He was a retired elevator operator with Local 32, New York. Mr. Cavallo was born in New York and lived in Union City, Long Branch and Fort Lauderdale, before moving to Effort a year ago. His wife, Margaret Cavallo, died in 1977. Surviving are a son, Michael Cooper City, two daughters, Marie Wynne, Effort, and Betty Ann Wilson, New York; six grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

DEAN. 83, of Lake Ha- vasu City, formerly of Manahawkin, STAFFORD TOWNSHIP and EATONTOWN, died Thursday at the Lake Hills Inn nursing home, Lake Havasu City. She worked briefly as a real estate agent and was a registered nurse and a volunteer grandparent for the New Lisbon State School, Pemberton Township.

Mrs. Dean was born in Bergenfield and lived in Harrington Park, Manahawkin, Stafford Township and Eatontown before moving to Lake Havasu City one year ago. Her husband, Harvey M. Dean, died in 1981. Surviving are two sons, Robert, Kingman, and Harvey Merritt, Harrington Park; a daughter, Betty Ann Fisher, Kingman; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, Kingman, is in charge of arrangements. CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was a retired bookkeeper. She attended St. Alexander Nevsky Russian Orthodox Church, Howell Township.

Mrs. Dodina was born in the former USSR and had lived there before moving to Freehold Township six years ago. FIGART 67, of Sarasota, formerly of OCEAN TOWNSHIP, died May 3 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Sarasota. He was a high school and middle school music teacher for more than 27 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Air Force Band and a member of the Presbyterian Church, Belmar. Mr. Figart was born in Wilkes Barre, and lived in Ocean Township before moving to Sarasota in 1985.

He is predeceased by his wife, Mary Kay. Surviving are two sons, Ronald Luizzi, Kona, Hawaii, and Philip Luizzi, Belmar; two daughters, Judith Danley, Del Ray Beach, and Angele Rosen, Resdea, a brother, Thomas Las Cruces, N.M.; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. National Cremation Society, Sarasota, is in charge of arrangements. DAVID GRANDON GILL, 72, of Darien, formerly of LONG BRANCH, died April 27 at Stamford Hospital, Stamford, Conn. He was a lawyer with Sullivan Cromwell and Davis Polk, New York.

He also worked in the law department of Exxon, formerly Standard Oil Co. He retired from Exxon in 1989, but continued to work for the company as a consultant associated with the law firm of Decker, Hubbard and Weldon, New York. He was a 1947 magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College, where he served as an editor of the Crimson and secretary of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1951. He served in the Army in New Guinea and the Philippines.

He was a member of the American Society of International Law, serving as its president from 1984 to 1986, the American branch of the International Law Association and the Antitrust and International Law Sections of the American Bar Association. He also was a member of the Tokeneke Beach Club, Darien. Mr. Gill was born in Long Branch. Surviving are his wife, Josephina Gill; a son, Eric, New York; two daughters, Stephanie, Darien, and Valerie, Philadelphia; a sister, Myrtle Nelson, Bethesda, and a brother, Richard Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Edward Lawrence Fu- neral Home, Darien, was in charge of arrangements. MARY HRABOSKY, 86, of Port Monmouth, MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, died yesterday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a cashier for Horn and Hardart Restaurant, New York, for more than 40 years, retiring in 1978. She was a communicant of St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, North Middletown section of Middletown.

Ms. Hrabosky was born in Pottsville, and lived in New York, before moving to Port Monmouth in 1979. Surviving are a brother, Michael Hrabosky, West Hempstead, N.Y.; a sister, Ann Miller, Munchy Valley, and several nieces and nephews. John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, is in charge of arrangements.

ANNA LOUISE HULBERT, 92, of Winter Park, formerly of SEA GIRT, died Wednesday at Mariner Health Care Center, Winter Springs, Fla. Mrs. Hulbert was born in Columbia, S.C., and lived in Bergen County and Sea Girt, before moving to Winter Park 36 years ago. Her husband, Jason H. Hulbert, died in 1973.

3. Surviving are a son, the Rev. Canon James E. Hulbert, Winter Park, a daughter, Ann L. Carey, Jacksonville, one grandson and two great-grandchildren.

O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township, is in charge of arrangements. NETTIE LOU JONES, 86, Cliffwood section of ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP, died Friday at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel Township. She was a factory machinist with Anchor Glass Cliffwood, for 15 years, retiring in 1978. Ms. Jones was born in Walkerton, and lived in Perrineville, Millstone Township, before moving to Cliffwood six years ago.

Surviving are a daughter, Anna Smith, Keyport; a brother, John Jones, Keyport; three grandchildren, and one great grandson. Day Funeral Home, Keyport, is in charge of arrangements. JAMES P. KENNY, 89, of Clearwater, formerly of SPRING LAKE, died Friday at home. He was a construction tradesman and a union representative of tunnel and subway construction workers.

