Dad finds son after 20 years LAWRENCE (AP) A Columbia, home re- modeler's long search for his son has come to an end. Dan Holland said he encountered numerous dead ends and detours on the search that ended Friday when he was reunited with Scott Youel, the son who was taken by Holland's ex-wife after their divorce in 1968. "He's about 6 foot 4 now," Holland said during a tearful meeting at his parents' home in Lawrence, Kan. "He was only about 24 inches long the last time I saw him." Holland said his son was taken away despite a court order by a Kansas judge and he tracked the boy from California to North Carolina and Texas before losing track of him entirely in 1974.

He said he contacted a Columbia detective who tracked Youel to Colorado, where a former roommate told him Youel had moved to Goodland, about a month earlier. Holland said he contacted authorities there and they arranged for him to talk to Youel by telephone. "I'm still trying to find out what to call him," Youel said. City manager named JUNCTION CITY (AP) The Junction City Commission Tuesday selected a Michigan man as its new city manager. Elaine Hinds, 44, who is city manager of Alma, was chosen from among 70 applicants, officials said.

Hinds will begin work at the end of March. Tom Neal, the city engineer of Junction City, has been interim city manager for the past six months. Hinds will receive a starting salary of $55,000, officials said. For the past 10 years Hinds has been city manager of Alma, a central Michigan town of about 10,000 residents. Junction City is a town of 19,000.
