She continued working in the family business as a secretary until 1988, when she retired at the age of 90. She was in fellowship at Fifth Avenue Chapel, Belmar, where she was active in many of the church activities. Born in Jersey City, she lived in Sea Girt before moving to Umatilla in 1997. Her husband, Alfred Thorn, died in 1954; a son, Glenn T. Thorn, died in 1994; and a granddaughter, Linda Suffes, died in 1995.

Surviving are a son, Bruce E. Thorn of Port Royal, S.C.; a daughter, Virginia Bigelow of Umatilla; a sister, Phyllis C. Stoveken of Atlanta; eight grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Fifth Avenue Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Street, Belmar.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Atlantic View Cemetery, Manasquan. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Christian Missions in Many Lands, P.O. Box 13, Spring Lake, NJ 07762 or the Visiting Nurse, Association of Central Jersey, 67 Main Manasquan, NJ 08736 in her memory would be appreciated. ROBERT F. TWIGG 84, of MIDDLETOWN, died Sunday at home. He owned his own truck and worked for AC Berwick Trucking Keasby. Before that, he worked for Western Electric, Kearny. He worked for 30 years, retiring in 1969.

He served in the Army for seven years in the 19th Infantry Division stationed in Hawaii as a private first class. The 19th was the oldest infantry division in Hawaii. He was a member of the Middletown Police Reserve, and Engine Company 1 and Middletown Elks, 2179, both of Belford. He was a member of King of Kings Lutheran Church, Middletown. Born in Cumberland, he lived in Jersey City before moving to Middletown 40 years ago.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Muriel Hickman Twigg; three sons, Steven R. of Jackson, and Robert F. and Clyde both of Middletown; four daughters, Joyce A. Kelly of Middletown, Carol A. Valky of Binghamton, and Susan J.

Manuel and Michelle Figel, both of Keyport; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown.

A funeral service will be held at 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. JOHN "JACK" WILKINS. 73, HOWELL, died Monday at home. He was a custodian for the Lakewood Board of Education for 18 years, retiring in 1989.

He was a member of the Lakewood Masonic Lodge and the Shriners Temple of Trenton. He loved bowling and being with his friends and family. Born in Bayonne, he lived in Lakewood before moving to Howell in 1984. Surviving are a brother, William of South Plainfield; a sister and AND OVER 200 LOCATIONS THE MONMOUTH HAROLD "BOOTS" SOLOMON. 70, of SEA BRIGHT, died Monday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.

He retired from Coast Construction West Long Branch, a business he maintained for more than 30 years, building and remodeling many of the local Baskin-Robbins ice cream stores. He was involved in real estate investing and the private mortgage business. He served as the building inspector for the Borough of Sea Bright for 15 years and was a member of the Sea Bright Planning Board for over 30 years. In his earlier years, he pitched for numerous local semi-pro baseball teams and softball leagues, one time against the King and his Court. He was an avid collector of old postcards, coins and baseball cards.

He attended Sea Bright Grammar School and graduated from Long Branch High School in 1947. He was a member of the Sea Bright Fire Department and served as fire chief 1967, and was a member of the Sea Bright First Aid Squad. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the New Jersey State Fire Chiefs Association; the Monmouth County Historical Association; the Howell Historical Association and other historical associations; and the American Legion. Born in Long Branch, he was a lifelong resident of Sea Bright.

His wife, Margaret Papa Solomon, died in 1996. Surviving are a son, Ben of Sea Bright; two daughters, JoAnn Owens of Little Silver, and Linda Milton of Freehold; a sister, Jeanne Fulton of Little Silver; a niece, Sandra Munson of Long Branch and Howell; and three grandchildren, Matthew Owens, Daniel Milton and Brandon Solomon. Relatives and friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by burial at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. EUGENIE BEER STILES, 84, of KEANSBURG, died yesterday at home. She was a member of St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, Keansburg.

Born in New York, she lived in Keansburg for the past 47 years. Her husband, Charles, died in 1978. Surviving are two sons, Howard of Pine Bush, N.Y., and Edward of Toms River; a daughter, Marynne Stiles Noviski of Keansburg; two grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Friday at Jacqueline M. Ryan Home for Funerals, 233 Carr Keansburg. A Mass will be offered 10:15 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann's Church, Keansburg.

DOROTHY "DOT" THORN, 101, of Umatilla, formerly of SEA GIRT, died Sunday at her daugh- SLEEPY'S 75 YEARS brother-in-law, Joyce and Bill Gofa of Howell; his companion, Patricia Matasovski of Lakewood; eight nieces and nephews; and 11 grandnieces and grandnephews. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6250 Route 9, Howell.

A funeral service will be held 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lakewood. VIRGINIA V. LYNCH WILSON. 82, of RED BANK, died Monday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank.

She was a homemaker and a communicant of St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel. Born in New York City. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry B. Wilson, in 1981; and her parents, Beverly and Gertrude Reilly Lynch.

Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Florence Wilson of Baldwin, N.Y., and Mark and Eileen Wilson of Freehold; two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Ronald Porio of Middletown, and Beverly and Maurice Maloney of Middletown; two sisters, Alice Kelleher of Syracuse, N.Y., and 1 Constance Milford, and six grandchildren, Kim and James Wilson, Matthew, Claire and Lisa Porio, and Laura Wilson. 91, of MILLSTONE TOWNSHIP, died Monday at The Manor, Freehold Township. She operated Freeze, an ice cream stand in Millstone Township, from 1959 until her retirement five years ago. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Englishtown. Born in Paterson, she lived in Totowa before moving to Millstone Township in 1959. Her husband, Albert Winschuh, died in 1970.

Surviving are two sisters, Christine VanHandel of Millstone Township, and Marie LaRegina of Albany, N.Y.; many nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews. Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Freehold. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated 9 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Englishtown, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.

Augustine, a daughter, Amy of Belmar; three stepdaughters, Barbara DeRogatis of Sea Girt, Lisa Ziolkowski of New York, and Kristina Ziolkowski of Hoboken; his parents, Sigmund and Stella Bukowski of Perth Amboy; a brother, Joseph of Wayne; a sister, Mary Ann DeMarco of Silver Springs, two step-grandchildren, Jim and Alexa DeRogatis. His wife, Lumacie Gant Buxton, died in 1993. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Linda Buxton of Brick; three daughters and a son-in-law, Phyllis.

She was a kindergarden teacher at Midstreams School, Brick, for many years, retiring in 1992. She was a graduate of Trenton State College with a bachelor's degree. She was a member of the Retired Teachers of Brick. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, Point Pleasant Beach.

Born in Newark, she lived in Brick most of her life. Her husband, Edward, died in 1993. Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen M. Graham, and a son, Gregory Carroll, both of Brick; a sister, Olivina Matts of West Palm Beach, and five grandchildren. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