In 1950, he founded a construction business known as Tunnel Construction, Spring Lake, retiring 20 years ago. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825, the family life movement of the Diocese of Paterson, the Boy Scouts of America and the Knights of Columbus. He also was a communicant of St. Cecelia's Roman Catholic Church, Clearwater, and St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Spring Lake.

Mr. Kenny was born in New York, and lived in Jersey City and the Morristown area for many years before moving to Spring Lake and Clearwater. He is predeceased by two sons, James Jr. and John Kenny. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Edna M.

Austin Kenny; three sons, Patrick, Randolph, Thomas, Montville Township, and Austin, Brick Township; four daughters, Meryle Myatt, University Place, Kathleen McGillan, McLean, Elaine Renner, Dover Township, and Bridgette Kenny, Clearwater; a brother, John, Cape Cod, a sister, Agnes Broche, Crystal River, 13 grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. O'Brien Funeral Home, Wall Township, is in charge of arrangements. GARY KWIATKOWSKI, 42, of FREEHOLD, died Friday at Cen- traState Medical Center, Freehold Township. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, Freehold, for 16 years.

He was a communicant of St. Veronica's Roman Catholic Church, Howell Township, and a member of its choir. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Mr. Kwiatkowski was born in Newark and lived in Brick Township before moving to Freehold four years ago.

Surviving are his wife, Sharon Russo Kwiatkowski; a son, Edward Thomas, and a daughter, Danielle Marie, both at home; his parents, Edward and Susan D'Alessandro Kwiatkowski, Toms River; two brothers, Samuel, Brick Township, and Edward, Ann Arbor, Mich. The Fiore Funeral Home, West Long Branch, is in charge of arrangements. NANCY M. MACKENZIE, 41, of Bozeman, formerly of FREEHOLD, died May 2 in Bozeman. She was the founder of Mesa International, a design and import business specializing in dinnerware, now located in Warner, N.H.

She was a 1974 graduate of Freehold High School and a 1978 graduate of Principia College, Elsah, where she majored in art. Mrs. MacKenzie was born in Freehold and lived in Bozeman for the past six years. Her mother, Martha Ash Morey, died in 1997. Surviving are her husband, Donald R.

MacKenzie; a son, Tucker, and a daughter, Taylor, both at home; her father, W. Dunham Morey, Freehold, and a sister, Holly M. Block, San Clemente, Calif. Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, is in charge of arrangements. MICHELLE LORY MC -BANKS.

59, of WEST LONG BRANCH, died Thursday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a special education teacher at the Long Branch High School for the past nine years. She taught in the Wyandanch Public Schools, Wyandanch, N.Y., the Cooperative Public School, Copiaque, N.Y., and Lincoln Hall Residential School, Lincolndale, N.Y. She received a bachelor's degree in 1980 from Virginia Union University, Richmond, and master's degrees from Hofstra University, Hempstead, N.Y. (1987) and from Monmouth University, West Long Branch (1996).

She was a member of the Long Branch School Employees' Association, Monmouth County Education Association, the New Jersey Education Association, the Monmouth County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Trinity A.M.E. Church, Long Branch, and the Monmouth County Chapter of Jack and Jill, Inc. Mrs. McDowell-Banks was born in Stanford, Conn. and was a lifelong resident of the Shore area.

Surviving are her husband, Kevin Banks; a son, Marcolm, at home; a daughter, Jantell, at home; and a brother, Ralph J. McDowell, Pittsgrove. The James H. Hunt Funeral Home, Asbury Park, is in charge of arrangements. LT.

CMDR. FREDERICK CHARLES MURNANE 70, of MANASQUAN, and Palm Beach Shores, died Thursday at the hospice of Palm Beach County, West Palm Beach, Fla. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, retiring in 1973. After retiring, he was a real estate broker with the Ward Wight Agency, Manasquan.

He was a 1952 graduate of Bucknell University, Lewisburg where he was a member of its undefeated football team and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He was a member of the South Monmouth Board of Realtors, the New Jersey Association of Realtors, the Retired Officers Association and the Bucknell Alumni Association. Mr. Murnane was born in Trenton and moved to Manasquan in 1973. Surviving are a son, Frederick C.

Old Bridge Township; four daughters, Teresa and Margaret Murnane, Manasquan, Mary Murnane, Gallup, N.M., and Patricia Buglino, Butler; his former wife, Patricia Murnane; his mother, Harriet Murnane, Manasquan, two brothers, John Springfield, and Owen, Mount Laurel Township; a sister, Margaret Cortese, Manasquan, and one granddaughter. The Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, Manasquan, is in charge of arrangements. CHARLES B. PRATT 75, of Lebanon, Maine, whose daughter lives in 1 HOWELL TOWNSHIP, died Wednesday at Miles Memorial Hospital, Damariscotta, Maine. He worked at Shop 'n Save, Sanford, Maine, and was the former owner of Cozy Corner Store and Pratt's Variety, both Sanford, and the Village General Store, East Pittston, Maine.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as a gunnery instructor. He was a former professional baseball player with the Augusta Senators and the Boston Braves farm system. He was a member of the Thomas W. Cole Post 19 American Legion, Sanford. Mr.

