Mr. Dozier passed away, Saturday, December 11, 1999 in Angleton.

Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Palms Funeral Home. Mr. Dozier was a 20 year resident and a member of Rosharon Volunteer Fire Department and was a U.S.

Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Dusty" Dozier in 1990 and his brother, Buddy Dozier in 1995. Survivors include his sons, Clinton Dozier and wife, Martha of Las Cruces, New Mexico and William Dozier and wife Tracye of Picacho, Arizona; daughters, Anna Sarminto of Death Valley, California, Tina Bautista of El Paso, and Bonnie Haynes of Rosharon; sister, Lorraine Roper of Deer Park; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be members of Rosharon Volunteer Fire Department. In lieu of usual remembrances, donations may be made to Rosharon Volunteer Fire Department.

Arrangements by Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Bobby Gene Pierce Bobby Gene Pierce, 72, of Normangee, passed away Saturday, December 11, 1999 at his home. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Normangee on Tuesday, December 14, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Don Semonski officiating.

Burial will be in Pierce Cemetery in Madison County. He was a retired Real Estate Inspector. He is survived by two sons and their wives, Robert and Diane Pierce of Normangee and Timothy and Sherry Pierce of Pennsylvania, and son, Ronald. Gene Pierce of Houston; three brothers, Thomas D. Pierce of Houston, Fred J.

P. Oliver Mr. J. P. Oliver passed from this life Saturday evening, December 11, 1999 in Texas City.

He was born November 10, 1912 in Alto. Mr. Oliver had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1993. previously of Freeport where he retired from Dow Chemical Co. after 37 years as a truck driver.

He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Church in Clute. J.P. was preceded in death by three sisters, May Day, Ora Chandler and Willie Williams. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Lela Oliver; sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Kay Oliver of Santa Fe, Jerry and Kathy Oliver of Santa Fe and John Paul and Tonya Oliver of Crosby: daughter and son-inlaw, Gail and Dennis Craig of Santa Fe; brother and sister-inlaw, Mart and Hazel Oliver of Jacksonville; eight grandchil- dren; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 9:00 a.m.

Wednesday, December 15, 1999 in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Mr. Doug McKenzie officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Berry Cemetery in Lufkin. He passed away, Sunday, December 12, 1999 in Webster. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Haven of Rest in West Columbia. Mr. Vickers was born on Tuesday, August 18, 1925 in Florence, Texas. He served in the U.S.

Air force during WWII and the Vietnam War, retiring having earned the rank of Master Sargent. He was a member at large of VFW in the State of Texas. He is survived by his wife Elma Jean Vickers of Webster; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mike Scarborough of West Columbia; grandchildren, Ray and Holly Phariss, Michael Scarborough, Tammy and Mike Zwarst, Lisa Conway, Jeff Smothers and Daphney and Alton Nichols; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Jerry Lee Smothers. Pallbearers will be Dennis Bittner, Alton Nichols, Ray Phariss, Michael Scarborough, Jeff Smothers and Mike Zwarst.

Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Boucher, Robert Kingrea, Frank Reid and Dwight Richey. Memorials may be made to the Heart Disease Research Foundation. Mr. Marshall was born on Friday, February 29, 1924 in Guy. He was an area resident for 74 years, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Columbia. He was a long time area rancher also retired from Phillips Petroleum Company after 38 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Thelma Marshall of West Columbia; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Glenda Marshall of Cypress and Mike and Pam Marshall of West Columbia; daughter and son-inlaw, Janice and Wick McKean of College Station; mother, Masel Marshall of West Columbia; sister, Doris Tigner of Angleton; mother-in-law, Myrtle Covington of West Columbia; grandchildren, Deborah and Mark Young, Lori Marshall, Lisa and Mark Spedale, Jamie McKean.

Cody and Brittany McKean, Justin Marshall and Blake Marshall; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Austin Young, Chase and Madison McKean; two nieces; and three nephews. Norma Iona Taylor Norma Iona Taylor was born Norma I. Maples in Loving, Texas on January 11, 1912 and passed away Monday, December 13, 1999 in Lake Jackson. She was the eldest of five children born to Iza May and Earl Maples. Funeral services will be held at the Lake Jackson First Baptist Church at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 15, 1999 with Dr. John Hatch officiating.

Family will receive friends at Lakewood Funeral Chapel from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 14, 1999. Norma retired from Dow Chemical Co. as a payroll clerk after 35 years.

Norma again worked as a Diamond Consultant for Service Merchandise for 10 years until the age of 80. She was an area resident since 1939 and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson since 1955. She served as a "Pink Lady" in the Brazosport Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for more than 25 years. She is survived by her brother, Clarence Maples; two daughters, Gloria Duncan and Melba Lewis both of Lake Jackson; sister-in-law, Julia Maples (wife of Oscar Lee Maples); eight grandchildren: Sherry Duncan Thomas, Terry Lewis Cappel, Tommy Lewis, Rodney Lewis, Edward Lewis, Robert Duncan, Dennis Lewis, and Truitt Duncan; 22 great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Doris Leola Peters Doris Leola Peters passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999 at Plantation Health Care Center in Lake Jackson, Texas. Mrs. Peters was born on January 13, 1911 in Bremond, Texas, and grew up in Robertson County. She was one of ten children born to Rev.

Frederick Marshall and. Josephine Becky Adaline Jones. Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Lee Roy Peters; sisters Stella Stewart, Myrtle Henderson, Ellie Henderson, Lora Stephens, Wanda Gibson and Faye Jackson; and brothers Sidney Jones and Rozell Jones. She is survived by her daughters Sharon Shields and husband Ronnie of Pearland, Barbara Turner and husband Marshall of Clute, and one brother Roland Jones and wife Sylvia of Beaumont.

She is also survived by four grandchildren: Michelle Ferrell, Kimberly Turner, Timothy Shields and Alissa McKay, and three great-grandchildren: Paden Ferrell, Paige Ferrell and Joshua Shields. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 1999 at the First Baptist Church of Clute, where she was a faithful member since 1945. Doris was a member of the ladies Samaritan Sunday School Class, and was active in Jolly Sixties and the Ladies WMU. Burial will be at Restwood Memorial Cemetery in Lake Jackson.

Services will be conducted by Rev. Duane Phy, assisted by Rev. Mark Cox. Pallbearers will be Timothy Shields, Truman Bowles, W.B. Jackson, Terry Jackson, Bill Reed and Dan Kessner.
