ALFRED W. PARRY MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP Alfred W. Parry, 80, of 39A Crestwood Crestwood Village, died yesterday.

Mr. Parry retired in 1971 as a life insurance representative for New York Life Insurance Company, New York City, after 50 years. He moved here from Forest Hills, N.Y., five years ago, He was chairman of the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, and a director of the Africa Inland Mission, Pearl River, N.Y. He was chairman of the Christian Businessmen Committee of New York, and was a member of the New York International Bible Society. He was a member of the Gideon Bible Society and was a lay preacher in churches and missions of the New York area.

He attended the Whiting Church and America's Keswick of Whiting. He was a member of the Millionaire Club of the New York Life Insurance Compa-' ny. Surviving are his wife, the former Helen Schwuchow; a daughter, Mrs. Doris Tucker, New Hyde Park, N.Y.; a brother, Herbert, Lynbrook, N.Y.; a sister, Miss Frances Parry, Staten Island, one grandchild and one greatgrandchild. CHRISTIE HORAN OLD BRIDGE TOWNSHIP Christie Horan, 65, of Shoreland Circle, died yesterday. Mr. Horan lived in Bloomfield before moving here five years ago. He was a press operator with Wiss and Sons Cutlery, Newark. He is survived by his wife, Mrs.

FREESE HAZLET TOWNSHIP -Herman L. Freese, 87, of Highway 36, died yesterday. He lived here 27 years. Until his retirement, he was an accountant with Con Edison, New York City. He is survived by his wife, the former Mildred Senson.

Blanche R. Passalacqua, 82, of 21 Denise Drive, died yesterday. Mrs. Passalacqua lived in this area 40 years and was a communicant of St. Antho ny's Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank.

Her husband, Salvatore, died in 1973. Surviving are three sons, Edmund Maffia, Bronxville, N.Y.; Frank Maffia, Mount Vernon, N.Y., and Albert Maffia, Scarsdale, N.Y.; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Terri, Bronxville, and Mrs. Florence DeFazio, with whom she lived; a sister, Mrs. Ruse Caracaus, Miami, 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Hendrika De Beus Wayboyr, 78, of 2200 Rogers died yesterday. Mrs. Wayboyr was born in Holland and moved here 19 years ago from Nutley. She was a member of the Lady Guard of Greater Point Pleasant and the Brick Township Senior Citizens Club. Her husband, John, died in 1969.

Surviving are two sons, Fred, West Milford Township, and Arthur, Livingston; a brother, Henry De Beus, Bloomingdale; two sisters, Mrs. Johanna Daman and Mrs. Wilhemina Van Tinter-en, Holland, and three grandchildren. The Colonial Funeral Home, Brick Township, is in charge of arrangements. RALPH H.

TITLEY BEACHWOOD Ralph H. Titley, 86, of 17 Nautilus died Wednesday. He moved here 13 years ago from Springfield Township. He retired in 1956 after working 40 years as an electrical engineer for Public Service Gas Electric Co. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.

Elsie Titley; two sons, William Mountainside, and Richard Virginia Beach, two daughters, Mrs. Catherine E. Veninate, Great Falls, and Mrs. Ruth Repshur, Maple Shade; three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Ford, and Miss Dorethy Titley, Beacon Falls, and Miss Helen Titley, Med-ford, nine grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
