Mr. Newman was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sorely missed. Born and raised in Spring Lake, he lived his entire life in Spring Lake. He was a graduate of Manasquan High School. Then had a military career as a Marine fighting in the Central Pacific in 1944 and 1945.

Mr. Newman retired as postmaster of Spring Lake. He began his postal service career in 1946 as a letter carrier and was a pointed postmaster in 1962, retiring in 1977. Mr. Newman was a past member of the American Legion, associate member of Spring Lake Fire Co.

1 and Goodwill Fire Co. 2. He was also a past institutional representative of the Cub Scouts, past president of Spring Lake-Sea Girt Little League and member of Spring Lake-Brielle Rotary Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Alice; three sons and daughters-in-law, Francis A. and MaryAnne Newman of Ocean Township, Stephen and Arlene Newman of Wall, and William and Karen Newman of Spring Lake; nine grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the NearyQuinn Funeral Home, 39 South Manasquan. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spring Lake Fire Company No.

1, 1007 5th Spring Lake, NJ 07762. ROSE M. MISSO NOBLE, 83, of HOLMDEL, died Thursday, Feb. 8, at Arnold Walter Nursing Home, Holmdel. She was a secretary, working at Fort Monmouth for 15 years.

Prior, she was a teacher's aide for Middletown Board of Education for many years. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church, Lincroft. She was born July 23, 1923, in Passaic and lived in Middletown for 39 years before moving to Holmdel three years ago. Surviving are a daughter, Michele Noble of Middletown; a son, Ronald Noble of Houston, Texas; and two grandchildren, Amanda and Tyler Noble. Funeral services are private.

GALLAGHER, 69, of BRIELLE, passed away Thursday, Feb. 8, at home, surrounded by his family, Tom was born April 14, 1937, in Jersey City and moved to Brick in 1955, then to Brielle in 1975.

Tom was the of Laurelton Welding Service, Point Pleasant Beach. He started his business in 1962, serving commercial fishing vessels all along the east coast. He enjoyed his business for 45 years. He was also the proprietor of Cline's Anchorage, Brielle, from 1975 to 1979. Tom was a man with a strong character and a kind heart.

He was a true and generous friend to many people. He was well-respected and very talented in his trade, a true craftsman. Tom was a caring and dedicated father and grandfather. He was very proud of his family. Tom enjoyed camping, fishing, spendtime with his friends the Men and his devoted German Schnauzer, Rudy.

Tom had a larger than life personality and will be missed deeply by many friends. Tom was predeceased by his father, Thomas Gallagher, in 1967; and his mother, Mary Gallagher, in 1994. Tom is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy; his children, Sheila and Russell Crane of Howell, Michelle and Lewis Voight of Wall, Thomas J. and Virginia Gallagher of Point Pleasant, and Todd Gallagher of Brielle; two brothers, Richard and Kevin Gallagher of Tennessee; a sister, Joan Gallagher of Whiting, Manchester; 11 grandchildren, Krystal, Russell, Ian, Austin and Madison Crane, Brittany, Alex, Weston, and Mitchell Voight, and Josh and Shannon Gallagher; and many nieces and nephews. MARY L. CLASS GALLERY, 86, of HAZLET, died Friday, Feb. 9, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Born May 23, Buffalo, N.Y., she married Edward T. Gallery in 1944 and lived in Bayonne until 1955, when she moved to the Madison Park section of Old Bridge, where she lived until moving to Hazlet in 2005.

Before retiring in 1998, she was employed by Astro Moulding, Old Bridge. She previously worked for W.T. Grant, Old Bridge. She was a life member of the Madison Park Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, serving since 1956.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward, in 1964; and two sons, Edward II, in 1992, and Donald, in 1999. She is survived by her son, Robert and his wife Maryjayne; three grandchildren, Robert, Colleen, and Ryan; a great-granddaughter, Shannen; three step, grandchildren, Amber Overholser, Jeff Machnik, and Erin Terbecki; three step great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jeffrey Machnik, and Peyton Terbecki; and a daughter-inlaw, Judith Gallery. 12, 1927, to Minor Victor and Helen Healier Hembling. On Jan. 14, 1956, he marriedCarol Jean Hardy in Red Bank. Dobber served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was a carpenter and member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, McKinney, Texas. He served his community as a volunteer fireman in Red Bank, and was a Scout leader, Pop Warner Football coach and Little League Baseball coach in Lincroft. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Becker; and a brother, Raymond Hembling. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol; two sons, JOSEPH M. PEPE, 81, former mayor of NEPTUNE, died Tuesday, Feb.

6, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Millburn, Joe was a strong- willed individual who was dedicated to his family, friends and country. He proudly served his country in World War II as a U.S. Marine. Later, Joe went on to become second vice president of Local 1245 in the retail clerk's union.

He was an organizer and business representative for the Teamsters Local No. 11, and was also employed by Monmouth Racetrack as a member of the Racing Commission. In the 1970s, Joe was elected to the office of mayor of Neptune for over a decade. He continued to work in the Neptune Housing Authority until his retirement in 2004. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, The V.F.W., The American Legion, The ItalianAmerican Club, Neptune Seniors Club, and was a long time parishioner of Holy Innocents Church, Neptune.

He was predeceased by his wife, June; his son, Michael; and his mother, Rose Pepe. Surviving are his daughter and son-inlaw, Donna and John Frasca of Little Egg Harbor, with whom he lived for the past two years; his sister, Angelina Pepe of La Mirada, two granddaughters, Gina O'Brien and her husband Christopher, and Dana Frasca; a great grandson, Daniel O'Brien; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Semple, and Bill Sabo and his wife Millie; and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-0050. GERALDINE HENRIQUES ROBERTS, 83, of NEPTUNE, made her transition on Tuesday, Feb. 6. Born in New York City, Mrs. Roberts moved to Neptune with her family 75 years ago.

She was a lifelong member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church, Asbury Park, where she has spent 50 years on the altar guild. She actively volunteered in many church and community activities and was a member of the National Council of Negro Women, Church Women United, Episcopal Church Women, and the Neptune Senior Citizens Walking Group. She was employed as an electronic technician at Fort Monmouth, Eatontown, until her retirement in February 1980. She was predeceased by her husband, Ulysses "U.L."; a son, Gerald; two sisters, Elaine and Ada; and a brother, Gerald.

Surviving are two daughters, Celeste Sang and Daphne Roberts; a son-in-law, Clive; four brothers, Cecil, David, Milton, and Kenneth Henriques; four grandchildren, Rhonda, Roger Gerald Kristen; nine great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family gratefully acknowledges the compassionate care Mrs. Roberts received from the Meridian Health Care System, Francis Asbury Manor, and the Medicenter. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the James H.

81, a lifelong resident of FREEHOLD, passed away Friday, Feb. 9, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was a retired meat cutter at ShopRite of Freehold. He was a 59-year member of the Freehold Fire Department and served as chief of the department from 1974 to 1976. He was a life member of the Freehold Fin, Fur and Feather Sportsman Club.

He was a former fire inspector for the Borough of Freehold. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion Post 54 of Freehold. He was a former member of Sons of Norway Noreg Lodge 466, Marlboro. He was predeceased by his parents, Sverre and Olga Ebbesen; and a brother, Gardner.

He is survived by his loving companion of 25 years, Mary Dore; his sisters, Eleanor Widdis of Oceanport, and Dorothy Jamison of Freehold; and a brother, John Ebbesen of Freehold. He is survived by his extended family of Mary's children, Helenea Tompkins of Freehold, Patricia and Tim Borsetti of Lakehurst, Charles and Jamie Megill of Freehold, Scott and Mindy Megill of Freehold, and Daniel and Denise Megill of Freehold. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren; and his best friend and fishing buddy, James F. Quinn. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

After marrying, she settled in Monmouth County along with her husband Larry, and raised two children. She attended New York University. For many years, she was employed as a bookkeeper at her husband's business, Feldman Electric Supply Red Bank, and later for Theodore Parsons at his law firm, retiring at 82 years old. She was an avid bridge player, enjoyed what was to be her last game just a week before she died. Her husband predeceased her in 1997, as did her brother, Benson.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy of Walnut Creek, her son, Steve and daughter-in-law Anita of Ocean Township; and three grandchildren, Sharon, Adam, and Jill. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at BloomfieldCooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean Township. ROONEY, 58, of Belford, MIDDLETOWN, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, at St. James Hospital, Newark. He was a jet turbine mechanic for Newark for many years. He was a Army veteran of the Vietnam Era.

Born and raised in Jersey City, he lived in Belford since 1976. Surviving are his wife, Cathy Rooney; a son and daughter-inlaw, Ian and Kristin Rooney of Port Monmouth, Middletown; a brother, Patrick Rooney of Maine; and a cousin, Carol Callari of North Bergen. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the John F.

