FLORENCE MAZZACCO DARROW, 81, of Willingboro and a native of LONG BRANCH, died Monday at Memorial Hospital, Mount Holly. She was a Army nurse, first serving during World War II and continuing her career as a civilian nurse at Fort Dix Army Hospital. She graduated from Monmouth Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong 1 learner, an avid reader, and loved music and art.

Born and raised in Long Branch, she traveled and settled throughout the world with her husband, a retired Air Force major, and her family, She was born and raised in Long Branch. Surviving are her husband, George R. Darrow; two sons and a daughter-in-law, George A. Darrow. and Robert and Rebecca Darrow; a daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Kenneth Booher; four grandchildren, Bryan and Kelly Booher, and Michael and Robert Darrow; and other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Goes-Scolieri Funeral Home, 212 Levitt Parkway, Willingboro. Interment will be at Beverly National Cemetery, Beverly. RUTH CASPER DOWNER, 87, of SPRING LAKE HEIGHTS, died Sunday at Riverview Medical Center. Red Bank.

She was an executive secretary at Westinghouse for many years. An avid traveler, she had been around the world several times. Born in Newark and raised in South Orange, she lived in Short Hills for 30 years before moving to the Shore area 20 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband of more than 25 years, Victor Downer. Surviving are a sister, Gladys G.

Birkenhauer of Spring Lake Heights; three nephews, Edward H. and his wife Candace Birkenhauer of Brielle, John Casper of Verona, and William Casper of Wayne; a niece, Regine Carol Birkenhauer of Richmond, and several other relatives. EVANS, 91, of LONG BRANCH, died yesterday at the Center for Hospice Care, Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She earned a nursing degree from Monmouth Memorial Hospital, Long Branch, and was a registered nurse at Monmouth Medical Center, for many years before retiring.

She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Long Branch, and was a lifelong resident of Long Branch. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis B. Evans; a son, B. Evans and a daughter, Mary Ann Zoppi.

Surviving are a son, Robert H. Evans of Melbourne, a daughter, Gwen Conner of West Long Branch; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell St.

at Broadway, Long Branch. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed interment at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. ANGELO GAMBA, 96, of Leon- ardo, MIDDLETOWN, died yesterday at home. He was employed by Thomas Edison West Orange, retiring many years ago.

He was a member of the Atlantic Highlands Senior Citizens Club and Atlantic Highlands Methodist Church. Born in Newark, he lived there before moving to Atlantic Highlands 27 years ago. He was predeceased by his parents, Celestino and Rosina Meo Gamba. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Katharine Gamba; a daughter, Judith Barnes; five granddaughters, Lynn Houghton, Laurie Klietchen, Lisa Veator, Leslie LaRocca and Mary Katherine Bunch; a grandson, Andrew Barnes; and 13 great-grandchildren. She and her family are thankful to all those who assisted in helping to maintain her quality of life during her years of illness. Surviving are her husband, Arthur; a son, Steven of Jersey City; a brother, Joseph Riggio of Queens; a niece, Denise De Luca; and two nephews, Glen and Ronald Deluca. A funeral Mass will be offered at 1 p.m. today at the Church of the Holy Innocents in Neptune.

Ely Funeral Home, Neptune, is in charge of arrangements. CHESTER ANTONELLI, 79, of WEST LONG BRANCH, died March 27 at Veterans Hospital New Jersey Health Care System, East Orange. He was a furniture Refinisher at Earl Water, Red Bank, for many years before retiring. He was an Army veteran of World War Il. He served as private first class and participated in battles in Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland.

He earned the American Service Medal; the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal; the Good Conduct Medal; the Victory Medal; and the Purple Heart. He was a tank radio operator, receiving and transmitting messages for his unit, and kept in communication with other tanks that relied on his lead tank for coded orders. He was well-acquainted with and used the phonetic alphabet. He served in England, France, Belgium, Luxemburg and Holland. Born in Rutherford, he lived in East Rutherford before moving to West Long Branch.

Surviving are two brothers, Anthony Antonelli of Oceanport, and Alfred Antonelli of Colts Neck; and three sisters, Marie Chasey of Long Branch, Christina Ferraro of Cleveland, and Theresa Russo of Eatontown. She did clerical work for several auto dealers over the years, and at Sea Breeze Ford for the last eight years.

Born in Passaic, she lived in Mount Lake for 17 years before moving to Spring Lake and then to Manasquan 17 years ago. She was predeceased by a brother, William, in 2001; and her parents, William and Mae Meyers. Surviving are her husband, Francis two sons, Frank X. of Bradley Beach, and William F. of Saugerties, N.Y.; four daughters, Marie Elena Buskirk of Center Moriches, N.Y., Mary Ann Cafiero of Boulder City, Melissa Gabriel of Pleasanton, and Barbara Jean Brandt of St.

