George C. Cockrell of Jerseyville were married Thursday evening, January 3 nt. Van Buren, be- fore District Judge Carl Whitmore. Mrs. Jeanne Richardson of Fort Smith, wns attendant for Miss Schoen and Frank McAlplne of Alexandria, was best man for Sgt.

Cockrell. The bride wore a costume of orchid ribbon taffeta with a velvet hat of matching shade, cessorles of black, and a corsage composed of white roses. Sgt. and Mrs. Cockrell spent a few days in Fort Smith following their marriage and then left for a motor trip south.

They will visit with rleative's of the groom in Dallas, and will visit other points of interest in the south before returning to Fort Smith where they have an apartment at 1905 South street, Miss Schoen was graduated from St. Anne's Academy, Fort Smilh, in 1951, and was employed by the Schoen Brothers cleaning establishment in Barling, until she resigned recently to complete plans for her marriage. Sgt. Cockrell is a son of Mr. and Mrs.

Cockrell of 'Jerseyville. He attended Jersey Township High School and has bten attached to the U. S. Army since 1942. He was stationed in Germany for seven years and his return to the states in February, 1951, was assigned to Camp Chnffee, Ark.

Former Cottage Hills Resident Weds Miss Joan Youngblood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Youngblood of Hawthorne, former residents of Cottage Hills, and Harley Harmon were married Sunday, December 23, in the home of the bride's parents.

The Rev. O. Sanders of the Calvary Baptist Church, Hawthorne, officiated. Lee Maslerman and Miss Claudina Woody served as attendants. The bride was dressed In blue silk and wore a white orchid corsage.

Her attendant wore a gold silk dress and a corsage of yellow rosebuds. A reception followed the ceremony with more than 50 guests atlending. Mrs. Roy Blackwell, Mrs. Ronald Hamman, and Mrs.

Benlese Nolan, presided at the refreshment table. The bride graduated In 1951 from Leuzlnger High School. The bridegroom, whose home is in Columbus, is stationed with the, navy In San Diego, and Is attached to the deslroyer, the S. S. Floyd B.

Parks. The couple have delayed a wedding trip until the bridegroom Is separated from the navy in February. Engagement of Principle Student Announced The engagement of Miss Bonnie Dhu Clark, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roderick D.

Clark of Wllmette, 111., to J. Douglas Ptnkham, was announced at an open house.New Year's Day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clark. The prospective bride Is a senior student at The Princlpla College nt Elsah, and she and her brother, Cole Clark, a freshman at the college have resumed their studies.

Mr. Pinkham, son of Mrs. Bernard O. Pinkham and the late Mr. Pinkham of Wlnnetka, graduated from The Princlpla last spring and is continuing his studies towards a master's degree in geology at Oberlin College in Ohio.

Lighted tnpers marked every other pew of the center aisle. Mrs. Keith Wilton, organist, played prelude of nuptial music nnd accompanied Mrs. Henry Kruse who sang "Al- wnys," "I Love You Truly" and "Because." She also played for the processional nnd recessional.

Selections included by Mrs. Wilton In the prelude were "At Dawning," "Oh Promise Me" nnd "Liebestraum." The bride's gown of chantllly lace over white satin wns fashioned with a fitted bodice, finished with mandarin collar nnd long button trimmed slorves, pointed over the hnnds, nnd full skirt terminating in a long train. A finger tip veil of illusion was held In place by a tiara of seed pearls, nnd Miss Wntson carried nn Alvarinn bouquet of roses, and her jewelry was a pearl necklace and earrings to match. The bride's attendants wore Madonna blue, sequin trimmed tulle frocks, fashioned over taffeta with strapless bodices. Matching stoles and headdresses completed the costumes.

They wore rhlnestone necklaces, gifts from the bride, and carried bouquets of candy striped carnations, identical to the bride's, with streamers to match their gowns. The little flower girl wore a Rosyn made similar to the bridesmaids' and carried basket of carnations. Wedding guests were received Immediately following the ceremony in the social room of the church. A three-tier wedding cake centered the bride's table and the gift tables were dec- ornled with blue and white streamers. Miss Jerry Hoeferlin of St.