Pratt was born in Togus, Maine. His wife, Barbara Lancaster Pratt, died in 1991. Surviving are three sons, Richard South Bristol, Maine, Charles B. Southport, N.C., and Bruce Bellevue, three daughters, Carolann Rines, Wiscasset, Maine, Terrie Mergner, Howell, and Pamela J. McGahey, Elizabeth, W.Va.; a brother, Lewis North Fort Myers, four sisters, Mildred Pierce, Five Islands, Maine, Louise Skidmore, Farmingdale, Maine, Barbara Jean Pinkham, Richmond, Maine, and Dorothy Tavernier, Traveras, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Heald Funeral Funeral Chapels, Springvale, Maine, is in charge of arrangements. MABEL T. RICHARD. 73, of Lincroft, MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, died Friday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a former co-owner of Richard General Store, Jamesburg, for nine years and a supervisor with New Jersey Bell Telephone for six years.

She was a communicant of St. Leo the Great Roman Catholic Church, Lincroft. Mrs. Richard was born in Red Bank and lived in Fair Haven and Port St. Lucie, before moving to Lincroft seven years ago.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Richard, and a daughter, Shirley Richard. Surviving are a daughter, Joann C. Brancel, Burton, Ohio; four sisters, Mildred Trocchia, Red Bank, Mary Williams and Josephine Butler, both Fair Haven, and Rose Chevy, Fort Lauderdale, and two grandchildren. John E. HELEN CAMPBELL SWEENEY, 92, of MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, died Friday a at home. She was a second-grade school teacher at St. Mary's Grammar School, New Monmouth section of Middletown, for 15 years. She later taught St. Mary's Catechism for many years and was an active member of the Legion of Mary and St.

Mary's Thrift Shop. Mrs. Sweeney was born in Bayonne and lived there before moving to Middletown in 1955. Her husband, Cornelius J. Sweeney, died in 1975.

Surviving are a sister- -in-law, Mary Brophy, and many nieces and nephews. John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown, is in charge of arrangements. OCEAN DONALD M. APPLEGATE, 74, Meadowbrook Village, JACKSON TOWNSHIP, died Friday at home.

He was a self-employed mason contractor for the Willis Applegate Sons Lakewood, for 40 years, retiring in 1987. He was a Navy veteran serving in World War II and was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Medal with four stars, the American Area Medal, the European-African Medal with one star, the Victory the Philippine Liberation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Philippine Independence Air Medal. He was a life member and past president of the Lakewood Black Hawks and a member of the American Legion Post 166, Lakewood, the Air Group VT Four Reunions, and the Central Jersey Depression Glass Club. Mr. Applegate was born in Howell Township and lived in Lakewood for 46 years before moving to Jackson two years ago.

Surviving are his wife, Janice E. Johnson Applegate; four daughters, Donna Dowling, Manchester Township, Jan Andersen, Wall Township, Jill Vickers, Aspen, and Patricia Binaco, Upton, his mother, Linda Mae Estelle Applegate, Point Pleasant, two brothers, Willis Manchester, and Harold, Mechanicsburg, a sister, Evelyn Theibault, Lakewood; 10 granddren. BORRIELLO-LAPARI, 61, of BARNEGAT TOWNSHIP, died Friday at home. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator with Local 825 Operating Engineers, Little Falls, for 10 years, retiring in 1991. Mr. Borriello-Lapari was born in Union Township and lived in Newark before moving to Barnegat 25 years ago. Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Jean Homoky Lapari; four sons, Joseph, Tuckerton, James, Barnegat, Steven, Surf City, and Jack V.

Barnegat; two daughters, Barbara, Manahawkin, Stafford Township, and Gloria, Barnegat; a sister, Gloria Sauratino, Lake Worth, and eight grandchildren. He was a steam fitter with the Newark Housing Authority for 25 years, retiring in 1973.

He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 37229, Long Beach Island, the American Legion Wesley Taylor Post 232, Barnegat, a charter member of the Jersey Shore Irish American Club of Ocean County, the Amergael Association of New Jersey, a former member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh of West Orange, the IVES Marie Nash, 74, on of Springhill, Florida. She performed clerical work for Prudential Insurance Company, Newark, for 24 years, retiring in 1965. Mrs. Farese was born in Newark and lived in Union before moving to Cedar Glen West 30 years ago. Surviving are her husband of 72 years, Emil J. Farese; a son, Emil Daytona Beach, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Fresco was born in Newark and lived in South Toms River and the Holiday City section of Toms River before moving to Hillsborough three years ago.

Her husband, George C. Fresco, died in 1981. Surviving are a son, George Cinnaminson; four daughters, Dale Walsh, Hillsborough, Mildred Brauss, Asbury Park, Sally Austin, Linden, and Linda Fresco, Rahway; a brother, Louis Crisitello, Newark; a sister, Rose Palombo, Toms River; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
