The Jareckis also have two daugh ters, Divonne, a lawyer and theater producer; and Lianna, a science teacher. Carol Jarecki has been an international arbiter since 1984, and she said it's a good job "not a regular job" which requires a lot of diplomacy, since chess players can be, well, touchy. "They're individualists," is how she put it.