Paul, a brother, Robert Meyers of New Brunswick; five grandchildren, Paula Marie and Lana Elise Gabriel, William Buskirk, and Margot and Brandon Brandt; and several nephews and nieces. CIAURRO CALABRESE, 81, of AVON, died Monday at Medi-Center, Nep- tune City. She was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church, Avon, where she was eucharistic minister and a member of the Altar Rosary Society and Court St. Elizabeth Catholic Daughters of America.

She was an awardwinning and gifted special education teacher for many years, with the "Special Children" of the Holy Innocents Society at St. Mark's Church, Sea Girt. Born in Jersey City, she moved to Avon in 1963. Her husband, Anthony, died in 1996. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Philip and Patty of Lakewood, and Jay and Barbara of Wall; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Frances Ciaurro of Hazlet; and two grandchildren, Brett and Lauren.

Visiting will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Reilly Funeral Home, 8th Avenue and Street, Belmar. Family and friends will gather at St. Elizabeth Church, Fifth and Lincoln avenues, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:15 a.m. Friday.

Entombment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Neptune. LAWRENCE RICHARD COCKS, 55, of MANASQUAN, died Saturday in Wall. He was a salesman. Born in Point Pleasant, he was a lifelong resident of Manasquan. Surviving are his wife, Cindy Dombrosky Cocks; a daughter, Danielle Christine Cocks, at home; his mother, Elizabeth Cocks, of North Carolina, and a brother, Thomas Cocks of North Carolina.

Friends are invited to call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Manasquan. A funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 10 a.m.

Friday at Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. NEARY-QUINN Dignity' MANASQUAN, N.J. 223-0003 EUGENE F. CRODDICK, 81, of FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, died yesterday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was founder and president of JFC Electronics Marlboro.

He served as the honorary chairman of Collier Services, Marlboro; was a member of the Navy League of the United States; a past president and trustee emeritus of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of the Jersey Shore; and a member of the Christian Brothers Academy Century Club, Lincroft, Middletown. He was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro. Born in South Amboy, he lived in Marlboro before moving to Freehold Township over 30 years ago.

Surviving are his wife, Florence Hanaway Croddick; a son, John F. Croddick of the Wickatunk section of Marlboro; four daughters, Jean Avery of Spring Lake, Patricia Delatush of Sea Girt, Mary Snyder of Marlboro, and Margaret Lempka of Farmingdale; a sister, Marjorie Molnar Wolters of Whiting, Manchester; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Freehold.

Born in Plainfield, she lived in Interlaken before moving to Englewood, in 1972. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Ruth Rose Hall. Surviving are three cousins, Maurine Eisenmenger of Winston Salem, N.C., Sheila O'Brien of Tallahassee, and Betty Miller of Ocala, Fla. A memorial Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St.

YVONNE LA ROSE MAGUIRE HAYNES, 100, of BRIELLE, died Saturday at Ger- Allenwood, Wall. aldine Thompson Care Center, Allenwood, Wall. A talented dressmaker, she was active in the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She was a member of the Order of the East- ern Star in Manhattan, and was an avid bridge player, a whiz at crossword puzzles, an accomplished piano player, and enjoyed mastering languages. She was the first of 17 children.

Born in Worcester, she lived in Brooklyn before moving to be with her daughter, Mary, in Brielle. She was predeceased by her first husband, Joseph J. Maguire, in 1961; her second husband, Walter Haynes, in 1976; two sons, Francis J. Maguire, in 1985, and John D. Maguire, in 1987; and her parents, Arsene and Georgianna Ethier LaRose.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Maguire Bradley Roberts of Brick, formerly of Brielle; a sister, Corinne LaRose Kusy of Holiday, 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at JohnsonMcGinley Funeral Home, Route 138, Wall, followed by a service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester, at a later date.

GREGORY HELM, 73, of North MIDDLE- TOWN, died Sunday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a reservations agent for 20 years for Eastern Airlines, Woodbridge, retiring in 1989.

She was a member of the Gold Star Wives. Born in Wilmington, she lived in Staten Island and Linden before moving to North Middletown in 1977. She was predeceased by her husband, Paul, in 1961. Surviving are a son, Richard Helm of Linden; two daughters, Susan LeMaster of Colorado Springs, and Paula Watkins of Lawrenceville, a brother, Richard Gregory of Houston; two sisters, Judy Gregory of Cardiff, and Rosemary Helm of Jasper, her mother, Ilona Ulaky Gregory of Cardiff; six grandchildren, Lisa, Lynnette, Michelle, Rich, Rachel and Paul; and a great-granddaughter, Amanda. She was a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, West End, Long Branch, and was involved with SIDS Alliance. Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, she lived in Tryon, N.C., before moving to Long Branch in October. She was predeceased by a daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Henry, in 2000. Surviving are her husband, Lowell A.

