Czok, who was successful as varsity basketball coach at Red Bank Catholic High School, made his return to active coaching after five years. Raritan could continue its cage rise if Czok decides to continue as varsity coach although the Rockets will be promoted to Class A in the Shore Conference next season. Southern Credits Scherer With Rise Rip Scherer, athletic director and varsity football coach, is accorded much of the credit for Southern Regional High School's vast improvement in athletics.

While the Rams have a good chance of repeating as the Class C. baseball champions of the Shore Conference this spring, the track squad appears headed for a building year. The Rams' only standout in track appears to be Bill McMullen, a junior sprinter and broad jumper. Scherer has done a fine job in trying to get Southern Regional back into the Shore Pop Warner Football League.
