ST. JOE CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS SEE SPECIAL HIM ST. JOE Daughters of America Court St. Joseph met Wednesday for their regular monthly meeting with grand regent, Mrs. Frank Reding, presiding.

The Rosary, proceeded the meeting, which 'was offered for Mrs. Richard Kohlhaas and all other members who are on the sick list. A film on, the Retarded Child was shown and a free will offering was given the organization. Card bingo with prizes given by the committee in charge. In charge of'lunch and social hour were Ted.

Wagner, Mrs Leo Mrs. Willis Thilges, Mrs. Maggie Thilges, Mrs. Nicholas Weydert and Mrs. Peter Ziemet.

The C. D. of A. will hold their nnual guest night on Thursday vith a 6 o'clock pot-luck dinner St Joseph's School Hall. Committee in charge of dinner and ocial hour will be Mrs.

Nick Bor- nann. Friendly Club Meets The Ladies' Friendly Club met the home of Mrs. Julius Cape- ius with Mrs. A. C.

Bernau as assistant hostess. The meeting vas opened by Mrs. Bernau, hairman. Roll call was answer- by My Favorite TV or Radio Program, and also, How I Spent hristmas. Old and new business was discussed, and then the so- committee took charge.

Five luridred was played with Mrs. Anto Weydert receiving high Drize and Mrs. Paul Thilges, low. jrize. Guests were Mrs.

Ann hospital, Alona, Wednesday, where she had seen a patient the past month. Wrs. Origer had suffered back 'njuries in a fall down basement in her home. Lutheran Aid Holds Meeting at Lakota LAKOTA The Lutheran Ladies Aid met Wednesday af- at the Parish Hall with Mesdames Muriel Boettcher, Alina Edwards and Geneva Pope as hostesses. Delores Sachs gave the devotions; the Rev.

L. Meinecke gave the Bible study on The Wise Men Story; the Junior trio from high school, Marcelyn Erdhal, Donna Hertzke and Cynthia Thompson, sang two numbers. Thesenior trio, Paula Buckels, Marlene Christ and Lillian Meyer sang two numbers. Thank offering boxes will be kept by each member again until next fall and be turned hi at the Reformation festival. The money will be used for stained windows.

Committees were appointed for the new year. Lunch was served by the hostesses. Women's Fellowship Circles to Meet The Congregational circles of the Women's Fellowship will meet with the following hostes- ses on Thursday 17: Rutn circle at 1:15 with Mrs. Edith Buchanan; Naomi circle at 1:15 with Mrs. Ted Larson; Rebecca circle at 1:15 with Mrs.

Wendell French; Martha circle at 8 p. with Mrs. Ted Chrischilles; Mary circle at 8 with Mrs. Helen Rode. I HOMEMAKERS OF IRVINGTON MEET The Irvinglon Homemakers club met Jan.

9 at the home of Mrs. Glen' Peglow with Mesdames Roland Haas and Howard Miller assisting. It was suggested that members unable to attend a meeting should inform the hostess by the previous day. Mrs. Wilbert Ruhnke was welcomed as a new member.

For the monthly surprise num- ber, Mrs. John Sehnackenbcrg showed movies of the club women square dancing. Lunch was served following adjournment. The next meeting, a Valentine party, will take place Feb. 13 at Mrs.

TEEN-AGE POLIO DRIVE PLANNED Kossuth polio chairman Olive Carlson conferred with Jud Ncwbrought, Lone Rock, con cerning a TAP drive in the cpun ty during the March of Dime campaign.

The TAP stands fo Teen-agers against Polio and drive for funds in county schools is planned. SERVICES FOR MRS. BLEICH, 69 HELD AT BURT BURT Services for Mrs. Louise Bloich were held Friday at 1:30 p. in St.

John's Lutheran church, the'Rev. E. L. Wittkopp officiating. Mrs.

Raymond Lavrenz was organist and vocalists were Mrs. Eugene Meyer, Janice Bierstedt, Sharon Miller, Ladora Peter, Mary Lou Presthus, Judy Wicske. the St. John's Ladies Aid sung, Beautiful Savior. Pallbearers were Irving Anderson of Shakopce, Anderson of Eau Claire, Ranny Putz of Faribault, Ortwin Blcich of Hampton, Albert Blcich of Scarville, and Herbert Bleich of Mapleton.

Arrangements were in charge of: the McCu'lloufih Funeral Chapel of Algona. Burial in Burl cemetery. Mrs. Louise Margaret Bleich, nee Falk, was the daughter of ohn Falk and his wife Louise Mueller. Shu was born May 11, 887 at Castle Rock, Wis.

As an nfant she was baptized, with the lev. Anderward officiating. Mrs. Bleich came to wit)) er parents in 1894. The family ettled near the Phelps home, vest of what is now Titonka, in 'ortland twp.

They conducted a ountry store and post office, she received her schooling. 1899 her parents moved their tore -into the newly founded own of Titonka. The family attended the Lu- Jieran church at Plum Creek. In he spring of 1902, after a course instruction in the fundamen- al doctrines of Christian reli- ion she gave testimony of her aith in the LutHeran church by lie rite of Confirmation, the Rev. A.

Bleich on Sept. 12, VI. Behrcnds officiating. She was united in marriage to 906, by Pastor Bchrends. The vedding took place on the Bleich arm east of Burl.

This union 'as blessed with two children, (Mrs. O. T. Cherland) of one Rock, and Raymond of ibby, Mont. The young couple made their home on the Bleich farm until 923 when they moved to Hurt, during the depression from 1932 1936 they again lived on the arm, coming to Burl once more 1936, where they have lived ince, and where she died last A'cek Monday.

Mrs. Blcich was an active- member of the Lutheran church all her life. At first she was a member of the Plum Creek Lutheran church and when it dissolved, she and Mr. Bleich joined St. John's Lutheran church in 3urt in 1913, and were active members since.

Mrs. Bleich was also active as a member of the Ladies Aid, being a charter member. On Sept. 12, 1956 the Bleichs celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary. While Mrs.

Bleich had been under doctor's care for several years, she enjoyed comparatively fdlr he'aTtlV'arid' was 'be- ai-ound. Last week Sunday she attended church services and the Holy Sacrament. In the afternoon she attended a Golden wedding celebration of the Rugers at Lu- Verne. Monday afternoon her daughter Luella came to help her prepare for the meeting of the Birthday circle to which she belonged, and which was to be held in her home Friday. Mrs.

Cherland left and Mrs. Bleich lay down to rest and read. She died at the age of 69. Surviving are her 'husband, R. A.

Bleich, her daughter her husband of Lone Rock, and her son Raymond, his wife and daughter Jerri, of Libby, Mont. Also surviving are three brothers, Otto Falk, Taconia, Arthur Falk, Salem, and John Falk of Algona, and many relatives and friends. Her parents and sister Matilda preceded her in death. Out of town relatives attending the services were Isabella Leek, Spring Green, Mrs. Luther Johnsrud, Avoca, Dr.

J. S. Marteel, of Dodgeville, Mr. and Mrs. O.

W. Bleich. Hampton; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Root, Aitlcin, Mr.

Miss Smith is a graduate of Harcourt high school vyith the class of 1955 and also attended Tobin Business College, at Fort Dodge. She is now employed the Public Dodge. Mr. Peterson is self-employed as a carpenter at Fort Dodgo. The wedding is planned for February 10 at 2:30 p.

Ashton who have been living in the trailer court here have purchased the acreage of Adolph Hendrickson south of town. Their son Darrell was married Dec. 30 in the Mt.
