Rossitor BIG HIT AT OPRY The Watchmen, Gospel Music's brightest star in the northeast, headquartered in Clymer, were a smash hit recently on stage at the famous Grand 'Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn.

The Opry program in which The Watchmen participated was broadcast "live" nationwide on WSM, radio 650 out of Nashville. The Watchmen, performing before an audience representing listeners from nearly every state in the Union as well as many foreign countries received thunderous ovations of applause from the Opry crowd. State manager of the Grand Ole Opry, Claude Lawrence, a man who has seen and heard nearly every top "country" and "gospel" music show in the country since joining the Opry staff, commented upon The Watchmen, saying, "These boys are welcome on my stage anytime. They have a fantastic sound and a unique way of communicating with the audience." Another Opry official commented, "I wish The Watchmen were back here every week. It would sure make my job a lot easier." According to John Abraham, manager of the group, The Watchmen will be returning to the Grand 'Ole Opry stage sometime in late summer or early fall.

"We were extended an open invitation to work the Opry program any time we are in Nashville," said Abraham, "but the earliest we can get back down there is September or Octo- Jacoby On Bridge Justice doesn't triumph again Oswald NORTH 29 65.. How should he play it? tion to play the nine if West plays low and finessing against the king if the nine loses to the jack. This play only succeeds 80 per cent of the time against a man good enough to duck with king-small, but it works 94 per cent of the time against ordinary bridge players. Of course justice doesn't always triumph. The best mathematical play is a loser today.

Almost all other plays work. (NEWSPAPER ENTERPRISE ASSN.) Old books on bridge said to go to dummy; lead the queen and let it ride. If the finesse lost to the king, go to dummy again and take a second finesse. This play would 76 per cent of the time. Any time East held at least one honor, A better play would be to lead dummy's nine.

This would succeed almost 81 per cent of the time (any time East held an honor or West held all four cards of the suit). The old books on bridge were all wrong here. The best mathematical play is to lay down the ace. This 83 per cent of the time since it only loses two tricks if East holds xor xx. It also loses two tricks today, But the really expert play, as used by experts against players not good enough to play low from king-small, is to lead low toward dummy with the CARD Sense The bidding has been: 29 West North East South 14 Pass You, South, hold: 654 PK J432 What do you do now?
