Jane 5. 1922 at TWO OPEN DATES ON W. J. GRID PROGRAM Washington. June 17.

W. will likely have a mid-season vacancy in its football schedule next fall. This is the result partly of circumstances which have not permitted Manager Murphy to complete his card, but chiefly because Coach Neale wants a breathing space for his team before engaging in the big championship battles. now has Oct. 21 and Oct- 2S open, these having been left unfilled when Murphy went with the team to California for the New Tear's day game.

The manager has not yet filled either of these, and it is not likely that he will maHe any further effort to booK a contest for Oct. 28. This is due to a request on the part of Coach Neale, who believes that the November schedule is so Tioaw that his rilayer will need a short rest before tackling five of the hardest games ever arranged for a Red. and Black team. On Nov.

4, J. goes to the Polo grounds for a tilt with Lafayette. Nov. 11 Wabash, one of the best teams in the middle west, will be played in Washington. Nov.

18 Pitt will be met at Forbes Field. Nov. 25 Detroit university, a powerful eleven, will be encountered in the Michigan city and West Virginia university will stage the annual Thanksgiving day clash with the Presidents at Morgantown. Murphy expects to fill Oct. 21 with one of the best college teams in the south for a game in Washington.

He is conducting negotiations with this end in view and believes he will be able to close contracts in a few days. A shift in two schedules will be necessary, but these it is felt certain 4tan be made and the Presidents given another big home engagement. i Perrysville Northsid ti' m- Friends of the family are attend- InteVmSnt Tuesday. These compulsory payments automatically provide in advance a fund of a little more than $300,000 a year from hich the coupons are cashed, the balance being used for the serial retirement of the bonds.
