Born in Edgewater, she lived in Englewood before moving to Middletown in 1947. Her first husband, William TenCate, died in 1971, and her second husband, Kurt Bamberger, in 1985. Surviving are a son, Richard TenCate, Eatontown; two daughters, Janet C. Forlenza, Freehold, and Linda Byrne, Port Richey, a brother, John Meyer, Brick Township; two sisters, Charlotte O'Donnell, California, and Catherine Dillon, Union City; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Posten's Funeral Home, Atlantic Highlands, is in charge of arrangements. ELSIE TENCATE BAMBERGER, 85, of MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, died Sunday at ANNA N. CHILD, 86, of FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, died yesterday at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was a former member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Freehold.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, she lived in East Orange prior to moving to Freehold 35 years ago. Her husband, William C.W., died in 1984. Surviving are three sons, William C.W. Child, Granby, Richard Freehold, and Thomas Wilmington, N.C.; six grandchildren; and two great Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, is in charge of arrangements. MIDGE FERRARA, 74, of WALL TOWNSHIP, died Sunday at home.

She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Asbury Park. She was a member of the Top Hatters Auxiliary of Asbury Park. Born in Asbury Park, she was a lifetime resident of the Jersey Shore area. Surviving are her husband, Frank; and a sister, Ann M.

WALTER "LEFTY" FLAGG, 64, of East Keansburg, MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, died Thursday at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. He was a mechanic at Dick's Auto, Keansburg, retiring in 1995. Prior to that, he was a mechanic with suburban Transit for 20 years.

He was a member of the Monmouth County Bowling League. Born in Bayonne, he lived in New Brunswick before moving to East Keansburg six years ago. Surviving are his former wife, Mary; a son, Daniel South Brunswick Township; a brother, Raymond, Jamesburg, and two sisters, Louise Vance, North Brunswick, and Marie Tempalski, Monmouth Junction, South Brunswick. LIESELOTTE F. HALDEN, 65, of OCEANPORT, died yesterday at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. She was a member of the Community YMCA, Red Bank. Born in Willenberg, Germany, she came to the United States in 1958, living in Colts Neck Township before moving to Oceanport in 1977. Surviving are her husband, Carl a son, Allen at home; and a daughter, Dona 1 L.

Halden, Alexandria, Va. Worden-Hoidal Funeral Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements. MARJORIE CHRISTMAN HORN, of Green Valley, formerly of FREEHOLD, died Friday in Green Valley. She was a teacher in the Freehold Township schools, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Freehold, and the church choir. She was a former member of the Roundtowners and the Cecelian Club of Freehold.

Born in Bowmanstown, she lived in Freehold for many years before moving to Green Valley 20 years ago. Surviving are her husband of 57 years, C. Lawson; a son, Brian, Phoenix, a daughter, Karen Horn, Alderpoint, two brothers, Warren Christman, Freehold, and Brian Christman, New Castle, two grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. MARSHALL, 94, of MAN- ASQUAN, died yesterday at home. Mrs. Marshall was born in Georgia and lived in Tampa, before moving to Manasquan 42 years ago. Her husband, Lewis, died in 1986. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Fitzmaurice, Manasquan, and Barbara Johnson, Denver, six grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren.

kind, His caring, name was generous, Joe but I peaceful called and him so much more that I could go on about him. He used to take me everywhere. He took me a lot of places to eat and to special events. He bought me a lot of toys, games and many presents for my birthday and Christmas. He smoked for many years and then quit but he got a disease called emphysema anyway.

He had to take all kinds of medicines, he had lots of pills and inhalers. Shortly after he turned 80-years-old, Pop-pop started to have trouble with his breathing. He went to the hospital for two months 80. him before home my to Mom our and house. me could take We took special care of him when we got him home.

He was very tired and weak but it seemed as if he was getting better every day. He liked chicken and pasta, occasionally we had pizza or a pot roast. Five days after Christmas, Pop-Pop passed away. My Mom was with him in our house when he died. It was really, really sad.

We had his wake on New Year's Day 1996, which was also my Mom's birthday and his funeral on the next day. My grandfather made a difference in my life by telling me to always believe in myself. He would always share his belongings and make special time for me. Joseph Leone was a great man who helped others. He was the nicest man I ever knew.

MARY NOWAKOSKI, 78, of Clark Township, whose son lives in Morgan, SAYREVILLE, died Saturday at Rahway Hospital. She was a check processor for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in Cranford Township for 10 years, retiring in 1988. Prior to that, she was an assembler at Western Electric, Kearny, for several years. She was a member of the Rosary Society of St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, the Senior Citizens Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council 5503, and the Thursday Club, all of Clark.

Born in Jersey City, she moved to Clark 42 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Adam H. Surviving are a son, Steven Morgan; two daughters, Deborah Nowakoski, Bedminster Township, and Lorraine Kammerer, Shamong Township; a brother, Edward Radzik, Tinton Falls; and six grandchildren. MARY "MAE" REISS, 94, of RED BANK, died yesterday at home. She was a secretary at the Red Bank Post Office for 35 years, retiring in 1968. She was a communicant of St. James Roman Catholic Church, Red Bank, and a member of its Altar Rosary Society. Born in Baltimore, she lived in Red Bank for the past 80 years.

Surviving are a brother, Bishop John C. Reiss, Lawrenceville, Lawrence Township; and two sisters, Eva Gerhard, Red Bank, and Bertha Guryansky, Hampton, Va. John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements. JULIA ROONEY, 87, of HOWELL TOWNSHIP, died Sunday at Cen- traState Medical Center, Freehold Township.

She was a communicant of St. Veronica's Roman Catholic Church, Howell. Mrs. Rooney was born in County Kerry, Ireland, and lived in the Bronx before moving to Howell 10 years ago. Her husband, Joseph, died in 1977.

Surviving are two sons, James, Howell, and Thomas, Orangeburg, N.Y.; a daughter, Margaret Rooney, Yonkers, N.Y.; a sister, Nellie Mullens, the Bronx; nine grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. OCEAN JOHN J. BARON 85, of LITTLE EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, died Sunday at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin, Stafford Township. He was a security officer at Ford Motor Metuchen, for 30 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, Tuckerton, the Knights of Columbus, the Edison Volunteer Fire Company, and the Mystic Island Co-operative Association.

Born in Hudson Falls, N.Y., he lived in New Brunswick and in Edison Township before moving to Little Egg Harbor 25 years ago. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Grace Koller Baron; five daughters, Grace DeLorenzo, Millstone, W.Va., Mary Szalay, Egg Harbor Township, Charlotte Souza, Hawthorne, Barbara Stanek, North Brunswick Township, and Ann O'Malley, Port St. Lucie, a SERVICES FLAGG Walter "Lefty," 64, on Jan 1, 1998.
