Hood County Surveyor Q. B. Jones Judiana guessenger. Dr. Pinkerton At Plumville The Leadership Training School to be held at Plumville in November conaiders itself fortunate in having this famous United Presbyterian leader to teach its class in Chunch History.

Dr. Pinkerton has recently created a great intrest among his members in his recent sermons on the leaders of the church. And now he does this larger piece of service to our community by bringing all classes, a conception of the whole development of the church! from the time it numbered only a few hundred until it now covers the earth in its influence and power. You may enroll in this school with Norman Laughrey, of Marion Center or with Mr. D.

W. Douds, of Plumville. There are other courses of study for those intrested in BibleStudy, The Pupil, or the Junior Worker. Celebrated 53rd Anniversary. the family, Saturday, October 22nd, at which members of the family were present.

The reunion was in lieu of the 63rd wedding anniversary which occurs on November 19, but at which time it would not have been possible to have gotten the family together. Mr. ond Mrs. D. A.

Ounningham, of. 734 Wayne Avenue had a reunion of Yet She Can Teach. Some funny things occurred at the recent primary in Nanty-Glo which didn't get into court. In one of the previnets a teacher in our public schools asked for assistance in marking her ballot. The board required her to make an affidavit that she was not able to do so without help, and shel signed a sworn statement that she was not able to read or write.

She is still. drawing a salary as teacher in the public Journal. Citizens' Club Holds Election. Election of officers featured the supper-meeting of the Italian and American Citizens' Club at Beyer, on Saturday evening. Ross DeGaetano was named president; J.

T. Sonni, vice' president; P. Dalessio, secretary and John Perry, treasurer. The speakers for the occasion were E. E.

Creps, of Indiana; Dr. W. J. Gatti, of Punxsutawney, and Dr, C. M.

Smith, of Plumville. Remarks were made by other visitors from Punxsutowney and the members of the club. Music was furnished by a quartet of Punxsutawney singers and Nick accordionist. Miss Delphine M. Kennedy, who was taken into the home of Mr.

and Mrs. W. T. Mahaffey, of' Cherrytree, when but five years of age, upon the death af her mother, graduated. Ootaber 4, at the head of her class in the threerear course of training for' nurses in the Columbia hospital, Pittsburgh.

Miss Kennedy was considered one of the best nurses in the hospital. SHERIFF'S PROCLAMATION John M. To vote for a person whose name is not on the ballot, write or paste his or her name in the blank space provided for that purpose. This shall count as a vote either with or without the cross mark, To vote for an individual candidate of another party after making a mark 'in the party square, mark a cross (X) opposite his or her name.

For an office where more than one candidate is to be elected, the voter, after marking in the party square, may divide his or her vote by marking a cross (X) to the right of each candidate for whom he or she desires to vote. State or of the United States, or any city or incorporated district, and also every member of Congress, and of the State Legislature and of the select and common council of any city or commissioners of incorporated districts, by law incapable of holding or exercising. at the time the office or appointment of Judge, Inspector or Clerk of any election in this Commonwealth, and that' 'as Judge, Inspector of other officer of such election shall be ineligible to any office to be then voted a for except that of an election officer. Also that the 4th section of the Act of Assembly entitled, 'An Act relating to the elections for other purposes," approved April 13th, 1860, it is enacted that the 14th section shall not be 80 construed as to prevent any military officer from serving Judge, Inspector or Clerk at any special or general election in this Commonwealth.

I was nominated on the Democratic and Prohibition tickets, and I solicit the votes of all who favor me with their support at the primary election, as well as the vote of all those who through a misunderstanding may have supported my opponent. I have 41 years' experience as a surveyor and have been county surveyor for 12 years without any com'pensation. I am a resident of Indiana county.
