Asbury Park Press APP.COM Pag Saturday, April 2, 2011 Ingredients' authors at library in Barnegat From IBojr to Boss Indie film to screen in Red Bank 4 By STEPHEN BOVE STAFF WRITER Imagine the quintessential chase movie, except the heroes are armed with nothing but Jersey attitude and a killer homegrown soundtrack. And the villains? Well, there are none. After nearly four years of blood, sweat and celluloid, the final cut of Shore auteur Chris Vaughn's feature-film debut, "Jersey-boy Hero," is set to be unveiled April 7 atClearview Cinemas in Red Bank. Conceived, shot and cut in the Garden State, the film documents the journey of Vaughn, a longtime musician, to get his debut album, "For Those That Have Ears," into the hands of one of the two of New Jersey's most iconic rock 'n' roll figures: Bruce Springsteen or Jon Bon Jo-vi. What happens from there? You'll have to check out the film and find out, but let's just say Jersey audiences will appreciate the outcome, as well as the many instantly recognizable faces that pop up along the way.

"It's an inspirational tale, but it's also been a real trial for me, and you'll see that in the film," Vaughn Top 10 iTunes musician Chris Vaughn, maker salsa and jalapenos, you're on your way to a fantastic dinner. Too many ingredi, ents can make dinner a chore. If you have a cup of peanut butter, an egg, some cinnamon and sugar, you can make some fabulous peanut butter cookies." McCosker and Bermingham will make some of those peanut butter cookies for their appearance Thursday at the Ocean County Library in Barnegat. They will make some other treats for folks to sample and they will talk about "4 Ingredients" and sign copies. "We're looking forward to seeing as many people as possible while we're here in New York," McCosker said.

"We would love to get the word out about what we're doing." McCosker and Bermingham, who also host a popular Aussie TV show, that's also dubbed "4 Ingredients," will also check out the sights in New York since they will be in the area until mid-April. "We might have a book that's selling and a television show back home, but we'll do whatever everybody else does when they come to New York," McCosker said. "I want to see a Yankees game and see 'Wicked' on Broadway. I'm going to enjoy myself here. I have three sons under 10 at home and I can't remember the last time I sat down there.

I want to spread the word here about our book and have a little fun too." After one publishing house after another passed on the book about how to make myriad dishes with just four ingredients, the Australian pair went DIY (Do It Yourself). "We decided to self-publish to see what would happen," McCosker said while calling from Manhattan. "We were like Avon ladies selling door to door. I would sell them at my son's tennis matches and swim meets or wherever I could get someone's ear." The easygoing mothers, who have three children each, watched as their initial 2,000 books which set them back $22,000 sold within months.

After that bit of success, a publisher decided to take on the project, and "4 Ingredients" went through the roof. The book became the second best seller of 2008 in Australia behind J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." More than 3.6 million copies of "4 Ingredients" have been sold to date. "I think people like the book because it's simple and the dishes are fabulous," McCosker said. "You really just need four ingredients and you can make something special." The most important ingredient is flavor, according to McCosker.

"You don't have to settle for something boring," McCosker said. "If you have some chicken in your freezer and you have some ship of Freehold, a place he has walked in search of Springsteen's imprint the world-famous musician was born and raised in the borough of Freehold.