Henry III of Washington, D.C.; a son, Maxwell Timothy Henry at home; a brother, Vincent Michael O'Neil of Montclair; a sis- ter, Catherine Bradford O'Neil of Denver, and her parents, Robert and Caroline Skinner O'Neil of West Long Branch. He graduated from Julliard School of Music and went on to become an accomplished musician and violin teacher. He was also personnel manager for the New Jersey Symphony for many years.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War Il. He was a member of Jewish War Veterans Post 316. At 91, he continued entertaining professionally for his friends at Ocean Park Towers in Long Branch. He came to the United States from Russia, settling in Newark. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie; his parents, Joseph and Rose Jenett; and six brothers and sisters.

Surviving are a daughter, Ann Kugel of Cranford; two grandchildren, Marc Kugel and Ronnie Weed; a greatgrandson, Justin Kugel; six nieces and nephews; nine greatnieces several and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces great-great-nephews. Service was held yesterday at Congregation Brothers of Israel Cemetery, West Long Branch. Bloomfield Cooper Jewish Chapel of Ocean Township, was in charge of arrangements. THOMAS KALMAR, 58, of BELMAR, died Monday at Compassionate Care Hospice, Trenton. He was an electronics engineer at HB Registration, Linden, for 16 years, and worked there until his death.

Before that, he worked for Grumman Aircraft Engineering, Bethpage, Long Island. During his time at Grumman, he worked on NASA's lunar module. He was a Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Asbury-Wall Elks lodge, and a former member of the Neptune Jaycees. Born in the Bronx, he lived on Long Island before moving to Wall in 1973, and moved to Belmar nine years ago.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Kalmar; and a sister, Barbara Weiland. Surviving are his wife of nine years, Nancy Kalmar; two daughters, Wendy McNicholas of Oceanport, and Tracy Kalmar of Wall; a sister, Joyce Williams of Hollywood, and two grandchildren, Kelly and Jamie McNicholas. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at O'Brien Funeral Home, Route 35 at New Bedford Road, Wall.

Committal will be held 11 a.m. April 19 at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.

KELLEY, 83, of FREEHOLD, died Monday at home after a long illness. He worked for Charles Komar and Sons, South Amboy, for more than 50 years, retiring in 1981. He served in the Army during World War II from 1942 until 1946 and was an active member of American Legion Post 62, South Amboy.

Born in South Amboy, he lived there before moving to Freehold. He was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Lotz and Rosemarie Derent. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Kennedy Kelly; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Gomolka, Kathleen DelGuercio and Nancy Greberis; a son and daughter-inlaw, Thomas Kelley; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte Troyano; and four brothers, John, George, Jimmy and Robert. Born in Newark, she lived most of her life in Middletown. She was predeceased by her husband, John Mayer, in 1960; and a son, Ernest. Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Nancy Mayer of. Toms River; and two grandsons, Andrew and Adam. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.

MARY MC MAHON. 83, of HOWELL, died yesterday at Jackson Health Care Center. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, she came to the United States in 1950 and lived in the Bronx before moving to Howell six years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1973; and a son, Frank, in 1986. Surviving are four sons, Jim of Howell, Brian of Port St.

Lucie, Jerry of Florida, and Pat of New York: a brother, James Meehan of Ireland; 13 grandchildren; and nine great- great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6250 Route 9, Howell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m.

98, of WALL, died Sunday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Catharine's Church, Spring Lake. She was an Army nurse during World War II. Born in Newark, she lived in Belleville, 50 years in South Belmar, before moving to Wall eight months ago.

She was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Surviving are many nieces, nephews, great -nephews, great-nieces and and great-great-nieces and greatgreat nephews. Visiting will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Reilly Funeral Home, 8th Avenue and Street, Belmar.

The family will gather at the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catharine's Church, Spring Lake. In- terment will be at the Parish Cemetery.

ELSIE A. JONES PIPER, 94, of HOLMDEL, died Monday at Holmdel Healthcare Center after a lengthy illness. She graduated from the McDowell School of Designing and Dressmaking in 1945, which included instruction in expert tailoring. She was also a child care provider for many adoring children who cherished her kindness into their adulthood. Born in Balboa in the Panama Canal Zone, she immigrated with her siblings through Ellis Island and lived in Montclair, El Paso, Texas, and Los Angeles before moving to Aberdeen almost 55 years ago.

She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Piper, in 1987; and her parents, Henry and Ellen Archibald Jones. Surviving are a sister, Nestina Thomas of Brooklyn; a niece, Gail Harris of Aberdeen; and several other nephews and nieces. Entombment will be private at the request of the family and will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Holmdel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Holmdel. Childs Funeral Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements..
