The champion said in an interview Tuesday that he believed Vladimirov copied "important opening variations" that had been kept in a safe. "I can't prove anything, but it looks very strange, and I have my own opinion," Kasparov said. The challenger won game 19, the third in a run of three victories that enabled him to pull level with Kasparov at 9.5 points each.

But Kasparov rallied and drew games 20 and 21 and won game 22 to retain his title. Kasparov told the news conference why he thought he lost three games in a row. "Before the match, my idea was simple to score 12 or 12.5 points. In the practical sense, the beauty and quality did not matter so much," he said. "But when the games got beautiful, I forgot about my major aim," and lost games 17, 18 and 19.

"I decided to play simply and reliably after the 19th game. My aim was only to draw 20 and 21 and win the 22nd, which I achieved." Karpov said he had no guarantee of success against 23-year-old Soviet Andrei Sokolov when he meets him next February in Linares, Spain, in a match to decide who will challenge Kasparov for the world title again in September. pay fine in blood "The hospital is probably low on blood now, and we are not out to make money on citations," said Eugene Powell, parking office manager. World chess champion Garri Kasparov said yesterday that two aides left his camp during his title match against Anatoly Karpov in Leningrad, and he indicated one of them might have given away secrets. Kasparov told a news conference that Gennady Timoshchenko and Yevgeny Vladimirov left his close circle of advisers and were replaced by two friends from his hometown of Baku, international master Elmar Ma-gerianov and grandmaster Mikhail Gurovich. In championship matches, each player has aides and chess advisers who help him plan strategy and study adjourned positions. "Timoshchenko wanted to leave the camp at the start of this (second) half of the game," Kasparov said, speaking in Russian through an interpreter. The first 12 games of the match were played in London and the final 12 in Leningrad.

"There was a clash after game 19 and Vladimirov left," Kasparov said. "After game 19, it was clear that Vladimirov had copied all of my moves. He wanted me to believe that he did on his own," Kasparov said. There have been widespread rumors among experts watching the Leningrad clash that Vladimirov may Parking violators can The Associated Press MORGANTOWN, W.Va.