He was born in New York City, but was currently living in Neptune. Owen worked as a driver for Teamsters Local 817, based in New York City, for nine years. Before that, he owned and operated various collision repair shops for 35 years. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He is survived by his wife, Joan Sherry; a daughter, Jeanne Sherry; a son and daughter-inlaw, Stephen and Catherine Sherry; a daughter and son-inlaw, Lauren and Tom Scheuing; a sister, Ann Weldon; a grandson, Robert Caputo; and a granddaughter, Rachel Sherry.

He was predeceased by his son, Michael Sherry, in 1998. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at St. Agnes R.C. Church, Center Avenue, Atlantic Highlands. Burial will be at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown.

He was born in Jersey City and moved to Union Beach. He currently resided in West Keansburg. He worked for Motor Freight as a truck driver and also Shop-Rite of Middletown.

He loved fishing, boating, and just being near the water. He was loved by all and will be greatly missed. He remained strong throughout his illness. He was a loving father and a Poppy to all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Carol and Bob Johnson of Whiting, Manchester, Linda and James Pollard of West Keansburg, and Farley and Carol Smallze of West Keansburg; his brother, Raymond; a sister, Pauline; six grandchildren, Bobby, Taryn, Jimmy, Michele, Stacy, and Jill; and 10 great dren and one on the way.

He is also survived by his extended family at Outpatient Infusion nurses, Jackie, Peggy, Nancy, MaryEllen, and Ginny for their great care. Cremation will be private. HAROLD SMALLZE, 77, of SHIRLEY DEBORAH WELT, 90, of Bridgewater, formerly of TINTON FALLS, died Friday, Feb. 9, at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Max and Yetta Held.

She had resided at Chelsea of Bridgewater for the past seven months, having previously lived at Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls, and Wynmoor Village i in Coconut Creek, prior to that. A former middle school teacher of ceramics in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Welt was a lifelong member of Hadassah, as well as a faithful supporter of the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., and Brandeis Swimming. A family. oriented person and talented sculptor, she enjoyed keeping up with current events around the world.

Her husband, Frank Welt, died in 1978. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Esther Klein and Nettie Weber. Surviving are a son, Martin J. Welt of Nobleboro, Maine; two daughters, Roni Stolpen of Branchburg, and Elisabeth Novotny of Chatsworth, a brother, Lawrence S. Held of Lahabra, seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Flemington. Interment will follow in Beth Moses Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y. OCEAN SIGRID HEINCHON BORTKO, 50, of PINE BEACH, died Friday, Feb. 9, at home, after a valiant journey with breast cancer, a disease that never defined her. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend to all. She had an intense passion for providing care to others.

Sigrid was born in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.,and raised in nearby Pawling. She graduated from Duchess Community College. She received her bachelor's degree in Nursing from Thomas Edison College. She was a nurse for the Meridian Health Care System for over: 25 years. Her last position was at Jersey Shore University Medical Center as an infection control nurse.

Sigrid is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Stephan; her daughter, Shana; her twin sons, Stephen and Seth; her parents, Thomas and Thelma Heinchon; her sisters, Kathleen and Colleen; her brother, John; and many aunts and uncles. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Route 9, Bayville. 8, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Millville, she lived in Horseheads, N.Y., before moving to Holiday City Berkeley 13 years ago. She was the first female chemical operator after World War Il with Hoffmann LaRoche, Nutley, for many years, retiring in 1991. She was an avid Bridge player and chairperson of the Tuesday Afternoon Social Bridge Club and the Friday Afternoon Duplicate Bridge Club, both of Holiday City Berke ley. She took pride in her garden and people enjoyed looking at the beautiful flowers.

She was a collector of antiques and also a lover of animals. She loved to travel extensively with her loving husband John, traveling throughout Europe. Mrs. Cameron was a descendent of William Penn. She was a loving wife, mother and was treasured very much.

She was predeceased by her son, Walter Ciz and her brothers, Harry and John. Surviving are her husband, John; a son, Bruce Ciz and his wife Lois of Gouverneur, N.Y.; two daughters, Darlene CizMarsico and her husband Anthony of Harrisburg, and Sandra Penn-Bib and her husband Porter of Manhattan, N.Y.; three brothers, Bobby, Donald, and Brian, all of Millville; three sisters Joan, Delcena, and Lillian, all of Millville; three grandchildren, Cheryl Seubert, Walter Ciz III, and Nicholas dren, Gavin and Tyler Seubert.
