James Robinson, a farmer living near Jef-fersonville, is tbo owner of a carniverous horse, which wants nothm; better for a good, squar deal than a fat pig. Whenever the horse sees a pig that it can get at it grabs it by the ixick of ihe neck and shakes it to death, much as a docf would shake rat. The horso then devours the pig with great relish. Mr.

Robinson is very careful to keep his pigs away from this hore as far as possible. A Bombay piper relates an incident Ulna-trative of the sagacity of tha elephant.
